Quoted from Harvester:Same here; pinstadiums are way too overpriced and deceptively marketed to support IMO. At a much lower price point, I’d be likely to pick up a set. However, like Stern, they seem to follow the “squeeze the margins” business model which is great while it lasts, but hard to sustain in a downturn. Repackaged price increases with zero customer interactions are red flags for business transactions. I mean $300-$650 for $40-$60 materials puts one helluva a premium on assembly and shipping; it breaks the quality product/quality business ratio for me.
Never understood the need for Pinstadiums. Not only are they not needed (my opinion). Installation stinks (my opinion). Alligator clips on nearby flashers? No. Then having to lift and lower the playfield results in all kinds of awkwardness. remove pinstadiums, lay them somewhere on your playfield and tuck the wires out of the way. Oops I pulled off an alligator clip and didn't realize it. Oops, shorted something and blew multiple fuses. No. I've installed these in customer pins a few times. I won't do it again and I certainly won't put them in my games.
