I like to think I know quite a bit about music. The only maiden song I know well is flight of Icarus.
And as the previous post stated am also familiar with run for the hills. What other songs are likely to be included?

Quoted from Tranquilize:

I disagree that the geometry just needs to be learned by better players. I play very well, and the game, like Houdini, has geometry issues. They should have removed one of the shots to free up room or go widebody. Maiden has tough shots but also flow. Machines should have both. ACNC played like crap to me.

I consider myself an average player and while I struggle to make some shots on Alice C. I could see getting better with more time on it. Houdini is a dream theme for me and a beautiful machine but when I’ve played it all I do is brick shots. Makes me feel like a 10 year old playing Haunted House or Black Knight back in the day. So I guess I’m saying my opinion is Alice has minor geometry issues(I’d consider adding it to my collection) ,Houdini has major ones(I’d never get one), At least that’s how it is for me!!!

Quoted from PinMonk:

Ugh. Please just give me a classic Scooby Doo pin. That movie is voiced and scripted terribly.

I agree and hope Stern or Spooky release it. It better not be another stripped down the pinball company machine release like the Jetsons !

Quoted from Charlemagne1987:

I heard The Pinball Company acquired the rights to Scooby Doo as they did with The Jetsons and that they will probably hire Spooky to make the game just as they did with The Jetsons.

I hope not!

Besides isn’t SDHH / Scott D haunted House
Spooky pinball a Code name for Scooby Doo Haunted House?

Quoted from Sako-TRG:I think Black Sabbath did some of the Tunes on Heavy Metal. Would be great if they got those licensed.
This could be interesting for sure.

I went and dug our the laserdisc released in 1996 and the blu-ray dvd to check the music from the film.
Going to watch it tonight as it’s been quite a few years since my last viewing.

There is huge potential in this theme but I’m not getting excited because
I hate being disappointed !

Think I already posted this last summer /fall when jaws was being discussed.

This is such a timeless movie.
Most people I know love it and a few are terrified of it.
I got this shirt last summer.
Ordered a pizza and was wearing it. delivery guy who was about 18 asks me ... where did you get that awesome Tshirt?

Quoted from Hayfarmer:

Gnr is great theme, I just dont like how jjp games feel. Maybe this one will change my mind, if I get a chance to play. I prefer the strong snappy flippers, and like SR designs in the past. And for the price of a true LE, you get a limited game. Jjp 15 to 2000 more, for 1 of 5000, or however many they end up making.

I’m also not a big jjp fan (WOZ and Wonka are just ok and I do not like Hobbit at all)but when I played dialed in at the Allentown show two years ago the flippers and overall gameplay “feel” was the closest I’ve experienced to how my monster bash played after opening it NIB back in 1998. My sister in law agreed. She also purchased MB NIB in 1998.
Haven’t played Gnr yet. Curious to see how it plays.

The Thing would make an Amazing pin. I’d actually love to see a John Carpenter retrospective pin with all of his films and scores. That would just blow my f’n mind...
A boy can dream!

The Thing is a great movie but I’d prefer Escape from New York.
Master Carpenter

Has Mnpinball posted lately? I think the only game that hasn’t been made off of his 2020 list is J Bond.

Or do a pin for Mike Judge's Tales from the Tour Bus, which covers a bunch of bands. Season 1 was country, season 2 was funk. In two seasons there was only maybe one or two dud episodes (and I am NOT a country fan). The Bootsy Collins episode was GREAT,

I loved that series! Almost everyone I talked to about it hadn’t heard of it and wasn’t aware it was even on.
Not sure it translates to pinball but it’s quality TV!
Mike Judge is a Genius!

Quoted from luvthatapex2:

Super big fan of the Eagles - great band. Not sure what the rules/theme could be? Hope we are pleasantly surprised. Absolutely love their music. Hope this happens.

Peaceful easy feeling multiball would be awesome !
All joking aside to me it’s the themes that I don’t dream of that I seem to enjoy the most. Maybe expectations are too high on the grail themes.

After Maiden was released I try to tell myself to never form an opinion about a new pin before playing it. I was only familiar with a couple of their songs and hadn’t heard them in almost 30 years. Really enjoy playing the game even though I don’t love the music.

Quoted from Utesichiban:

The Navy cooperated on the Top Gun for PR and recruiting purposes. I realize the pinball demographic isn't necessarily their target age for recruitment but it is still good PR and most people who own pinball machines have kids.
It probably wouldn't come cheap but I disagree the license would be unobtainable. I think the bigger issue would be paying Tom Cruise, all the actors, and enough of the soundtrack.

It worked as far as recruiting. My brothers best friend in High school always loved watching the movie. About 5-10 years after he graduated I ran into him. He was flying F15’s.

I’m not surprised at all. I just got a quote for garage doors last week. It’s 80% higher than last year. I called three different companies and got quotes. They were the all the same. I have dealt with one of them for 25 years.
They claim alum/steel/wood and other material cost increases. Plus fuel/trucking cost increases. I’m sure this is true but not 80%.
Company’s are price gouging and will increase and hold prices until sales drop to a point where they have to slowly drop prices.

I just built a single home that was substantially similar to one I built 1-1/2 years ago. Lumber costs went from $70,000 to $120,000.
My buddy drives big rigs. Two of his friends drive for a huge lumber company. They say the MFG plants have material stacked up high and their company policy right now is no overtime.
They are creating false scarcity so they can price gouge and claim “material shortages”.

Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

I see Stern trying to break into the secondary market in multiple ways here, and trying to take a piece of secondary game sales.
Lets say Stern sells a Back To The Future pro for $6,400 and includes an "activation fee" in that price, with 6 months of Stern Insider connected. It has OTA updates, new code, online connectivity, all your dreams and then after that it's $10 per month per game to maintain the new features.
Lets say that I then sell Back To The Future to you for $6,000 a year down the road because I want to buy Weird Al's Polka Party. I don't want to keep paying Stern $10 per month for a game I no longer own to maintain the service and/or any expansion packs they may have sold me so I go to Stern.com and cancel my Stern Insider connection for Back To The Future. You suddenly lose the new code you had, and it reverts to a previous state. Now in order for you to unlock the features you have to pay a $100 activation fee and pay $10 per month. You also have to rebuy and new code or expansion packs I had previously purchased.
This is a very slippery slope.

I have no interest in this insider connection BS.
On the other hand Weird Al’s Polka Party sounds like the best new title in a very long time!

Isn’t James Bond the only title not released yet from Mnpinball’s prediction list he posted last year?

I’d love a Godzilla pin but have my doubts it will be as awesome as many here hope it will be.
Here’s my topper if it is released.

Is anyone else hoping for Stern to release a turd sometime in the next year to put all the “ordered a LE before it was even announced and flipping it for a huge profit” scalpers to realize its not guaranteed profit to order and flip machines that they have no interest in even owning?

Levi will love this but it’s like concert tickets. Ticket-gument. Long ago you could wait in line and get good seats. Those days are long gone because the scalpers buy and markup almost all the really desirable seats.then the performers got wise and started selling the good seats at crazy markups because they saw how much the scalpers were making. The cost just kept climbing and climbing.

That's good to hear. We've got young kids and my wife knows we're waiting for an Elvira House of Horrors, but she hasn't realized/remembered who Elvira is. Gonna be RREEAALLYY awkward when it shows up. Best case she makes me put a post-it or something to cover up.

I wouldn’t worry. Times have really changed since the release of the first two Elvira pins. What was considered racy then is now nothing out of the ordinary. Just this week I was waiting to use the self check out at Target. What was your response? And what made him think you would place an order for a game you didn’t know anything about, including the price?

Pinsiders and scalperscum (some are both)already have multiple deposits at different distributors on the next unnamed Stern release.

Yes, we could. But that would be joining in with a group of people who we think are doing something that causes havoc to pin prices. That wouldn’t be proactive.

The next Indiana Jones film is scheduled for release this summer. If stern releases a new machine , I hope they don’t F it up. Lots of potential for a great machine. I read the plot centers around a castle being stormed by Nazis in 1944.

Quoted from crujones4life:With BTTF coming soon I am wondering if anyone is planning on making some Crispin Glover mods to add him into the pin? Maybe a Crispin Glover shooter lane sticker ala Gina Carano on Mando? How will we get our Crispin Glover fix?!
[quoted image]

Coming soon based on what info? Other the fact that you want it?

Its that time of year again. Please Stern can one Christmas have a holiday boutique release?! Even if its next year. I want to pull this pin out annually with my Christmas tree.

Quoted from TreyBo69:

Well times are different? Idk what to tell you.
If you wanna drive a forklift, places are happy to train you if you reliably show up. It only takes 1-2 days of training.

I deal with a pretty large local material supplier. I always call in or email my orders and they deliver so I rarely go there. Last week I needed something quick and stopped into their office to pick something up. They had a large 2’x2’ sign next to the office calendar that said days since a warehouse employee callout sick day. There was a #2 written on a piece of paper taped to the sign. I asked if it was an office joke and he said No and it never goes higher than 3 days ever!

Two weeks ago A carpet installer showed up at a project to install about 1500sf of carpet. There was a big roll probably 2-1/2’ -3’ diameter. He cuts off the shrink wrap protecting it and gets really angry. A forklift operator had speared directly thru the entire roll with both forks. The installer says WTF! You would have had to ram at full speed to make it all the way thru!

White shrink wrap is a careless forklift drivers best friend!

Quoted from Merendino:

I'm honestly surprised they haven't removed coin mechs from all NIB pins to cut costs "If you wish to have your machine earn money, buy our official coin mech kit!".

It’s probably coming soon! Bean counter at Stern thinks now that many of our customers are putting these machines in their homes. Why include something that may never ever get used?

I’m still pissed about the stupid flip clamps on the lockdown bars and moving the power switch to the side of the head.
Damn you Stern!!

Universal received a Notification of Allowance from the Trademark Office updating their long-standing JAWS trademark for use on a Pinball machine. They have 6 months to file a confirmation of use or request an extension. Let the countdown begin.....DUM DUM.......DUM DUM.....DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM.......

Lots of potential.
Stern please don’t F this one up!

Some people spend all their disposable income on booze, cigarettes, gambling, tools,,
Maybe beezle isn't "privileged", but spends on pins?
I don't know, just thinking outside your box here.
Besides, just from checking out your ad history, one might get the impression it is you that is privileged; but again, I won't assume your status.
Have a great day!

You left strippers/escorts/women and drugs off your list.

Escape From New York is a machine that I would love to be able to add to my collection. If it ever gets made I think it would be by Spooky not Stern.
Ben Heck said no more John Carpenter themes from Spooky. Hopefully he’s full of crap or just misdirecting.

Would make an insane thread starter. ‘Anyone dumpster dive at Stern warehouse?

It’s almost guaranteed dumpster divers were watching and diving if they could. Hopefully we will eventually hear some stories.

How about a Porkys pinball machine!

they would need to incorporate some of the characters from Porkys II. Graveyard Gloria and the oogidie boogidie zombie. Oh my God Pee Wee ,You humped her to death!
In my opinion it’s one of the funniest scenes of the film trilogy.

Quoted from superNoid:

I have no doubt that a Stern JAWS will be great. My hope is that the shark is hidden and NOT at all in the forefront of any game but shows up in some modes at most. I'm hoping mechs involve the Orca, barrels, maybe a cage etc.. The reason Jaws was such a great monster movie was because you NEVER see the monster until the 3rd or 4th act and even then its rarely. Same thing with Alien. It would be a mistake to have the shark front and center in this pin. Having a shark jump out of nowhere to land on the Orca would be perfection, top tier mech if the shark ate the ball from the Orca.
I feel like for this pin to be a masterpiece it needs movie assets. Can they make a fantastic game without them, shooter like JP? Sure. Would it be less of a game than if it had assets? Absolutely.

Let’s just hope that some of the awesome mechs you describe don’t get removed to keep production costs down. There better not be a barrel or boat on a spring!

Quoted from KING-HENRY:

Yeah, but think of a pinball dragging 3 light yellow barrels on the side of a wireform (then the barrels retract. That would be cool if bullet-proofed). This is my Mcgeiver kicking in.

That would be cool. Jaws can be an awesome pin even without film assets. I would rather the machine have 3-4 killer interactive mechs and no film assets much more than one with film assets and only 1 or 2 of the 4 mechs. I just want to flip the silver ball in an ocean/beach world under glass.

As much of a legend and pioneer Tony Hawk is to skateboarding I just don’t like the theme of one professional skateboarder for a pin. If they can do a THPS tribute that could be fun, but I don’t see that happening or selling well.
Radical! Does the trick for me!

If they go with metal cabinets, be prepared to by industrial quantities of this stuff. Especially if you have a shaker, or upgraded sub. Truth!

Metal cabinets!
Here come countless “ my NIB Stern was Delivered and the cabinet is dented”! Threads.
I signed/accepted delivery and Stern won’t address the damage.

Also inflatable water bladders to add weight? The last thing I want to do is fill a water bladder in a machine.

"Tony Hawk Pro Skater" pin: NO
"Tony Hawk and the Bones Brigade" pin: YES
I'm not interested in licensing the video game properties. Go get the skaters that made it great, along with some of the better tunes. It's doable, TH likes pinball and a lot of the skaters are easy to work with.

Bones Brigade!
I could care less about the video game but I’m sure the general population would disagree.
I still have my Rodney Mullen Deck! I got it sometime around 1987.
Classic skate rock bands would be fine with me. Dead Kennedys, Suicidal Tendencies, Etc.

Quoted from Rolls-Royce:

@Gr

Grantman thanks for posting.
I’m interested in Muppets, He-Man and Dracula

BSD is the first machine that I purchased almost 30 years ago. I personally Love it but many people consider it a B list title. Back then it was approx. 1/2 the price of the A list titles. Pretty much the same these days. Unless I’m missing something it would have to be priced substantially lower than other machines on the list in order to sell in decent numbers.

It’s great to have things shift back to how it was “in the good old days.” Don’t purchaseNIB(way too expensive) play the machine on location/ at Shows to determine if it’s worth purchasing and then track down a lightly used machine for substantially less than Retail if it’s deemed worthy of purchase.

I never would have dreamed that we would have the selection of NIB machines available from different Mfg’s. It a great time to be a player / collector but I wouldn’t want to be a Distro. With so many options it seems like lower production numbers would be smart in order to avoid too much stock sitting in warehouses/close out pricing.

The original player's handbook would make a great lighted backglass.
[quoted image]

The Original Handbook Art is my favorite. I need to dig thru some boxes and find my old books.

This one isn’t bad either.

Unfortunately I doubt if it ever even gets released that it will feature hand drawn art. So much potential. It would be a dream come true!
