Stern continuing to produce BM66 has my hopes up for a renewed license and vault for Ghostbusters.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:My bet would be they are done with DMD games with the possible exception of more one-off low production paid-for contract games like Heavy Metal. And people need to give up on the "LCD Update!" dream, they aren't gonna redo old DMD games as LCD games. Would be a huge pain in the ass and require time and resources better spent on a new title.
Would normally agree but Ghostbusters, LOTR and some other DMDs are too big of titles not to..at some point. Who knows when but a DMD vault or LCD update will happen. Then Stern could add them into the production rotation like the rest of the 2016-2021 titles
Quoted from PinMonk:Let's hope not. As someone who fell for the Batman '66 SLE scam, I can absolutely say it was NOT worth it. The pin-striping was just vinyl stickers that came off as soon as you played a few games and heated up the lockdown bar with your hands. No SLE-specific replacement parts available. We had a defective coin door area decal that delaminated by the shooter plate. Tough titty, said Stern. No SLE cab replacement parts are available. On a $15k machine. SMH. Never again.
So are you selling? Sad to hear about the pinstripes. It’s one of the most beautiful machines I’ve seen. Own a premium and it’s a family favorite but I’ve always kept an eye out for the SLE if it ever popped up under 19k
I could see how SLE replacements could be an issue so maybe they’ll never go that route again. Still think there’s a lot of potential for a sweet LE BTTF
Quoted from crujones4life:So I am hearing Borg on Rush next but also Borg on BTTF after Rush...so how can that be? 2 games 1 playfield like Halloween/Ultraman? 1 new design and 1 reskin? Rush is code for BTTF?
It’s been reported that Gomez is working on something for Stern too so one of them could be GG.
Quoted from shaub:Do you happen to know where this was reported?
Gomez's style would certainly mesh well with Ritchie's so he seems like the perfect guy to take it to the finish line, if true.
Read it somewhere and someone else on here had claimed George told them the same thing but didn’t give clues.
Godzilla LE powder coat gives me less hope for a BTTF pin in the next year.
Quoted from gambit3113:BTTF LE armor should be brushed stainless steel, like the DeLorean.
Thank you for coming to my BTTF Design Ted Talk.
Topper ideas? definitely has to be interactive and on ghostbusters, BM66 level of cool.
Soundtrack could be epic.
Quoted from gambit3113:Plutonium case that opens.
[quoted image]
Coin door like this would be hot
Anyone see “Into the Spiderverse”? If Stern could recreate the style and art from the movie, it would be stunning. The movie was one of the biggest surprises. Absolutely loved it and think it has so much content to make a great pin
Quoted from PinballManiac40:VE's are no longer needed with the backorders on new games.
With the updated tech, Stern could make a killing on Ghostbusters VE and put it in the production rotation for years like BM66. GBLE is approaching $20k now.
Quoted from cpr9999:GBLE on archive sales is not $20k
With topper. Should have clarified. Toppers selling $3000+
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Sounds like you are trying to convince me, one who does not work for Stern. What I posted came from an interview, likely Gomez, about VE games.
Probably trying to convince myself. I want an impossible to find LE with topper
Quoted from Roostking:The whole point of a vault is to keep the line running in slow times. Stern is not in slow times. Might not see vaults for years at this point.
I get that. When was the last VE? Unfortunately GB was released a year or two too early. If it were 2015/2016, it would still be on the production rotation.
Now back to the show..
Will Bond be original artwork and illustrated characters? Trying to picture the game objectives and animations
Quoted from J85M:Weird strategy? I think it’s a smart business move in my opinion. Demand is through the roof for this title and parts are in short demand with prices sky high for parts, so why not make a special limited run knowing you will sell them the minute you announce them?
Besides who gives a a damn about those buying up LEs to hold them for a profit, sucks to be them I guess, besides credit where credit is due, at least they didn’t do a JJP YBR and charge more for less.
Makes me a little hesitant to put up money for some LE and SLE titles. If your argument is correct, they’ll remake Ghostbusters soon (stay puft marshmallow edition)
Quoted from PinBalt:Hearing Marvel comic theme. Im struggling what character(s) would be worth doing. Already covered Spiderman, Deadpool, Iron man, Whole Avengers team, Xmen. Who the hell is left worth doing? My gut tells me its Spiderman. More of the classic comic look Spiderman and not the shitty Utimate version reskin. They could do the Spiderverse approach, Miles Morales and different villians .
I said this awhile back on this thread but the art on an Into the Spiderverse machine could be absolutely amazing. The music is great too. LE would be automatic.
I wouldn’t complain about a 90s X-men either tho. Thought about pulling the trigger on a Wolverine edition but it just doesn’t hold up to any modern pin.
Quoted from hiker2099:When I listen to the podcast it sounded like it was going to be a $25K machine. Just my thoughts.
I could see 20k. Hard to imagine 25
The gameplay on Pokémon would be so satisfying. Catching and battling trainers. Pokeball pinballs, evolving what’s been caught etc. could go deeeep. Big nerd here.. sorry
Quoted from gregh43:Stern is losing its edge. I would rather see a PRINCE Pinball over Rush . Prince is a Musical Genius Superstar. who deserves the Pinball Honor. or Eddy VanHalen Tribute Pinball. I predict low sales on Rush Machine. what a boring themed Pinball it will be.
Prince would be cool. If I ever bought a music pin, Id love to see something like a new “Warped Tour” machine and they license individual songs from 2000s artists like video games do.
If Venom uses the Deadpool formula. Comic book art, humor, mix of characters… I’m in. If it’s licensed from the recent movies, big pass.
Does strict Disney licensing mean Venom will be made off recent movie? Not sure if Disney owned Marvel when Deadpool was in development
Quoted from Ballderdash:Stern should absolutely announce the title right now. It would pull every last bit of wind out of TS4 sails/sales.
Even a teaser image of a shark, venom eyes, bond vibe, flux capacitor would create so much buyers remorse
Quoted from crujones4life:[quoted image]
Just this
719B63F3-0D6B-4978-9768-8E699B0A8361 (resized).jpegQuoted from PinMonk:It's Prem/LE/SLE so Kapow gets their cut with the inflated pricing they bring.
All I can say after buying a NIB Batman '66 SLE is the SLE level is a total and utter ripoff. Stern didn't even stock enough SLE parts for defective/warranty claims. Never again.
Do you still have the SLE? Was my pops favorite show so I’ve wanted to upgrade my premium
Quoted from Pinhead1982:So are we pretty sure it’s BOND next..
My distributor has changed the rules of pre order!
£1000 non refundable on “the next Stern LE”
If it’s not BOND or BTTF then i’m SOL and will either loose deposit or have to buy the next game…
This is nuts!
I’m a fan of this business move. Probably annoying going down the list to see who want it or who want to pass. Opens up spots for some others ready to buy. Hard to go wrong if you’re in the market for a pin right now. Venom, Bond, BTTF all good themes. If a music pin was on the horizon, it’d be risky
Quoted from kapaun:Sorely missing any good Christmas pin and Elf would be fantastic!
Elf is top 5 Christmas movies for me. Home Alone and Christmas Vacation would make great pins. Vegas Vacation would be fun too
Has a multi band pin ever been made? If video games license a collection of songs, not sure why a pin couldn’t. Warped Tour vibe with a collection of early 2000s punk music. Skate themed with ramps, Concrete pool etc.
Quoted from Yoko2una:Warped Tour is good, but I think Tony Hawk (especially with a bunch of Goldfinger and 90s punk and hip hop) would be the tits. Quarter pipes w/ magnets (like AIQ), ramps that are like rails and ledges, and even Champion Pub jump ramps on the edges of the PF to allow wall riding on the inside of the cabinet would be a home run theme for us in our late 30s - early 40s.
The experience would be really immersive and not sure you would even want a multiball with the theme. Trying to string together combos similar to THPS would be amazing.
Quoted from Pin_Fandango:Pics just leaked.
Games looks packed
Not sure it’s a must own for me. They captured the old look almost too well. I’m sure it will be fun and I’m excited to play it at location. Was hoping for some Casino Royal elements like poker and roulette
Can we get a better Star Wars? The biggest theme in the galaxy has one of the most underwhelming pins and the other one is too specific like (TS4)
Quoted from Pinbarclay:Can you imagine how much the value of OG Ghostbusters pins will crater if Stern re-releases the thing with a fixed gap and an LCD? Not that Stern should only care about collectors and re-sellers, but the pain would be real.
Machines go down but topper sky rockets even more? 3k to 6k lol. - GBLE owner with topper
After reading the article it seemed like there were so many things that would need to occur for this vault to happen.
Quoted from EaglePin:As someone who's bought Stern LE's, my lesson with this seems to be that there's no need to buy an initial Stern LE run anymore.
If you don't totally like an LE or can't get ahold of one for the first LE they make, then you can sit back and wait to see if you like the next LE package they're going to make. And maybe buy a pro while you wait.
Agree that it’s not the smartest long term business decision. When the market is flooded with new premiums, this was not needed. Most loyal deep pocket customers may hold off on future impulse buys.
I think they’ll end up needing to be very transparent with future LEs or maybe they start making more SLEs.. as a NEW hobbyist, I’m definitely feeling like I don’t need to scoop up old LEs anymore.
Quoted from herbertbsharp:Awesome, looks like pro and premium!
Nice catch. Is this considered a vault or was it just paused?
JJP Harry Potter going to make Jaws look like a home pin. Hope Stern wakes up and spends more budget on sculpts and features.
Quoted from Capn12:You mean, like these sculpts?
[quoted image]
Ok you got me with Toy Story.. I’m not a fan of the slow JJP games and much prefer Stern however, the world inside the cabinets are far more immersive than Venom and Jaws.
I’d love to see a music pin with songs from different artists. License each song individually like video games do. Could be a “Warped Tour” theme
THPS (Tony Hawk Pro Skater) would also be a lot of fun. 8-10 songs from the game and rails/ramps to hit sounds perfect
Quoted from vikingerik:THPS using AIQ's layout is the game I didn't know I needed until this moment
Glad you agree and that combo would be the definition of an immersive pin. If they could work in a quarter pipe simulation and a feature similar to Toy Story ramp, could be epic. “Here I am, doing everything I can”
Quoted from pinmister:Wonder if Stern pays attention to these hype rumor threads to evaluate potential interest in a particular theme?
Not hearing much chatter on D & D or Wick? Journey-50/50, Pokemon-70%, Metallica-100%, Tony Hawk-50/50, HE MAN 50/50, Indy-70%, X-MEN 97-40%
Meanwhile at Stern... [quoted image]
Mr. Danger drops in this thread periodically. I suggested Pokémon and THPS a few years ago and believe I am solely responsible for the developments /s
