Iron Maiden
Guardians of the Galaxy
Pulp Fiction
Jurassic World
Elvira 3 - but not really a Stern title.
Well, these are the songs on the album.
Wonder which ones will make the game?
Sweet - Fox on the Run - excellent pinball song but only on trailer.
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain - great pinball song.
ELO - Mr Blue Sky - has to be included.
Will Vol 1 be included?

Quoted from J85M:Since you seem to know what's what who's going code with Borg for GOTG?
And any idea if any of the songs from movies will be in GOTG?
Quoted from PinMonk:Lonnie ranges from weak to *okay* generally, but he has a reputation for just not finishing off games and leaving them with annoying bugs. KISS has a BUNCH of annoying bugs, few of which were actually addressed in the tiny 1.28->1.30 update that took almost 18 months. Avengers, yuck. Transformers, yuck. Mustang, yuck. Star Trek and Iron Man - actually these are probably his most "finished" machines.
So, Lonnie is kind of a crapshoot with strong negative leanings for blah software, and a likelihood not to "finish" the software off by clearing known bugs. Not exactly my first choice for GotG.
Yeah, it is annoying that he hasn't finished KISS and AS has similar issues.
Both are great games but as the home collector market continues to grow, please finish games!
As for GOTG.
Will now wait until code is done....
Quoted from kid_ego:I'm guessing Elvira will be at Expo next October. Something else for spring 2018.
Iron Maiden next!
Quoted from Psw757:I saw that but the thing that has me scratching my head is the rumored Beatles pin which the same people said would be expo maybe sooner.
Assuming Stern has this license, have they ever built two music pins within the same year. Seems odd.
But Beatles is a KAPOW title and that means no pro etc. Supposed to be Expo again just like BM66.
And 80 Beatles SLE at $15000!
Iron Maiden is a regular Stern title.
Quoted from Sinestro:It's looking like a 2 game year, with the first game at TPF.
We know one of them is Elvira, from a rare case of pre-announcement from the designers.
We just don't know if it's the Spring game, or the Fall.
It maybe be 2 plus KAPOW Beatles and maybe a Vault.
Quoted from mufcmufc:George Gomez said 3 titles this year earlier today I'm expecting Feb 19th IM announcement
Makes sense
Heighway showing Queen at Texas on 18th March and Spooky showing Alice Cooper.
Makes sense for Stern to show Iron Maiden first.
Quoted from mnpinball:Maiden is next. Worst kept secret in pinball.
The secret bit is who is doing the code??!!!
No one has said that other than it would be Keith's ideas?
If Iron Maiden has the same layout as Archer it will be awesome as that layout is totally unique with so many cool shots.
If it's that layout and confirmed Lyman doing the code, dang, it might have to be LE!
Needs mirrored backglass as well.
If Iron Maiden is current, according to another thread, take a look at this.
http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/iron-maiden-announces-2018-legacy-of-the-beast-european-tour/
A lot of 80's hits will be featured.
Looks a cool tour.
The concept for the Legacy Of The Beast World Tour was inspired by Maiden’s mobile game and comic book of the same name and the stage set design will feature a number of different but interlocking “worlds” with a set list covering a large selection of Eighties material with a handful of surprises from later albums to add diversity.
Maiden manager Rod Smallwood explains further,
“As our fans know, we’ve been following a particular touring cycle ever since Bruce and Adrian re-joined Maiden at the start of the millennium, alternating new album tours with “History/Hits” tours. We enjoy working this way for many reasons, not least because it gives the band a chance to play both new material and the older favourites which we know fans like to hear. It keeps things fresh, not just for the fans but for the band too.
“For this History/Hits tour we decided to base the theme around the Legacy Of The Beast name, which suits our purposes perfectly by giving us scope to get creative and have some fun, especially with Eddie! I don’t want to give too much away at the moment but we’re working on a number of different stage sets, all in keeping with the Maiden tradition and we hope to give our fans a fantastic experience when they come to see this very special show.”
Quoted from Cantaffordgames:Iron Maiden plays in STADIUMS arcross the world and sells out arenas to this day in the U.S. you are seriously underestimating their popularity.
Yup.
This is going to be the first LE for a while that will sell out quick, especially if they do 666 or less.
Quoted from PinMonk:Since JJP has had pins installed at GnR shows for Slash, I bet they're already on it and doubt it's 3 years out. We have Toy Story, possibly late this year, then Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka in mid 2019, then what? Muppets were on the original leaked list, but I can't imagine they're still on it. So maybe GnR late 2019? That's not that far off...
And that means a ton of Slash call outs which will be good.
Never liked the Hobbit but it did sound superb.
GnR on a JJP sound system is sure gonna rock!
Quoted from Midway-Man:Iron Maiden will be announced in March.
Supposed to be next week.
Quoted from Sinestro:Jeez, at this point I just want Stern to release IM so we can start talking about the next game. IM does nothing for me.
Go to the Deadpool thread - it's ready n waiting
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:I'm beyond that one too. What's next?
Munsters and Beatles.
Quoted from PinballManiac40:And.....beyond that?
Jurassic World, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix......
All old rumors!
Quoted from JimB:With ABBA doing 2 new songs now (artwork like Aerosmith) they would be a good theme for a Pinball. They are also doing a virtual tour so time is right for someone to take that license.
Would be a buyer ! Would put next to Maiden
Can't see anyone getting the licence though.
I fancy a Beatles but my worry is that this is the Kapow title and that only means expensive, crazy expensive and ridiculously priced editions
Translation. No pro.
Quoted from mnpinball:Munsters = Pro/Prem/LE
Presuming Beatles is SLE, LE and Premium?
So, Superman 78 back as a strong rumor - think this was talked about a few years ago so thinking this is quite likely in 2019.
But, Beetlejuice? Really???
Quoted from JimB:If they do anymore sixties stuff I hope they put in the original Star Trek. Would great to see clips from the show on the new LCD.
Have to agree that the original Star Trek series on LCD would really hit Stern's demographic.
And not too late to get custom call outs from William Shatner.
Nostalgia, Sci-fi, now on Blu-ray, just had 50th anniversary.
Quoted from JimB:I'd bet Shatner would do it no problem at all. He's big on promoting stuff already. Sign cards like they did with BM66. LE's would sell out fast.
I think he would do it if asked as well.
If done right, it could be superb.
Talk about a universal theme - Spock transcends generations!
So, are the rumors that Superman 78 is next, true I wonder?
Wonder if the music would all be the John Williams soundtrack?
Guessing Eddy?
I am hoping Keith is doing Jaws
Quoted from DS_Nadine:Since the dirty laundry is out allready...
May we also get to know why Stern rejected? It looks pretty bad in those photos.
Taking a wild guess that there was a time delay from getting the game to making a claim? ie a warped playfield would be obvious from opening the box?
Quoted from Oneangrymo:what is a Star Wars home edition?
Like this....
ThePin-e1353462784133 (resized).jpgIf Star Wars pro was a 'box of lights', what will this version be?
An empty box with pictures on it?
Quoted from TreyBo69:Star Wars Home would probably just be a rehash of the other home games, but I'd kinda curious what Elwin could cook up for a home edition. Iron Maiden Pro really doesn't have that much in it, so I bet Elwin could probably come up with a few fun shots and complimentary modes on a tiny budget. (Then again, don't put your best new designer on the product that will probably sell half of what a full arcade game could do)
No way in hell will Elwin have anything to do with this!!!!!
Quoted from Thunderbird:It will be a brilliant strategy on many levels if it is in fact Star Wars home edition. A $3900 table for newbies would put up a huge challenge to Deeproot and anyone else trying to do pinball would almost call it quits with Stern marketing. A four tier system:
3.9k Home Edition - for newbies to introduce to pinball (we like this, so what else does Stern make?)
5.5k Pro - for Arcades & locations
7.5k Premium - for home owners
9k Limited Edition - for collectors
This would be a killer strategy for Stern to continue its dominance and grow the market. Real top popular IPs sold to people that know nothing about pinball. Not the no name IPs being considered or done by others. Winner strategy if this is the case. Will be good for us pinheads as well. Now if we can get Stern to focus on more and unique mechs...
(Come on Stern haters, give this a down vote, you know you want to...lol)
Except so far the home model just doesn't sell.
$4000 is a crazy amount for a big toy.
$5500 gets a proper arcade pinball machine.
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:This SW speculation sound like bull crap to me. It will be a new pin.
Well, Stern gave distributors this info so that would seem unlikely.
Not to say there won't be another announcement with a 'proper' pin soon
Quoted from Tranquilize:Personally don't get it. A remake of a pin that was modeled on a film from 1993.... Why?
Because people like dinosaurs?
Not a must have theme for me, but with Keith on the code, will pick one up a year down the road.
And which sounds better Raptor Tri Ball v Kid Multiball
500 LE will sell out quick.
Quoted from kciaccio:Well this is disappointing..This is the big December release?
No, it's the early October release....
Quoted from DavidPinballWizz:SW is one of their best on software and tactics level. Take it from someone whou bought the game and not at all into star wars
But except for requests and some bill & ted rumours. It seems there is no obvious indications now on the next game(s)?
Turtles?
Led Zeppelin?
James Bond?
These been mentioned a lot.
Quoted from J85M:Really I hadn’t heard anyone had gone for BTTF, go on......
Deeproot?
Quoted from konghusker:Kanedas rumor he heard was karate kid. I'd be ALL in on that one. Hoping that's true. Same with turtles.
Not into Karate Kid or Goonies - both seem real dated now.
I think the next Stern will be the re-skinned Led Zep game.
Beatles wasn't a hit with pinheads but I heard it sold pretty good, so expect same kind of selling model.
Quoted from Capn12:Despite really wanting a great 80s theme, it is starting to feel more and more like it will be the Zeppelin reskin(to me). That seems like a fitting release to jam into the end of the year, before the next cornerstone (TMNT). I hope that isn't the case, but with JP and Elvira coming out so recently, it just feels like we won't be getting another net-new pin.
Hit the Xmas nostalgic market hard.
Many different sources suggesting this is next.
And it will be Quicksilver, not Ali.
I think there are plenty of false rumors to catch various podcasters out, and throw people off the scent!
Quoted from chad:K man mentioned this , but who knows. How about a remake of Starn Pinball 80s game.
Kaneda mentioned it, as did others.
Seems a solid guess as it fits Stern's strategy of targeting different demographics with different games.
And then Turtles in Jan 2020.
I am guessing but this seems fairly likely...... but Stern can surprise from time to time.
Remember when Mustang and WWE dropped out of the blue?
Quoted from Sinistarrett:Where did this Quicksilver/Led Zep mashup rumour originate? Ive only heard about it in this thread. Sounds interesting to me as long as its not Beatles pricing.
It was last year that someone briefly mentioned it - can't remember who.
Since then lots of different people.
Quoted from Rager170:Pee Wee could be a great theme, lots to add. Just not sure how many people are fans of that show these days.
Really?
That would be very niche in an already niche hobby!!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Reubens
Arrested but not charged for possession of child pornography.
After the JT scandal, Stern wouldn't go near this as a licence.
Toxic.
Quoted from mrclean:Brian is doing JAWS which will be a Stern Widebody.... "You're Gonna Need a Bigger Basement"![quoted image]
Pretty certain there is no Jaws in the pipeline.
Led Zep fav at moment.
TMNT for sure at some point.
Played Alien a fair bit.
Don't get the hype as it plays slow and clunky.
Sound and visuals are superb though.
Quoted from aeonblack:I'm definitely thinking the rumors of Led Zep and Stranger Things are viable, but TMNT doesn't seem that likely.
But this is what I really want. Really, just any awesome sci-fi pin would be awesome.
TMNT is a super strong rumor.
And like JP it's a Data East re-boot so much cheaper for Stern to do....
Quoted from Who-Dey:I gotta believe that Tron will be made as a vault one day and it definitely should be. Seems like the only vaults so far though are games that they need to get rid of extra parts that they have laying around. How cool would a vault TSPP or a LOTR be? I also think it would be cool to see them make some old classics and price them reasonable. I would buy a NIB METEOR remake right now.
Tron great candidate ... but wonder if it would still have SAM boards?
Started to re-appreciate some of the great SAM games again.
SAM games are bullet proof compared to Spike 1 and 2. Tick tock.
So, will Stranger Things be focused on all 3 seasons or just be season 1 I wonder?
Presume they will get the music as would be a big miss without.
Any custom voice work?
Going to be great to see what Eddy has designed
Quoted from J85M:If games have been on the line since last week maybe we will see the reveal/announcement this week? Stern might try to take some of the wind out of Spookys sails as they did the official rick and Morty reveal and it looks pretty damn good.
I thought they might do this.
However Spooky will probably be sold out before they announce now.
But with Stranger Things on boats as we speak, announcement must be close!
Quoted from Airball:Stern know that Stranger Things is DOA.
Smart move to move to Iron Man vault to keep the line rolling.
Then Stern needs to throw everything and the kitchen sink in TMNT.
Market saturation does not allow sub par games . It just does not work.
Not to mention the saturation is only going to grow with DR pinball.
And JJP GnR probably also at Texas with DR.
Saturation is going to start to bite real soon.
Turtles a week after Texas?
This new tech needs to be awesome - playing head to head with friends could be really good, depending on implementation.
Quoted from Snailpin:"I would love to make a Led Zeppelin pinball machine" - Steve Ritchie, dec 2017.
Going to be fascinating what Ritchie does with this licence?
And it will be Spike 3, whatever that does.
Quoted from PinMonk:Batman:TDK is the only Lyman-coded game I would call a turd. Even he couldn't code around Gomez's design on that one to make it fun. Congrats on finding the exception to the rule.
GotG is one in a long line of Lonnie-coded turds.
KISS is a ton of fun though - took years for code to be done but it's great now.
Could do with some tweaks but think it's done!
Really curious what the internet connectivity is going to give us.
Will we be able to play head to head with some kind of camera or headphones linking games?
Stern have nailed it if they implement features like these in a fun way.
Quoted from PinMonk:I don't know WHAT it is, but given that Jaws turned out to be the code name for Jurassic Park, I'm more of the mind that Godzilla is a code name for Elwin's next pin and not the pin itself. The Stern shared Harry Potter World picture from like a year and a half ago and what a monster hit it would be feeds this. But basically if you look at the codename as standing in for a "destroy the competition" release, it could be any big title fans have been asking for with lots of sales potential. Harry Potter and Back to the Future both fit this profile.
Didn't someone say that Stern do have BTTF?
My money would be Keith doing this.
This would destroy the competition!
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:Zombie Yeti is doing the art for TMNT and it will be based on 90’s TMNT (so think Deadpool style) Game features 4 player co op mode and Internet connectivity to play vs or coop with other players around the globe. Even if you think the theme is lame this game has HUGE potential aaaand they have had a few extra months to flesh out the code prior to release. Should be announced in the next few weeks.
Really interested to see how playing anyone, anywhere works.
Could be a game changer.
Quoted from J85M:No idea if any of this is right but if it is correct, is anyone else left a little unimpressed? Spinning disk from X-Men, although a cool mech wasn’t there a spinning pizza on the data east turtles?
Yeah, for a title that 'is going to blow everyone away', those reveals are disappointing to say the least!
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:It’s either Led Zep or Godzilla after TMNT ... I’d be more happy with Godzilla personally.
Still think Godzilla is a code name for the monster hit that Keith on Back to the Future would be.
Anyway only time will tell.
Quoted from PinMonk:With Godzilla vs Kong now officially moved to May of next year, here's hoping Godzilla was a codename for a massive Elwin title, and not actually Godzilla.
With the constant pushing of big event movies due to COVID-19 uncertainty and flareups, it's a bad time to have a movie pin license.
Keith on BTTF makes most sense.
Jaws - Elwin? Hmmm..... I say 99% no.
Quoted from PinMonk:Which, circling back, is all I was saying. He's not always "on the money." Thank you for acknowledging that.
This is the beginning of that bit that started with keith's carefully phrased post. It doesn't change the fact that Stern not having subways may not be an overt ban, but they keep them out in other ways (BOM restrictions, etc) that amount to a de facto ban in practice. There's no other way to explain that they do not have them even when designers KNOWN for using subways (some of them EXTENSIVELY) come to Stern and suddenly stop.
That's awesome, but I'm a little put out he didn't call it revolutionary (or did he?).
And you gotta remember that Stern are feeding misleading info in Kaneda's direction to find where the leaks are coming from.
A Jaws pin without the movie does not make sense at all.
I don't believe it at all.
Quoted from PinMonk:I don't care about all that.
I don't listen to pinball podcasts in general, so I don't care what he says. But when someone says he's ALWAYS "on the money" I have to speak up and say, "uh, no...no he's not, that's clear just from what little I know of what he's said in the past."
Enjoy his show. Promote it. But don't try to sell that he's ALWAYS on the money.
No way is he always on the money!
He said Alien remake was 100% in 2019 so there you go.
I actually heard from a good source that Jaws was a no but take it with a pinch of salt.
If only Heighway had got their act together their Queen pin could have been pretty good.
Some good shots and being a live version, would have rocked!
Be interesting to see the Kapow version.
Quoted from JodyG:No thanks....that upper playfield looks quite annoying and lame.
Yeah, not a fan of any upper playfield really.
It does illustrate that if Queen was done right, it would be a ton of fun.
QS re-theme with Beatles pricing - no thanks.
Quoted from shaub:Well, Elwin was designing Archer, he's now designing a new game, I wouldn't mind it being James Bond. I don't even need much for assets, as long as it FEELS like Bond. But I guess we'll see...
If it is Bond, what era or movies would they choose?!
So, Kaneda still going with Queen.
The only way that makes sense is if it is a Quicksilver re-theme.
Avengers is a strange one - that would be a surprise for sure.
Jaws - pretty sure that is not happening.
Quoted from delt31:I have a feeling it’s marvel related bc didn’t TWIP remove the mention of marvel in their story per sterns request?
It's looking more that way as why would they pull that article?
Guess that means Led Zep is delayed.
Avengers Endgame is the biggest grossing movie of all time so I guess it would sell well.
Can't see Stern getting all the assets though.
AVENGERS: ENDGAME (2019) // $2,790,200,000
AVATAR (2009) // $2,789,700,000
TITANIC (1997) // $2,187,500,000
STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS (2015) // $2,068,200,000
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018) // $2,048,400,000
JURASSIC WORLD (2015) // $1,671,700,000
MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS (2012) // $1,518,800,000
FURIOUS 7 (2015) // $1,516,000,000
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015) // $1,405,400,000
BLACK PANTHER (2018) // $1,346,900,000
Quoted from Micky:I got this email the other day from EB Games here in Australia.
If it is marvel then it might be this.
The new Marvel Avengers game comes out soon.
[quoted image][quoted image]
That would make a lot of sense coming out next week.
Simultaneous release and all the assets.
Trailer just out.
Quoted from jonesjb:Looks like Kaneda called it again! Stern is releasing an Avengers soon - according to Stern’s official Twitter, just like Kaneda predicted.
LOL.
He predicted Queen.
I think Venom would make a cool pin.
Funniest Marvel movie yet.
Looking forward to see what Keith has put into Avengers
Quoted from westofrome:Wonder if Elwin will continue his streak of no scoops or saucers.
From memory he was adding some retro feature he really likes in this game.
Check out a podcast that he recently did interview for.
Can't remember which one it was.
I love my Stern music pins but the detail and thought that have gone into GnR is incredible.
I can't imagine another music pin being as good.
The immersion factor is going to be crazy.
Quoted from Diamond:Foo fighters?? Oh man. Hope that is later in 2021. I’ve already bought in on a Zeppelin LE. Wallet needs time to fill back up.
Think I would want JJP to do Foo Fighters and work with Dave.
That would be a CE for me!
Quoted from mrclean:I think more demand will be for the upcoming:
BACK TO THE FUTURE by Stern / Kapow.
The SLE will be 88 total pieces.
They will likely have a Flying Hover Board / Deloreon as the topper/ possibly a interactive Flux Capacitor.
3-level playfield.
Main - set in 1985 / 1955 present themed
Below - set in 1885 western themed
Above - set in 2015 future themed
Can’t wait to hang out in Hill Valley no matter the year!
Guessing Keith is doing this?
Stern are going to sell a gazillion of these!
Quoted from Psw757:Where is @ mnpinball ehen you need him? He would know and said one more before LZ week before AIQ announced. So here we are.
He has already said LZ is a 3 tier release.
Richie/Sexton.
Quoted from BallPin:Geez, I don't get a whole lotta love here, but I heard as early as tomorrow, but most likely Tuesday.
Led Zeppelin?
Quoted from onemoresean:Zeppelin hints?
It's on this thread ages ago that it's Led Zep.
3 tiered model.
Ritchie/Sexton.
Mnpinball called it.
Quoted from Sako-TRG:I just cannot see Plant doing call outs for Zep.
So is that going to leave Ritchie?
The art needs to be on point as the album art over their era wasn’t great to be honest.
If this doesn’t have the full assets and at least 15 song titles then I’m afraid Peeps will compare it to GnR and dump on it.
Would be disappointing if it were Ritchie call outs again.
Whilst it will be compared to GnR, Stern won't care.
They will have sold, produced and delivered all their LE's while JJP customers still check their emails for delivery dates!
Quoted from BallPin:When I said Stern's next title was going to be released soon (2 weeks ago), people said I was full of BS, and my response was "I don't get a whole lotta love here", which is an obvious Led Zeppelin song. I also posted I don't want to spoil it, it's not Led Zeppelin, meaning it is Led Zeppelin. Like I don't want to spoil it for you, Santa is Real. I also said now, (meaning before the year ends) would be good timing to release this machine as it's Zeppelin's 50th anniversary.
It was predicted at least 6 months ago in this thread, so need something about the actual game, if you want to shine.
Quoted from BallPin:This is Stern...it's a plastic cut out with LEDs, and wouldn't be surprised if they pushed it to $1200 because it has some sort of song attached to it that will be unlocked in the game.
Well, that is news!
Can only get a the song if you buy the topper.
Gotta squeeze those Zep fans
Quoted from BallPin:I totally made up the topper thing lol. But I wouldn't be surprised if they went that route.
Too believable though
I will definitely pick up a pro....one day in a year or so.
Seeing nothing in the premium/LE that would be worth the extra cash.
One of my kids just looked at artwork, and rated pro the best, followed by premium and last was the LE!
Liking the sound of the rules on Zep.
Getting gold records and then going for platinum, with high risk/reward of building up huge multipliers.
I think the pro is going to be a real good player.
To complete the set, there are 50 minutes of songs, which is too long for most people to achieve.
Tim has said he might adjust, so short cuts might or some kind of SOS ruleset might do the trick.
Hope the call outs are good.
And pretty good there is concert footage from the actual concerts on the playfield.
I think it's got to the point with Stern, that I am only interested in Keith games or Lyman coded games.
These two guys have been huge for Stern
Quoted from fooflighter:Here's My "Take my Money Now!" Wishlist in no particular order except BTTF wins it all...I just turned 48 for reference
Music Pins:
Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Cage the Elephant, Queen, Weezer
Movie Pins:
BTTF, Superman, Christmas Vacation, Jaws, Matrix, Die Hard, Mandalorian, Top Gun
Video Game Pins:
Call of Duty, Halo, Mario, Half Life, Doom, Need for Speed
Foo Fighters.
25 year back catalog - still huge today.
Imagine Dave Grohl doing all the call outs - he has so much passion for every project - it would be awesome!
And Keith to complete the dream team
Quoted from greenstreet:Hearing Elwin lobbying for his next rock pin to be from his era. He's 49y old... RHCP?
[quoted image]
Hopefully he gets Foo Fighters.
Too soon for a cornerstone release.
VE of some sort.
A lot of brown visible.
Not KISS - just looked at my playfield!
Quoted from sushko:I can't believe that they are going to have a new game coming so soon. Stern is pumping games out so fast.
I would be amazed if it's a cornerstone.
If it is, it shows the effect of the 25% European tariff and how many sales they have lost.
Gotta be a vault edition - not had one for a while.
GOT?
AC/DC?
Hope it's AC/DC with new artwork and we get the code update
Think it's most likely to be an online gaming network, if not that, then a vault.
The trophies in AIQ - Keith said Stern were working on something that would make sense of these.
Quoted from Dantesmark:Prolly not announcing today... would of heard about a distro meeting by now.
Thats because it's an announcement about online gaming!
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:For what it's worth Kaneda has said the next Stern pin is a Brian Eddy machine, has Zombie Yeti art, is a modern theme (not 80s or 90s throwback), and is due out in a few weeks.
Have to think it may be James Bond.
Quoted from Pin_Fandango:well, cobra kai, is a hard pass for me... the acting in that show is cringe worthy.
I watched the show, but no way would I spend $6000 on a pinball with this theme!
Can't see how it would make a good game at all.
Another reason I think it's NOT Mandalorean.
Premiered Nov 2019.
That is around 17 months ago.
Stern games typically take around 18 months from design to production.
Did Stern really start this game before anyone even saw an episode???
Kaneda and others are being fed plenty of red herrings!
Quoted from Scoot:You obviously must realize that the production of the show was at least 2 years in the making even before the first episode premiered. If in fact the Mandalorean is the next pin, they most likely had source material well before 17 months ago.
Yeah, for sure.
But at the time no one had a clue if the show would be any good.
Would Stern have started the game before the reviews started to flow in?
Quoted from Rarehero:They don't usually take that long. Ritchie takes long...the rest can crank 'em out. Stern has tight ties with Disney/Lucasfilm....and I'm sure the second they saw the show and "Baby Yoda", they locked in the license. It was an obvious hit from Day 1.
Agree.
But BTTF was supposedly coming out soon, and that would be a smash.
And it's just the kind of thing Stern would do - code name Man da lorean.
And then leak it and see where the leaks end up!
Love Mandalorian so won't be disappointed if it is.
My money is on BTTF but it's kind of a red/black bet.
Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:I say if it’s half as good as XMEN they have a winner on their hands. But will it have as many cool toys?
Exactly. What if I they mean DeepRoot’s interpretation of soon? Mando in 2023!
Surely, you mean twice as good as XMEN?
So any truth that Journey might be Borg's game?
Really hoping Rush is code name for Journey.
Lyman and Journey could be an epic ride.
Don't stop believin', it may be true!
Quoted from RobT:I think you are correct
Spooky have never gone back on their word once they say how many games will be made.
500, that's it I think.
Wonder how many will make it to Japan?
Quoted from Makakka:Thats the reason I bailed out of RM. After the order books closed it was revealed RM had NO wizard mode only flat code. I got flag by demanding a wizard mode but even after it got one it was just not enough code so I ran for the hills. So thx for the info. I pass here bc spooky learned nothing. Nothing.
Spooky are still working on R&M code I believe, so can't really judge it fully yet.
Quoted from Our_Man_in_Oz:Right now I'll take either version of Godzilla, classic or latest. Just want a theme with good gameplay that appeals given I've now passed on Mando, Halloween and Ultraman. Also getting to be a long break from Sterns for me since getting JP2.
Godzilla and Elwin could be epic.
Needs a great sound package though.
Any ideas what music would be used?
https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/70137744
I figure I best watch this RUSH documentary as I really need to see why so many people dig this band.
Lyman on code is huge.
Just hope he gets time to fix the AC/DC Oi Mania bug!!!!
I couldn't name a single RUSH song, but after watching the netflix documentary, their music is perfect for pinball.
If they get callouts from one of the band members, with Lyman code, it will do way better than people expect.
That's my prediction anyway!
Quoted from beelzeboob:They should be able to get the guys to do callouts...one's dead and the other two aren't up to much anymore. I would think they'd be thrilled to contribute.
Maybe the pin will be a kind of tribute.
If the 2 guys left contribute, watch all the LE's sell out on Day 1.
Was MET Lyman's last music pin?
Quoted from gambit3113:The rumor is that Steve is out at Stern and is headed to JJP imminently. I have opinions as to the fit of the man and the company, but shall keep them to myself as less than constructive.
**I am only relaying rumor, and have no personal knowledge of its veracity.
That would be a strange fit.
Ritchie games are always fast.
JJP games are always slow.
Quoted from onemilemore:Guess we're not getting Rush with Lyman on code?
My only interest on the Rush game was that Lyman was on code.
Big loss for Stern.
Quoted from luvthatapex2:pinballnews article yesterday said Lyman left stern end of last year. How this was not reported until now is surprising.
I guess it's not surprising Stern did not not want it widely known.
They have lost one of their best assets and he is not really replaceable.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:Ive had Maiden pro for 3yrs. Never leaving.
Had AIQ premium for 7mo. Love the shots. Not my style of code i guess.
Got JP pro about two weeks ago. Love the shots.....pretty much ready to sell it already.
Maiden code is a hit with novice and pro alike.
Other Elwin titles have evolved into elite level code. I can see why some people want this in a home game but its still a bit much. He is easily my favourite layout designer but im getting bummed out by the code i think. We got JP and Mando on the same day and Mando has been getting all the play. Im still excited for the next Elwin titles but they arent instantly on my wishlist anymore.
For me it's sound packages.
Maiden has an awesome one, AIQ and JP, not so much.
Nothing Keith can do about that unfortunately.
Sounding like price increase on next game?
Wonder if we are about to get spike 3 and some form of online play?
Quoted from PinMonk:Maybe the fabled quieter power supply fan Gomez said was coming a year ago? Wonder if it's a new power supply or if Stern finally just asked Meanwell to put a quieter fan in the existing model for their orders (which they said they would do if Stern just asked...).
Well, Spooky have gone quiet now, so maybe.
I do think Godzilla is going to have the new platform, whatever that is.
Quoted from Hoteldrummer:My submissions
Men In Black
Time Bandits
Monsters vs Aliens
Clash of Titans (Original but I'll take the new one as well or Wrath of the Titans)
Any damn Pixar movie, just pick one
Beavis and Butthead
Foreigner (Gotta have a Dad Rock one in there)
The Brady Bunch (Yeah I know, but it doesn't get any campier than this, imagine the call outs)
Muse
Land of the Lost (Or any campy as heck Krofft show for that matter)
Pink Floyd the Wall
The obvious:
Beetlejuice
Avatar
Matrix
Sonic the Hedgehog
Any freaking Nintendo license
Pink Floyd has got to be done sometime surely?
Quoted from manadams:If there is a Foo Fighters pin coming, I hope it has nothing to do with this cringe fest....yikes!!!
That would be a real curve ball if the game is based on this movie.
Wonder how many iconic tracks it has in the movie?
Quoted from J85M:Queen is coming but likely from pinball brothers.
https://www.pinballnews.com/site/2021/09/29/queen-pinball-revealed/
Was hoping Stern would do Queen - can PB do Queen justice?
On proto evidence, the jury is out.
Quoted from J85M:Proto playfield looks crap, the layout could do with a total redesign.
And would prefer classic Queen artwork!
Mirrored backglass like this, and I would be half way there!
_86352291_bohemianrhapsody (resized).jpgQuoted from NC_Pin:Stern's price will be interesting. I am not sure TS4 sold as well as hoped.
The market has cooled.
TS4 release kind of reminded me of lastminute.dot.com, if anybody remembers that in the tech crash in around 2000.
Prices for new games, especially TS4 are ludicrous.
At this point I am seriously wondering if my NIB days really are over.
Stern pros represent most value for money but they keep going up as well!
Quoted from kool1:Stern is a business and if their costs go up and they don't think they are temporary increases they will have to raise prices. They can't operate at a loss.
The good news is we are seeing some commodity and transport costs falling a little so hopefully they can hold the line. I have a feeling we will still see some increases soon though.
Can't imagine there won't be a price increase on the next cornerstone.
Especially after TS4 prices.
I remember talking to Jack in 2012 and he told me it was his goal to have lower prices than Stern games, but with more mechs.
Fast forward to 2022
Quoted from Kkoss24:Who the hell is 10CC ?
Can't believe there is anyone who hasn't heard this song?
Quoted from Ballderdash:At 32:49 Gary says of DE BTTF - “It was a great game, it’s a pretty dated title right now”
What does that mean?
I just watched the interview.
My take is that Gary has confirmed to me they have BTTF.
Listen to the interview... Gary never talks down his back catalog.
Why would he diss an old Stern title? It's not his style.
He was having fun with the interviewer, pretending it's an old, dated title, knowing they are going to remake it.
Only time will tell, but that is my analysis!
Quoted from BasementFacts:If everyone knows besides us, why not just post them here and save everyone the trouble? People posting they want BTTF have as much right to be here as the “insiders” giving us all the “facts” (but of course can’t back it up with sources).
Not an insider but reading this thread it would seem that most likely are -
Venom
Bond
Jaws
Although that makes me wonder what the next music pin is?
Foo Fighters? Jack D.
Quoted from crujones4life:Then he must know BTTF is coming. I love how these people know so much but can't say shit. Just share what you know without giving up your source. Tell someone else and have them share. All this secrecy is bullshit. I know BTTF is in development. I choose to share that info with you. Someone(s) shared that info with me 2nd hand. See how easy that is? Now nobody knows who told me and I told you.
Gary's answer in that recent video, also told me that they are working on BTTF.
Only question is when.
Guessing September 2023.
Quoted from mnpinball:Stern next cornerstone I hear is a music pin...... keep dreaming on that BTTF
Foo Fighters, Jack Danger?
Quoted from pinmister:Time to put on the Matlock Hat and figure out the next Stern. The clues are: it is a music pin, perhaps Eddy up in the lineup, due to be announced late December.
Lots of rumors in the air... Billy Joel, Elton John, Ozzy, Van Halen
We need to sit down and get to the bottom of this one-inquiring minds want to know
[quoted image][quoted image]
Elton John is JJP right?
And Bon Jovi has been mentioned a fair bit for Stern, and Foo Fighters of course.
Quoted from Thunderbird:The pricing is outrageous for you. Incredible that Stern is killing the golden goose. Over the $20k mark is unreal. Will people buying at that price ever hope to get their money back if they decide to sell?
Pinball has been an abnormal hobby for a good few years as people expect to buy a new game, play it, and then get money back or make a profit.
Highly unusual behaviour in the world of consumables.
That said, there is one thing moving a game on and taking a small loss, as opposed to a huge hit.
At these prices, huge hits on re-sale will be the new normal.
Quoted from fooflighter:Wow, I got 3 out of 3 ...Run was a pleasant surprise on the Official List
Was hoping, expecting Run, as what do you do when aliens arrive?
Wonder how many songs will be tied into modes?
Quoted from pinballaddicted:Ohhh. Care to share what they are?
Venom?
Jaws?
BTTF?
Think it's Venom and Jaws, not BTTF.
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:Back to the future was released before I was born. I love the movies. Showed my kids (7,9,11) the movies... they loved them. Wife loves them. Parents love them. I think it is a theme that appeals to many generations and would sell like hot cakes.
Maybe it's the next Raw Thrills title?
Another throw back title, like PF.
Quoted from starfighter:Cobra Kai is dead. The development agreement expired.
Watched every series, but can't see pin appeal in this one.
Quoted from RA77:Futurama FTW.[quoted image]
I get the feeling Spooky will do Futurama.
Quoted from J85M:Zombie Yeti on Venom artwork so it should look amazing, layout is supposed to be very cool, im excited for this one, love the theme, love ZY, just hope Eddy brings a killer layout with it.
Open minded as I remember the negativity when it was mentioned a year or so ago that Stern had FF in the pipeline!
I think with the characters it has in the game, Venom could be another sleeper.
For me depends on the sound package as found Avengers uninspiring.
If it has Ozzy tracks, watch Pinside do another U-turn
What am I missing with Goonies?
I can't get why a lot of people think it's such a great theme for pinball?
Would it be a big seller?
Maybe it is niche enough to do well, who knows.
Add a 50th anniversary Iron Maiden special edition in 2025.
Hopefully a nice code update with it as well.
If Stern do Pokemon they can have fun with marketing ideas.
Maybe all 1000 LE's come with unopened collectable cards, packs of 5.
And as is the way, there is one gold, super rare one.
Quoted from PinStalker:Incredible game. Love it.
Stern's output is staggering now. How many re-runs since the factory opened? STH, JP30, EHOH, GOTG.... that's in only two months!!
At least with re-runs there are code updates for all.
Looking forward to the 25th anniversary Iron Maiden edition in 2025.
Quoted from Jaytech10:I think that Pokémon is better theme than jaws(no movieassets). And it will sell well. DragonBall or the DBZ would be great for my location. These Anima hipsters put a lot money in them. If Pokémon does good. Hopefully they will do more nintendo licenses. Like Zelda, metroid, super Mario bros. Punch out like champion pub.
If Jaws has no movie assets, it will be interesting to see how it sells.
Quoted from Rizmo:From the Flip N Out facebook page it says "Watching a movie that will become a pinball machine by the end of 2024." So either it means that if it is Jaws it wont be the next release or Stern has another movie franchise locked down.
Could be watching Fifth Element - BOF next game maybe??
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:I'll ad to this by saying: Stern certainly isn't worried about TCM and LT from Spooky. Look how well Halloween/Ultraman went over. I love Spookys enthusiasm, support, and value for the money, but for me, personally (don't roast me), their shot geometry just feels odd more often than not. Stern is definitely dominating the market right now, and they're just scratching the surface on what Insider Connected can achieve. I'm not a "pokemon" guy, but Pokémon tied in with IC properly ....... come on...... that's a money train for operators and huge sales for Stern. Stern is smart to let Spooky reveal first.
Spooky will take 10 million dollars plus off the table next week, so this has to worry Stern, as collectors do not have bottomless pockets right now.
I am kind of expecting a Jaws teaser next Tuesday, just to pause those Spooky sales.
Quoted from Sorokyl:According to Kaneda today from a source that has never been wrong: brand new Metallica game will be spike 3 launch title, coming this year (or maybe early next).
There was talk ages ago that Metallica were walking around the Stern factory, saw the newer Spike games and said 'we want our game like that'!
Completely new game makes sense.
It's a huge title and LE's would sell out Day 1, just like it did when it first came out.
Also Metallica are great at doing all the call outs etc, unlike other bands who do zero.
Quoted from mbl1116:Nothing is selling out Day 1. Esp if not an Elwin
Jaws Le did right?
Sell out Day 1 for Stern that is.
Quoted from MegaFeenix:John Wick? If we are spending the money to get Keanu’s likeness (and I hope we are), it should be for the Matrix or Cyberpunk 2077. A Cyberpunk pinball doesn’t need Johnny but it would be cool. I would also take a Bill and Ted pin.
It sure would be strange if JJP release Matrix at same time.
2 x Keanu in quick succession.
Quoted from beelzeboob:Yeah, there isn't the stairway he wanted in there, but a lot of people still think the game is great and won't sell theirs for the foreseeable future.
LZ could have been a lot better for sure.
The Zeppelin was probably meant to be a 3 ball lock.
And the expensive song... of course it was meant to be there.
That said, when you get deep into playing a game of LZ, it really is a feel good game.
The unique multiplier creates fantastic risk/reward moments.
Not selling mine!
Quoted from Roostking:Pinball is upbeat, PF music is not. Maybe if it were actually the 70s with the slower play style, but I dont see how it could work in a pin. Not bashing PF the music, love em.
I think a game based on the Wall album would work - a mix of tempos and great concept and there was an animated movie.
Will never get done though.
Or maybe it was this movie?
