Quoted from MikeS:

It's Zombie Yeti on art. Design by George Gomez and code by Tanio Klyce. Was confirmed on Head2Head podcast last week.

Did he actually say it was Deadpool? I thought it was just "The game John T was working on that got scrapped and restarted by Gomez" without mention of the name.

#2276 5 years ago
Quoted from MikeS:

They didn't say the name Deadpool directly. But based on the leaked Deadpool picks and knowing that ZY was working on Deadpool it's easy to put 2 and 2 together. The leaked Deadpool pics looked like a Gomez game just based on the playfield elements (sword ramp and upper playfield).- LOTR inspired.

Did we "know" ZY was working on deadpool? or is that just assumed based on the look of the leaked pictures? I only ever saw the one cropped image with DP's face

I so very badly want that disco ball on the left ramp to be an actual working disco ball with some LEDs pointed at it and rotation.

#2302 5 years ago

The fact that it has art on it would make it seem likely that it's the original whitewood -- since ZY said he WAS working on [deadpool] and then got pulled off to work on IM, and is now getting back to it again with Gomez.

Quoted from romulusx:

What the hell does rapey mean?

It's how people describe the stuff that used to be acceptable in entertainment but due to changes in social acceptance are now terrible.

Like how in the end of Sixteen Candles the nerd trades a passed out drunk girl for some underwear and has sex with her and she doesn't remember.

Or in revenge of the nerds when they plant cameras in a sorority house to observe them naked, or wear a costume and pose as someone else to have sex with the hot chick without her consent -- it's fine, she liked it.

Or in Grease's case ... "tell me more, tell me more did she put up a fight"

Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

... and it applies to shots that are repeatable. When hit enough a high score will result or match win. I hate all casual references to or uses of the term.

The comment was in relation to the movie Grease, not pinball shots.

Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

the goal is 4 cornerstone games per year

Gary always says 3 cornerstone games a year. Not 4.

Quoted from luvthatapex2:

Unfortunately with so many movies and so many different male leads playing BOND it would be cost prohibitive to make an all encompassing BOND pinball. Licensing wise they;d have to stick to a single movie/actor/soundtrack which is a bummer.

They did it with Dr. Who.

Quoted from Snailpin:

Interesting that Keith Elwin is already done with his third game and will be working on his fourth game next.

I know - I totally expected him to go on to game six after game three. Four is VERY interesting indeed.

There was some hubbub in the news recently about the 3rd Tron film being more likely/moving forward but not fully greenlit yet.

Like so: https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2552190/5-reasons-this-tron-3-news-has-us-excited

Quoted from guss:

Anybody ever buy a pro and premium and switch out the cabinets ?

That happened in the metallica days before the pro-mium version got made. I think.

Quoted from mrclean:

I can see someone in the mod community create a 3D Godzilla foot in this area... obviously would need to be scaled for the bridge to open / close etc.

Because you'd want a completely out of scale random appendage in front of the building/bridge/whole godzilla?

Quoted from finnflash:

I'm with you. I dont buy NIB much, 2 total, I dont mind waiting a year sometimes to get a game used.

The problem with this plan is, nobody seems to know what "used" means anymore. Everybody wants damn near (or even OVER) original pricing for old games.

Edit: Damn, BasementFacts beat me by 2 second.s

Even worse here...$18.50/hr for In-N-OUT and $22/hr to stock shelves at Target.

"Even worse"? Wtf. Darn these people getting paid more for a job I wouldn't do for that much, even at these new higher rates!

Quoted from Taygeta:

No and I hope Stern never goes that route again. Stern JP has a good layout and code but the theme integration is awful and the lack of license shows.

Yeah, damn them for making a good game instead of a super expensive pile of ‘member berries.
