Quoted from gorditas:

My understanding is that this is it. Game Exchange might have one slot left.

They last called BM66 in 2019. Guess they saw demand for more. Good to see them making more since I've seen premiums sell for more than MSRP. Crap has gotten out of hand.

#19256 2 years ago

Matt Frank, the artist on the Ultraman pin, has a lot of Godzilla art on his webpage. He'd be a good pick as well.

#19329 2 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

*sigh* yes, we all know a little upstart from Jersey named Jack wanted to....blah blah blah. The point is they had just made FGY and had PFs laying around...it wasn't 7 years later.
EDIT: Did they really only make FGYs in 2007? I could be wrong there...assumed they went longer like now.

More monies, more time, more hours; for what outcome? Is Stern having problems selling games?
EDIT: That's not even mentioning that it's just lazy as shit

Jack had nothing to do with Shrek. Dreamworks approached Stern asking then to do a Shrek pin. Gary has told this story a few times at expos. They didn't want to invest full R&D in a Shrek pin, so they reskinned Family Guy which wasn't selling well at the time. And it wasn't because they had playfields laying around. It's not like they sanded them down and had Shrek printed on them. They made more runs of Family Guy at later dates and another run of Shrek in 2010.

Did someone say Land Shark?

Candygram. I love that series of skits.

Quoted from PinMonk:

Probably a contributing factory for why there's a bigger than usual Stern price bump in Sept.
I really doubt it's actually Godzilla, though. Godzilla-sized theme (harry potter, back to the future, etc)? Yes. But Stern supposedly has the Toho Godzilla license, so who knows?

Stern has already had their yearly price bump. What do you mean a price bump in Sept?

#19627 2 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

I mean a large, out of cycle price bump. Aligning it with Keith's next game in Sept makes sense as people will line up for it regardless of the size of the full-line bump.

That sux. I sold my AIQ pro with plans to add a small amount to it to get Keith's next pro.

#19632 2 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

It's Godzilla. Designed by Keith.

I sure hope this large price increase thing is a rumor or meant for the next kapow title which would make more sense. Still Stern has had their annual increase and should leave it as is till next year.

#19647 2 years ago
Quoted from Purdue:

Admittedly I'm not much of Godzilla fan. I do understand the huge cult following the franchise has and thats great, to each their own!
I am having a hard time seeing classic Toho Godzilla translating to modern stern pinball. Spooky did have a successful launch of smaller franchise with similar type art, although spooky numbers and stern numbers are on vastly different scales.
If I am understanding it right, toho godzilla also encompasses the modern Godzilla universe (king of the monsters/ vs Kong). Is that the rumored direction? I could see that working for a Stern Elwin theme.
Honestly i guess you can throw any theme on a Elwin design and people are gonna buy the heck out of it.[quoted image][quoted image]

Universal Studios is the defacto owner of King Kong today, so if Kong was part of a Stern Godzilla, they'd have an additional licensor to pay and please. This is why I believe the game will be based solely on Toho stuff not involving Kong or other studios.

#19702 2 years ago
Quoted from mbrave77:

hoping with 500 increase the BOM could go up a bit. Dont expect all 500 but would be nice to get an extra mech here or there.

Who is saying the next game will be a $500 increase? Are distributors saying this? I've enquired about (rumored) Godzilla and was not advised it will be more expensive than Mando.

#19704 2 years ago
Quoted from gambit3113:

Distros won’t know until the game is announced to them formally.

If that's the case, where are the increase rumors coming from? In my opinion Stern "needs" to keep that Pro price under 6K to still be an attractive entry level price. "The Pin" isn't gonna cut it lol.

#19706 2 years ago
Quoted from gambit3113:

The Pro won’t have the mech, thus price won’t increase most likely.

I guess I'm not up to speed on Godzilla rumors. So, there is supposed to be super cool mech in the premium/le that will increase them from 7700 to around 8200?

#19725 2 years ago

I could totally see an increase with BTTF, especially if Kapow. I just don't know why they would jack the price up on Godzilla, a regular release.

Quoted from hiker2099:

I know it’s not the worse but it grossed the 3rd lowest amount in the franchise.

That's because people wanted Sean. That was THE first changing of the guard in the Bond series. Of course there would be backlash. People not going to see it simply because it wasn't Sean, etc.

#20174 2 years ago
Quoted from Only_Pinball:

That's correct. I think it was 300 and jumped 500. Looks like it's going up again to $9200. Ouch.

Stern can fuck right off with that shit. That's almost $2K in price increases for the boutique titles since they became a thing. $9200 for a premium model? Ridiculous. I truly hope people will cancel orders or not order at all and make a stand.

Quoted from hiker2099:

Craig is my second favorite. But for sure has that “smoldering intensity” Plus The jokes he has during Casino Royale when he’s being tortured with a knot Will forever be the funniest moment in Bond history. “ to the left to the left“

Same here. T. Dalt for the win.

#20270 2 years ago

So, with Godzilla, forward, we will be forced to take this new kit even if we are using the game in a home and may not want it? Sacrificing half of the apron art for it, also? Guess the positive side would be, it looks like pros will have metal aprons again lol.

#20330 2 years ago
Quoted from ultimategameroom:

I have no interest in this insider connection BS.
On the other hand Weird Al’s Polka Party sounds like the best new title in a very long time!

And you know Al would be all over the callouts. They would be great. Whacky, energetic, etc.

#20336 2 years ago
Quoted from luvthatapex2:

Tron and Transformers were WAY less than that.

Yep, my late run Tron (decals with CLU translite) was $4400 shipped to my door. Still kick myself for selling it. Ugh.

#20457 2 years ago
Quoted from mbrave77:

except that damn left outlane. got so frustrated with that one early and sold my TMNT LE early on. I do miss it a bit though. I think its zombie yetis best art over the last few years.

The left outlane on almost all Borg games is a bitch. Whenever he uses that double inlane with metal divider, it screws you over so much.

#20475 2 years ago
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

I think you just answered your own question

Other popular terms: getting Borged or getting Avatared.

#20509 2 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Just got the stern army email. Game is being released on 9/8. Boom!

So, a tease today, or no tease?

#20511 2 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

We will see everything Tuesday. Then this webinar for stern army folks will be Wednesday.

Stern Army, meaning the paid version of Stern Insider?

#20515 2 years ago
Quoted from finnflash:

Stern Insider is the paid version of Stern Insider

I have Stern Insider. The basic free version.

#20547 2 years ago
Quoted from Chambahz:

What does that mean exactly? Images and a possible video, with descriptions of the Pro/Premium/LE models on Tuesday, presumably...
but what's implied to take place the following day? Are we thinking that some have already been produced and will ship immediately? Or that Distributors will be allowed to take orders? (Can't imagine they announce on Tuesday and start shipping on Wednesday)

Erik said everything on the 8th, so I believe no teaser on this one.

#20719 2 years ago
Quoted from frankmac:

Godzilla is code name for “JAWS” ?

Looking at my TWD, the code name was Dinner Time. Spiderman's code name was Spiderm. Balls were dropped on that one lol.

Quoted from beltking:

Art blades are on eBay.

Free shipping too, nice.

#21018 2 years ago
Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

Maybe there is some leeway with the older games. Newer ones still show the 600 and 1k increase.

That hemispheresamusements one shows as in stock and shipping now over current MSRP. Those machines won't have any of the new connected stuff. Looks like they are just charging a premium for it if you want it now.
We should know next week what the official word will be. Hoping for those with pre-orders it is not the prices shown at cointaker

The Hemisphere also states it comes with Stern Insider Connected installed and free shipping. I do, however, doubt that it is actually in stock.

#21409 2 years ago

Jeez. I might break my pro only rule. Looks really interesting from the quick vid.

#21625 2 years ago

I believe Keith owns a ton of games. Not sure if they are all at his home. He had about 40 pins of his on loan to the Replay Foundation. I assume he got them back when they closed up shop.
