If Godzilla, I’m assuming the main yellow part is Ghidorah and the red and yellow curves might be part of Mothra’s wings. Or I could be wrong altogether and Stern is trolling us with the katakana.

I’m in for Godzilla if it is Toho Godzilla. I really hope the rumors of Stern giving Elwin more BOM money and cool mechs for his next pin is true.
I still think Muse is one of the best choices for a more modern music pin. They keep putting out albums with a different feel to them and they still sell out stadiums. Plus they have tons of videos to pull assets from.
Quoted from simbob:Slight segue from the Godzilla v BTTF hype and speculation.... (and excuse me if this has been discussed elsewhere) but given that the next game is an Elwin design, should we presume that the following one is likely to be a Gomez one? He hasn't had one for a while... and he has designed my 3 top pins ever so I am praying his next design is a theme I like....
Gomez “retired” from officially designing. I think he gives input and tweaks things but has not really worked on a design since Deadpool and even that may not have been a full redesign. Borg just said on the SAPS podcast that his next pin will be out by the end of the year.
I still want it but the art is….off? The Godzilla design just looks weird to me. I get that this is a comic version of the big G but something does not click.
I also think the back glass and side art for the Pro looks better than the premium. I wonder why they took the katakana off the other two versions.
There are a ton of 3-d printer files out there for Godzilla that look awesome. I’m sure one of those could be scaled properly and fit in the place of derpzilla. Just need to paint it properly.
Quoted from pinball2020:I think we are long overdue for a Kroger or Publix pinball machine.
Modes like "Clean up in aisle three multiball".
"Knock down the cans display in the soda aisle".
"Power is shut down, make sure meat and produce aren't spoiling mode".
Put me down for an LE for one of these now please.
I heard Roger Sharpe is in negotiations with Piggly Wiggly as we speak. I also heard the Food Lion deal fell through and nobody wanted to take a chance on the knockoff, “Comestible Leopard”.
I always find it funny when folks crap on the idea of more modern bands for a pin. I do think Foo Fighters would be great but I would gladly take Muse over them any day. To me, FF and Muse straddle the age/demographic line perfectly for a pinball. Mid 40s guy here and I believe Muse has sold more albums than FF, not that album sales is the best metric anymore. Maybe we should look at who gets streamed the most now.
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:Definitely not true haha
You are correct. The last numbers I saw were only referencing combined US and UK sales for each band. If you include total worldwide sales FF has Muse beat by about 10 million.
But as I said I have no idea if that metric means as much as it once did.

Quoted from onemilemore:I love both the Foos and Muse, but thematically Muse has waaaaaaaay more awesome content to work with. You could easily make it a sci-fi/adventure theme, similar to what some Rush fans have been hoping for. Foo Fighters feels like it would be more Zeppelin-esque in terms of gameplay structure.
I agree, Muse has so much great footage from fun concept music videos to the crazy stuff they do in live shows.
Quoted from LeMansFan:Radiohead would be a much better choice than Foo Fighters or Muse. Isn’t Muse just a wanna-be Radiohead anyway?
Those are fighting words sir. Muse sounds nothing like Radiohead. Matt Bellamy and Thom Yorke may both do falsetto well but the similarity stops there.
While I love Radiohead, Muse has a wider collection of pop rock and rock anthems that would suit pinball better.
Quoted from DanQverymuch:I loathe New Country, but the classics would make a great theme.
Modes could include hurry-ups to prevent wife leaving, dog dying, pickup breaking down...
I hate most new country myself but do yourself a favor and listen to the modern guys who still do it right like Lord Huron or Robbie Fulks. Sign me up for a Johnny Cash pin though.
So did he really go to a pay only model? Seems incredibly stupid to make a pinball podcast only a couple hundred people will hear. You’d think keeping it public while allowing for patreon as well would net more listeners and patrons in the long run. Maybe he figures he has his captive audience he can milk for money and attention without having to worry about keeping himself honest by doing a free/public podcast.
So I assume full trailer next week for FF? Excited to see Jack’s first cornerstone. I am not a big fan of the theme but I love playing new pinball.
