Quoted from karl:The rumor I have heard is that there will be no Elvira 3 from Stern
Tragic I was ready to buy that one
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Elvira 3 will happen. Gomez mentioned they are waiting for a Software Engineer to get freed up.
Man, I hope so
Quoted from Sinestro:[quoted image]
Am I the only one that wishes it was Super Man II?
Come to me, son of Jor-El! Kneel before Zod!
terrence-stamp-as-general-zod-in-superman-ii (resized).jpgQuoted from lowbeau67:Well they basically filmed 1 and 2 at the same time. It's
Got to have zod and lex for sure. Hoping this is next since
JAWS rumor lost steam. Been saving up.
Oh cool! Funny thing is I have never even seen the first one, just 2. I grew up on that movie and liked it so much I didn't see a point in watching the others. I probably should watch the first one.
Quoted from jimwe5t:Would be great if we were all surprised and Brian Eddy new game was actually Godzilla released this summer! That would be a wow title for sure!!
I would go totally bonkers for that!
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:Let's hope that white board drawing really was a hidden clue
[quoted image]
No way Stern did that by accident. If I remember correctly, when they drop hints like that the game is typically a few releases away though.
IM is a weird pin to do now. I don't remember it selling like crazy when they vaulted it the first time. Price is too high for it too. I just bought a Jurassic Park Pro in like new condition for $4700, IM for $1k more? Nope.
Also, it's actually been longer between now and the last vault, than between the original release and the first vault. Now I feel old.
Quoted from NoQuarters:Plant Vagina scared me off Stranger Things.
A hole's a hole man.
Serious question: Do people 30 or under even know Back to the Future? Guys I know around 40 like it for sure, we all do, but at the same time it's not something we watch all the time. The trilogy feels kinda dated to me and I'm not sure it has appeal beyond nostalgia.
Quoted from Capn12:You can say that about 75-80% of the themes that Stern currently puts out. But...they keep selling, every time.
I should have mentioned it, but I was thinking about location play more than anything. I know it would sell well to the collector crowd.
Quoted from Bwheels:Look it up! Art is amazing, music is amazing, definitely not family friendly so view at your own risk.
Don't worry, the movie should be afraid of me
Quoted from Pinkitten:Love me some Herb Alpert. Dude can play the horn. Casino Royale! He was first (only?) musician to hit #1 with vocals (This Guy’s In Love With You) and instrumental (Rise). He co-founded A & M records and sold it for like $450 million. His net worth is around $850 million. More than Paul McCartney! Re-skin TWD!
Herb Alpert is a God among men
Quoted from littlecammi:Zach is a great gut, and he had no problem when I slipped him a tenspot to put me ahead of you on his BTTF LE wait list.
Loose lips sink ships, just grabbed your spot for 12 bucks and two warm cans of PBR.

I like my name, but damn, I wish it was Dick Dragon
Quoted from JohnTTwo:I really don't understand the Stern slow down. If Stern (Gary) really wanted to blow the market up just drop all the units they can't produce. Imagine what would happen to the used market. Pinflation would skyrocket, and if old releases skyrocket in prices what could Stern then do with the price of new releases?
Cancelling or stopping orders would blow up Gary's business, not the market. Dropping orders to try and manipulate the market to indirectly influence future sales is insane. Where's Levi when we need him?
Quoted from J85M:Would be pretty disappointed if true as I was looking forward to another Eddy game and Venom as a theme.
Yeah, I was actually gonna try and get on a list for it the day they delayed it. I hope it is still coming too.
Quoted from PinStalker:I'd love it, but it'll never happen......

Quoted from djsoup:I'll take a Huey Lewis and the News pin..
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:Hairy Plopper is some certified incel geek s#it. The fans are like furry adjacent cringe wizards. Just my personal opinion that everyone asked for.
My hot girlfriend likes Harry Potter. So there's that
Quoted from Rizmo:I do find it weird that this happened when Elf was a home brew. Had huge fan reception. Stern asked to take a few pictures of the game. Elf pin was suppose to go to a location for a tournament. Just before the tournament the pin was pulled. Stern then scrubs all social media with anything showing the Elf pin. mmmmmm
Could be that Stern deals with whomever owns the license to the movie. It might piss off their business partners if they are essentially advertising an unlicensed game.
Nah, the first case of AIDS in the US was in 1955. It didn't blow up until the 80s because Marty McFly brought it back after having a three-way with his mom and his dad in 1955. The scene only made it to the cutting room floor.
Quoted from Ballderdash:Gun to the head must buy one, Stern venom (premium) or JJP TS4?
Just pull the trigger
Quoted from mnpinball:Stranger Things by Christmas
[quoted image]
I'm pretty pumped. Gonna grab one for my home collection and put my old one back out on location. It is definitely my favorite modern Stern.
Quoted from Methos:That is the title to do it with if you want to maximize profits.
I don’t know, pros would certainly do volume. I’d love to put a pro on location. I don’t like the movie, but a shark theme is cool. I don’t really care if there is any movie content, gimmie a pro shark theme that says “Jaws” on it. That’s all I need. Something like what they did with Jurassic Park. Jaws assets, outside the music, aren’t worth it.
Quoted from SimplePin:This is absolutely true. While there are lots of Premiums and LE's out in the wild. (some places pride themselves on having all Prems) Pros are a no brainer for an operator on location. 1. Cheaper. 2. Most casual players that don't know or care about the difference (casual players far outnumber Pinheads at our two locations). As a Pinhead I buy Premiums for my collection. As an operator I buy Pros for location.
3. Less shit to break

Stranger Things:
After being lost in The Upside Down… Stranger Things Pinball has returned. Join Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will and Eleven as they try to uncover the events occurring in Hawkins, and maybe take down a few Demodogs along the way. Don’t miss out on the return of Stranger Things Pinball and El-evate your game room this holiday season!
[quoted image]
Awesome, looks like pro and premium!
Quoted from PinStalker:Look at all those ads for used premiums at 11K-$14.5K in the marketplace right next to the NIB ads at $9699
Reap it crooks. Try again at $8K where your used machines belong.
They aren't crooks, people were paying that. Nobody's going to walk away from money if they know it's there.
Quoted from KING-HENRY:SO...are the rumors still floating around that JAWS will not contain A/V assets from the first film? And if these rumors still hold, would you be willing to say this will be more of just a 'Shark Pin'? I cannot image a JAWS Pin without the first film.
Five guys will b**** up a storm and make it seem the game sucks without the characters, but in reality nobody cares about them, all most people really want is a f****** shark that eats people. The shark is the real star, the shark is what's going to sell pins.
Quoted from KING-HENRY:...but what stopped Williams/Bally
B/W can be used on both sides of that argument. Attack from Mars was a rip off of Mars Attacks, TOTAN was a rip off of Aladdin, MM -> Monty Python, all are basically the target IP without the assets.
The market stern is after is larger than people who have a fond memory of Jaws. Including the movie assets in the game, outside of branding, will actually make the pin less relevant right now. It’s about the shark, not the story.
Quoted from vikingerik:It was not. The pinball came out a year before the movie. It was just coincidence that two industries did the same homage/spoof of the same thing around the same time.
The IP “Mars Attacks” was around way before the movie.
Quoted from Pinbarclay:What’s almost as important as movie assets is the art package. Please don’t let ZY go crazy on this thing with some original cartoonish art. Jaws merchandise is HUGE still to this day (probably bigger than ever actually) and it’s all about that one image and color scheme.
I agree with this part 100%, art and music is what is important for this game
Quoted from ultimategameroom:That would be cool. Jaws can be an awesome pin even without film assets. I would rather the machine have 3-4 killer interactive mechs and no film assets much more than one with film assets and only 1 or 2 of the 4 mechs. I just want to flip the silver ball in an ocean/beach world under glass.
I just want a big bloody rubber shark head with an open mouth you shoot the balls into in order to kill it
Quoted from MrBigg:Jaws will be either a guardians remake with a shark head instead of groot
I wish! It would kill on location!
Quoted from brickbuilder14:Yes. The next machine is 100% Elwin Jaws. It's been seen by enough people that we have some details. It has 4 flippers, including three on one side. And has yellow barrels that sink under the playfield. The only unknown at this point is if it will be a typical Pro, Premium, LE release. Or a Batman 66/Elvira Premium, LE, SLE style release.
Ugh I wish Borg was on it, for sure he'd have a shark head bash toy or mouth ball lock.
Quoted from PinMonk:Yeah, but there would be an 80% chance of a prior layout or mirrored prior layout.
That's fair lol. I like his layouts though, so I'd be ok with that.
Quoted from crujones4life:[quoted image]
Thank god for a shark bash toy, I was afraid they wouldn’t have that
Quoted from Molon_Labe:N00b question - is the source of that Jaws data reliable?
People hate on him, but generally he is pretty accurate, especially when it gets very close to a release.
Quoted from VoodooPin:Metal cabinet sounds like the worst idea to come along in a long time.
It’s terrible, I would never choose that over wood. I can see why it would be an appealing idea to a business though. You could have all the panels shipped in and stored flat, you could assemble them very quickly in-house. Assuming they are buying assembled cabinets (which I believe they are), raw cabinet shipping and storage costs during production would drop like a rock. Of course that would have to weighed against customer satisfaction and material cost.
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:Okay... on this week's Stern Video Drop... behind the scenes: the move, they have some images of a worker building a wiring harnerss for "Chewy Pro". Is this a potential wiring harness for "Jaws"? Is "Chewy" the code name for Jaws as Jaws was the code name for Jurassic Park?
[quoted image]
There’s pretty much no way it could be something else at this point. The good news is it is already in the beginning stages of production. Pretty cool!
Quoted from Pinball-Cruiser:Stern is not like other pinball companies, they announce and shortly after they ship, because they've been getting games ready beforehand.
Yes
Quoted from northvibe:Ah because it is the code name for venom
Taken from the code name thread:
Venom - Chewy
Aw shit, chewy made so much sense for Jaws, bummer
Quoted from Rolls-Royce:Thanks for sharing…. By any chance do you have a few more
Yeah! Please!
Quoted from Sorokyl:If you are a pinball designer, do you really want to do another pin based on the same theme as arguably your best game ever? No thanks.
If you're running a pinball company and you decide to make a new pin based on a theme you've already done, do you put that same designer on it? No thanks.
If your a collector and a huge Metallica fan, and you are willing to acquire a second Metallica pin, do you want it to be by the same designer? No thanks.
Very little reason to ask or allow Borg to do another Metallica, unless he's the only Metallica fan at stern..
This was done with Elvira and Black Knight trilogies, a couple High Speed pins, and likely some more I am forgetting. Lots of collectors own multiple iterations by the same designer.

Quoted from Ballderdash:Reality check: We’re talking about the marketability of pinball in a country that buys soiled underwear out of gumball machines.
Reality check: most pinball collectors look like guys that would buy that
Quoted from PinMonk:Yeah, saying 1% are the pinball buyers is clickbait. I'm guessing most pin owners are between top 10-15%, especially ones with NIB collections. And plenty of people outside the 10-15% earners sneak in buying beaters, fixing, selling, and moving up that way on a much more challenging budget. Sweat equity accumulation.
Data is a little old and certainly incomplete, but here's an income poll from 2019
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/what-income-level-affords-you-the-ability-to-collect-pins
Quoted from pinmister:Deleted post
Average is not the same as median, or even most, and is skewed heavily by the top brackets. Median is around $192k.
