I think Chicago Gaming is already working on Cactus Canyon not any of the other titles mentioned. From what I understand they're already pretty far along and that and the only thing holding up Monster Bash is trouble with approval. But who knows the difference between what Chicago Gaming has done and say Stern is they don't release updates really... they come out with the game ready to go and thats it. There might be an update but not like Stern one every few weeks. Their game should be ready to fly day one. But I do think Cactus Canyon is right behind Monster Bash.

American Pinball I believe is already working on a 3rd title as well considering that Octoberfest will debut at Chicago Expo. I heard that JJ is working on Toy Story right now not Willy Wonka. But who really knows until something is released.

Jaws would be one of the coolest titles if JJ does it... I wouldn't be crazy about a Stern version, might end up as bad as Star Wars. Weak pinball game with clips from the movie would hate to see that to a real classic like Jaws. I'm in for a Munsters I know that... love the Munsters.

I'd like to see more horror / haunted games... I would suggest Halloween vs Freddy vs Jason that would be KILLER pardon the pun. Universal Studios Monsters would be awesome. Or how about a game based on Disney's Haunted Mansion or a new Adams Family based on the TV Show rather than the movie.

We can only dream! LOL

Quoted from Sinestro:

And as for Star Wars, Universal isn't Disney.

I'm not sure what you mean by that line... but let say this Disney didn't do Star Wars Fox did, and Jaws when you re-adjust box office for inflation is the 7th Biggest movie of ALL-TIME! Doesn't matter if its Disney or Universal Jaws is a classic! Jaws is the movie that started the concept of summer movies.

Jaws might be one of the best acted movies ever, and I'd really hate to see Stern do that title. The movie is a serious film unlike Deadpool, or Batman 66... I'd love to see a Jaws game but would rather see a widebody game with lots of features tied to the film. There is no better music I can think of that Jaws for a pinball!!! LOL

I would like a Jaws pinball.

Breaking News:

Okay I have a somewhat inside source here is what I'm hearing.

Stern has been releasing three games a year, and they're already at two this year with Black Knight and Munsters. That means there is only one more game coming from them. You will see that game in October and it will be Elvira 3. So the breaking news if what I'm being told is true is there will be no JW or Stranger Things. This makes sense because there is no reason what so ever to push out J World because the move came out a year ago now, and the next one isn't out until 2021. Common sense would tell you, would be nice to hitch a ride on that train.

I think you're going to see Elvira in October at Chicago, then in the winter you'll see Stranger Things.

Here is what I learned, in the old days, a pinball company only had one line, they made one game, today Stern makes multiple games. Currently they have everything from Beatles, Deadpool, Black Knight, Munsters, Guardians, Batman, Star Trek, Star Wars all these games on the line. They have orders from all these games and their lines are tied up until late summer, September. They're a business about making money not new pinball games every few weeks.

Lastly, a lot of these places that have bought games, honestly they're running out of room to take on more games, there is already a lot to choose from. If Stern started making 4 or 5 new games a year they're doing nothing but cannibalizing themselves, they know the market.

So here is the bottom line Stern is probably not going to be releasing a new title until October when you'll see Elvira. Use some common sense here... are they really going to release a game here in August then turn around 2 months later and release Elvira.

I doubt it.

So we can pretty much stop going nuts and just look towards October for Elvira 3. If I'm wrong I'm wrong but that is what I've learned. I would probably bet my life on it that if you don't see Elvira then it will be Stranger Things both make sense for an October release.

I will say however I'm scratching my head somewhat... who planned these titles to release in this order? Munsters old 60's horror/comedy tv show, Black Knight an old 90's game with a gothic theme, and then Elvira another 80's comedy horror title. Where is the straight up comedy mixed it or adventure movie or something? Odd it would go down like this.

Maybe somewhere between they announce a vault like putting another game into production like Tron, but that won't be anything new. I think the next new game will be in October Elvira 3.

Quoted from Goronic:

But why the big announcement type news at comic-con for a big coming soon pitch?!

Star Wars is probably the biggest title for comic book fans, and the game is directed at home users. Makes sense now!

Quoted from Psw757:

Could it be some special run? A vault?

I did add that to my comments, that you might see another game added to their list of production like Tron vault. The prices of Tron have gone thru the roof so yeah I think you might see a Tron thrown into the production. I don't think Black Knight is selling very well, so they could easily let Tron share some line time with Black Knight.

I would probably bet you will see a vault announcement between now and October. But a new game not until October.

If that is indeed the new Stern Heavy Metal playfield artwork let me just say this... someone give me some heavy metal to smash it with! LOL

Looks horrible. Stern needs to get Franchi back and fast!

Hard pass! TMNT is way to campy, and although Wonka and WOZ are whimsical like TMNT, it just doesn't have the following.

Nothing I'm seeing in this playfield looks all that appealing or special. But I'm sure the video will make it look better than the photos. Either way pass!

Personally I'll wait around for Godzilla, that would be a dream theme for me!

Bring on the KING OF PINBALL errr Godzilla.

I'm sure the next game isn't far behind so you won't have to wait long.

Quoted from Shapeshifter:

Still think Godzilla is a code name for the monster hit that Keith on Back to the Future would be.

Anyway only time will tell.

It would be odd just JP then Godzilla back to back considering the themes are very much the same. Oh well look Godzilla vs King Kong comes out THIS YEAR so it has to be Godzilla! If it doesn't feature movie clips, and they do something like JP or Deadpool I'll be pissed and pass! Looks like that's exactly what they've done with TMNT. No thanks!

Themes I'd like to see out of Stern: Fast and the Furious - Caddyshack, Animal House, Three Stooges, Vacation, Airplane, Blues Brothers, c'mon where are the comedy games?

I think the KING of ROCK pin yet to be done is Nirvana. That is a no brainer right there!

Quoted from DS_Nadine:

You wouldn‘t call two movies the same just because there‘re humans in there, would you?

Yeah they're both the same movies... giant lizards running around destroying everything that comes into their path. Yeah about the same.

The only difference is Godzilla is way freaking cooler!

This new TMNT artwork looks like its for ages 5 to 12. Why didn't they do a game based on the films, where is a big Turtle toy, whats up with that super silly looking van... my prediction one of if not the weakest selling Stern ever.

Guns N Roses is going to STOMP TMNT into the dirt.

I will get excited for Godzilla if that is true, not sure about LZ.

Why hasn't stern done Nirvana like HUH... you did great with Metallica you'd do even better with Nirvana.

Quoted from yancy:

I take it you've never seen the show. Not every theme is for everyone. I'm guessing you're a bit north of the age demo for this one.

Yeah I've seen the show, some of the movies and even heard Vanilla Ice do the Ninja Turtle Rap LIVE... hope that never happens again. The show isn't good, I'd rather watch He-Man c'mon. Ninja Turtles or Batman? Ninja Turtles are yesterday's news. Yeah yeah they have some fans but it wasn't worth doing a new pinball... do Fast and Furious, He-Man even, Three Stooges, Airplane, Animal House, but why Ninja Turtles. I don't get it ... I can't even imagine any 40 year old watching re-runs of Ninja Turtles cartoons. The movies aren't classics, you don't see the toys overrunning Walmart shelves since the 90's, why this theme. Maybe they want a kid friendly game who knows.

The theme doesn't warrant a new pinball machine the last movie totally BOMBED. That is all I'm saying.

Does anyone know how we've now had two Turtle pinballs, and still Three Stooges has never been done, Caddyshack, Animal House, Blues Brothers, Airplane, or even Fast N Furious or Matrix.

Hey just my opinion.

So many to pick from rather than doing Avengers for the 50th time.

We need more comedy pins, like Caddyshack, Animal House, Ferris Day Off, or seriously mistake to pass on Beatlejuice

Skip comedy how about other music pins that haven’t been made: Prince - MJ - Nirvana - Beastie Boys - Queen = Motley Crew

Action movies why hasn’t Fast and Furious been made seems like a natural. Why not more DC pinballs lets do Aquaman or Wonder Woman. Where is Matrix or Mad Max. Lots to choose from.

How about a classic lets do Universal Studios Monsters or Three Stooges.

So much to choose from.

Obviously the theme is going to be Mandalorian its so obvious.

Who would want a Mandalorian theme considering I doubt any movie franchise as been covered more by pinball than Star Wars. If the game isn't based on a movie or music and it something MILLIONS of people love it has to be Star Wars based. But what if Stern threw a curveball and licensed Seinfeld or Friends?

How long has it been since Stern has done anything in the comedy realm?

Can't wait to see the reveal.

#16706 3 years ago

Let me just say this I HOPE its NOT Mando for several reasons... Stern just made Avengers for the second time, on top of Deadpool, Spider-Man and all the other Marvel themed games. Enough already do something else.

Now getting to Star Wars, please NOT AGAIN how many are there already like 5 or 6?

Again do something different.

There are so many options out there which would be so much better than retreading the Star Wars universe AGAIN!

Why can't Stern do: Caddyshack - Animal House - Blues Brothers - Airplane (a comedy). Where is Fast and Furious seems perfect for pinball. How about an 80's movie like Ferris, Fast Times, to Home Alone.

There is a lot bands never covered like Nirvana, Queen, Mötley Crüe, to action movies like Diehard, Planet of the Apes, to Mission Impossible.

Why do Star Wars again?
