Totally unfounded and baseless rumor, but Monsters Inc.?

Came for the baseless speculation, but got a heavy dose of angst instead.

Quoted from beelzeboob:

Again...I think the pinball companies know their demographic.

I suspect you're correct, but we also hear they only build what the designers are excited about, so are Stern products more relfective of its designers (and they found the market segment that matches) or this is really what the market wants?

Quoted from ryanbrooks:

NBA and the NFL team pins weren’t exactly setting sales records…NHL would probably be the same. Very targeted market demographic. Look at the evolution of Stern in the past 20 years. They were making some duds, some so-so’s, and the occasional gem every 2-4 years. Look at them now. Seems like they crank out A-list games on a regular basis. Why? They’ve got the assets, staff, and capital to do it. They got where they are now because they got smart with their marketing. Not after the game is made and ready to ship, but pre-license marketing. They identified the best licenses for successful sales quotas, and pursued them. I’m not knocking Canada, or the NHL, but the number of hockey fans that are pinball enthusiasts is probably less than the number of pinball enthusiasts that are Rush fans…

I support the idea of a NHL pin because 1) I like hockey and 2) not many others do, so there's a chance I could buy one at a decent price!

C'mon Stern - make some unpopular decisions to help the shallow-pocketed!

Quoted from PinStalker:

I think he is just retired from acting. He could still do voiceover work with his (hopefully mild) dementia. An afternoon or two reading lines isn't that taxing and actually would be good for his condition and mental health. The worst thing you can do is nothing when you have mental health issues. Gotta stay engaged, active and feel like you're useful/productive.

Been reported that he has aphasia limiting his ability to communicate/speak.

Quoted from KidRichard:

Maybe a bit of a deep cut, but I think Sam & Max, Freelance Police would make for a pretty fun theme. I'd love to follow the pinball adventures of an unhinged, slightly psychotic lagomorph!

Milk and Cheese would be fantastic as well!

My hope is that those excited about Venom or Bond or BTTF will want to sell their DP or Godzilla to make room.

Sooooo, when do we expect the next title announcement? Jan 2023?

Quoted from Jaytech10:

The market is saturated with gz premiums. Won't be surprised if this is the last year that they make them.

Interesting. I'm certainly seeing them available but how do define saturated?

Quoted from MrBigg:

I read this pretty regularly, and I love the different takes on all sides, at all economic standpoint. I'm a construction worker, 55 years old, kids grown, and gone, and have been saving for a "newer pin going on 2 years now. I have a Coney island I restored, a Big Deal, a supersonic in restore phase, a delta queen, and a homebrew I built.
My wife and I fell in love with TMNT, and Valhalla, and have looked at, and played some of the newer games, foo, bond, Scooby-Doo, etc.
She wants a Wonka, I want a Valhalla, but both have settled on a TMNT. But here's the thing, while a lot of you are able to pull the trigger on new games, we, and most people I know who play, have to be very selective, and cautious with our money. Groceries have tripled as stated above, gas, and the like.
We don't over spend, and we are careful about bills, and don't put ourselves in the credit card bracket of debt.
That said, we have been looking at more gently used fomo games recently for our purchase than NIB games. My friends as well, are trying to take more advantage of what most discard, rather than the frenzy of what ever new comes out. Stern creates these buy it now, and we're sold out lies, people dump games, and it appears from guys I know, they, and myself soon, jump on the hit they take.
So of the 1%, I guess we are the sub 1%.
Just a different perspective I wanted to share from a lot of us out here that just can't blow $8000-13k on a machine.
I realize what's next is the topic, but for most of us out here, it's what's leftover.

Amen brother. Amen.
