I heard that for Stern's next game, the pro version has no theme or code at all. Just parts. For the Premium (extra $1,500), you get a theme, but no toys, and still no code. Also no warranty. Code, toys, and warranty come only on the Super-LE (extra $3,000 and limited to only 100 units, all of which are sold already to rich pinball poseuers who joined the hobby less than two years ago but who each own at least 10 machines already (all Sterns)).

On one hand, yes, let people spend their money how they want to spend it, and if paying a buttload for an SLE makes them happy, good for them.

On the other hand, I don’t think I’ve seen anyone clearly offer this counterpoint: that when the Richie Rich’s of the world buy their $20k Rick and Morty and Big Lebowski games, it has ripple effects that filter down to the rest of the buying community. It makes people think their $2500 games should fetch $3900 and their $4500 games should fetch $6000 etc. So then buyers looking for a fair market value deal on a searched for game have to deal with greedy fools trying to “get theirs” for their average pins.

Quoted from kermit24:

Believe it or not, Stern did have a Muppets license secured at one point and decided not to make the game when the Muppet Show reboot a few years ago was a flop.

Muppets information coming from someone whose handle includes "kermit" is 100% true in my book.

Quoted from Thunderbird:

Agreed. Stern is not in the puzzle business and could care less about it. They are promoting pinball and the puzzle is all about Godzilla and not a samurai. I read, write and speak fluent Japanese and that is katakana for pinball written below the Stern logo. Stern would not have reason to show Japanese wording if it wasn’t about selling Godzilla the pinball machine (not a $6 puzzle) very soon.

So then, extending this logic, do we interpret the wizard puzzle to be hinting at a vault or other variation redoing LOTR?
