Stern does care about the secondary market, that is why they are able to vault games. I do not understand why no Tron or Lord of the rings.
How long ago was Zepplin announced? Godzilla vs Kong starts internationally on the 26th and here on 31st. It is a chance for Stern to get additional exposure, will they take it? The release pattern seems to be rumor of a sales meeting, meeting with dealers, and then announcement. Not too much time left if they want to do this.
Why would it not be Godzilla? The new Godzilla is coming out now within a week! They have had the license for a long time. They have had more than enough time to work on it, the release of the film was pushed back which gave even more time, it is a great theme that was done poorly once and deserves another shot, it could have great music, it is current and nostalgic, there are tons of video assets, the demographic is right in the sweet spot, it is recognizable world wide, and if they don't release it soon they look like dicks for stealing the theme from Charlie at Spooky.
Quoted from TheCnyPinGuy:What are the possible titles ?
What does stern currently hold regards to license holdings
I have 1 slot I plan to rotate out to keep the lineup fresh
I heard
Back to the future - very cool
Music Theme - no name
80s theme - no name
Heard BRE is up next - loved Stranger Things
Followed by Elwin then Borg
No mention of Ritchie ..
I did reach out and requested a slot on an le if BTTF is true though
Only title i know they have is Toho Godzilla because they got to it before Spooky. That is the only one I have heard Stern people talk about in public.
Is Godilla LE and Back to the Future LE sold out? Are there any games I should buy before Stern announces?
Quoted from V8haha:I’ll probably get some heat for this but stern can we please get a game with a simple easy to understand rule set?
BSD is one of my all time favorite games and it’s because of how basic and rewarding the rule set is.
Easy to start multi ball and for the advanced the challenge of staking all 3.
As an operator I’m afraid that the casual player has no idea what’s going on and if their doing well or not. Leaving the experience unrewarding.
Munsters was pretty simple and I don't think it did well.
Quoted from Rob_G:If Godzilla is the next pin, would you think Godzilla is 'good' or 'bad'?
Rob
Quoted from Boblabla:Please, someone answer truthfully the last time they watched a 60’s 70’s 80’s Godzilla movie, purposely. We keep waiting on BTTF , which everyone wants.
Why not just release BTTF already!
I watched Godzilla vs Gigan last week.
Quoted from TechnicalSteam:"Has Movie Clips" From what Movie? Era?
With LCDs now seems like Movie clips are going be there. Or can be added later ..
I hope Showa era.
Quoted from trilamb:They already announced the game is Toho era.
The eras are named for the Emporor at the time. The old ones are Showa, followed by Heisei, and Reiwa. Toho is the name of the company that makes Godzilla.
Quoted from gambit3113:The Toho films are broken into 4 eras. Showa was first.
Showa, Heisei, Reiwa. What is the one I am missing?
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:I’d almost guarantee this pin will encompass the entire Showa era, my preference is leaning towards mid to late showa (65-75’) Those are my favorite.[quoted image]
Me too
Quoted from Concretehardt:What is the secret to buying a newly released stern topper anyway? Do they just randomly come up for sale on Sterns website and instantly sell out?
Where can I buy the topper for Godzilla?
Quoted from Quicksilver1:I know a lot of folks are chomping at the bit for a reveal of Rush, myself included. Does anyone think that Stern is gonna do a reveal the week between Christmas and New Years? Is Stern even working this week?
I was almost certain they would, but they almost always announce on Tuesday after a distributor meeting. So unless they have a teaser, probably not.
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:Hairy Plopper is some certified incel geek s#it. The fans are like furry adjacent cringe wizards. Just my personal opinion that everyone asked for.
I think it Harry also has a large female and family fan base. Would probably sell a lot of games.
So would Journey.
Quoted from SLCpunk2113:I'm 34. I have plenty of money to buy games. The boomer share of the market gets smaller every year. Stop pushing the narrative that "old people" are the only ones that have $$$ to spend.
Most people in their 50s are not boomers. They are now Xers. The baby boom stopped after 1964. We have money and we are tired of being lumped in boomers.
Quoted from JakeFAttie:But I think that's exactly the attitude that keeps the demographics of pinball small and sheltered. There are plenty of millionaires who love Drake (gag) and would never consider pinball because all they see is Rush and Led Zepplin. If you want to expand the purchasing base you need to give them something new that actually interests them. Who knows how a Drake (gag) pinball machine might perform because the current companies haven't tried anything that ballsy and mainstream yet. Everything is either Dad rock, Pinball History, or SciFi/Fantasy/Comics. The only real contemporary, non-nostaligia themes I see in the top 50 are The Big Lewboski, Stranger Things, Rick and Morty, The Walking Dead, Dialed In and Toy Story; none of the music themed. Sooner or later one of these companies is going to have to go out on a limb and produce a hip-hop pin for the under 60 crowd.
Journey would do great with men and women in the 40 to bracket.
