Quoted from Coindork:

I hope its a re-theme of Pabst Blue Ribbon into Colt 45 with Billy Dee Williams on the translite.
This is a way better use of Lando Calrissian than a Star Wars home version.[quoted image]

Only in a perfect world would we be this much blessed.

Quoted from Zablon:

It's Bonanza. You're welcome. It's to counter CGC's CCr. Set to reveal March 24th.

I hope you're wrong and its the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Complete with Ennio Morricone score and cinematic/voice samples from the film, plus new Clint callouts.

#7162 4 years ago
Quoted from Roostking:

Yes, 80+ year old Clint Eastwood is going to do call outs for pinball lol. Seems legit!

Sure, and let's bring back Bronson and do a Death Wish theme while were at it. I'll take it over Toy Story and whatever childrens themes some have suggested.

Quoted from TheLaw:

Interesting info thanks. I may be the only "Lost River" fan around so Johnny Jewel is fine in my book.
Of course "Solaris" OST is as good as they come.

The latest Chromatics album is fantastic and the Italians label is overall superb.

Quoted from mpdpvdpin:

Interest in a pin based off the worst plagarist rock band in the history of modern music: -1000

Black Sabbath were the better and more original rock band of the 70s for sure. Zeppelin was still great, but like your video shows, it was mostly borrowed, stolen...whatever you wanna call it. Sabbath however, was on a whole other level.

So when will we see Led Zep?

When will we see Led Zep acknowledge all the songs they ripped off? Probably never.

Quoted from noob-a-tron:

Please leave it up to Iomi would you really leave Ozzy in charge of anything these days

Sharon is pretty much in charge of everything that has to do with Sabbath ever since Tony sold off the rights back in the 90s for financial recovery.

Sabbath is now regarded and marketed as just a stepping stone in Ozzy's career and nothing more. The band's official history makes it a point to disregard any of the line ups after 1979 and before 1997. Its fucked up because there are some killer albums from that time period that real fans will acknowledge but will get overlooked and forgotten 'officially' because it's not Ozzy.

I'm not entirely thrilled with how they insulted Bill Ward with that contract for the final tours. I know there are two sides but after reading Bill's public statements, you know he wasnt getting a fair share. For Sharon its about money, For Bill it's always been about the music, and it was clear to me he wasnt gonna settle for their bullshit.

Sorry for the rant, but if anyone considers another music pin in the near future and Ozzy is considered, I really hope they do so as a solo career theme, but leave Black Sabbath alone. I just dont think it will be justified.

I think I'd rather see a Judas Priest pin anyways. It's the best untouched music theme out there IMO.

So i've been coming into this thread and seeing a lot of Jaws talk. Of course, great, great film. I've been trying to think about how that theme would work...

So would it be similar to Jurassic Park, where you're navigating around an island, but instead, you're navigating across the ocean? Lots and lots of ocean. Looking for a shark. One shark. Or maybe different sea creatures, but then, it isn't really Jaws anymore.

But then I thought, well, I guess the story can take place in the town by the ocean. Maybe there's a mode where you fight the mayor over closing the beach? Or maybe a mode where you argue with your wife and if you hit enough shots and you win the mode, it says "OUT TO SEA!"

Maybe there's a mode where you hit shots and you can help Quint finish "Spanish Ladies" by helping him pound down those Narragansett beers.

...or maybe you play as the Shark and just eat people and other things for points.

#9127 3 years ago
Quoted from Coindork:

Yeah, it’s a great film, but as far as script and plot there is not a lot to the storyline.
Other possibilities of modes. Mad mother Multi ball or repair the engine for double scoring. You could even have paddle back to shore wizard mode like the end of the movie.
The storyline is not very compelling for Pinball modes. I think people just want to see a shark eat balls.

I just thought of something, maybe you can progress thru the different films. Like unlocking a Jaws 3D mode for example where you're in Sea World and you have Louis Gossett Jr. doing callouts, shouting "JACKPOT!!!" when the shark eats the guy who plays his nephew in the film.

#9137 3 years ago

I think a lot of these guys want a Jaws pin so they can put this in it.

Damn that would have been so much better! If only...

#9864 3 years ago

Sharon would never allow it.

I'd love to see a "Digital Bitch" multiball with Gillan on vocals and that definitely ain't happening.

I think a Judas Priest pinball would be the best choice over anything else music related.

Being a massive Black Sabbath fan...I'd rather see a Judas Priest pinball machine.

As much as I love Ozzy (despite his treatment of certain former bandmates.) I refuse to put any money into Sharon's pocket, knowing how her bullshit works.

I'd rather they just do an strictly Ozzy theme. Leave Sabbath out. They'll never get it right.

If its BTTF and theres a likeness issue, then maybe Gary and the Faris kid can reprise their roles as Doc and Marty for the artwork! No issue there, right?

Pinside sets itself on fire every time they aren’t the target market for a release. It’s getting exhausting. I’m an operator with a decent collection. This coming out doesn’t offend me because it’s clearly not targeted at me. Same story with Heavy Metal, Primus, and Supreme. Are we just going to keep having the same conversation every six months?

Pinside: We need to promote the hobby!

Stern: Here's a lower cost model for the general public!

Quoted from Hayfarmer:

Just wouldn't be pinside without all the haters. Us old guys get a pin once in awhile too , I have no interest in tmnt or avengers. But I don't trash them.

It will certainly be a nice break from the superhero stuff, I agree.

How many songs make it from 'Houses of the Holy'?

#11962 3 years ago

Not sure what qualifies as a pin for old guys, but I would love to see something with Charles Bronson* or Lee Van Cleef.

*The actor, kids. Not the 'famous' prisoner with an identity crisis.

#12011 3 years ago
Quoted from Scandell:

Fact.
In 15 years...there are going to be a ton of old man pinball themed machines on the market. Widows fretting over how to get rid of it. Nobody wanting them. Avengers and TMNT....have 50+ of years Of fan base left.

Dont underestimate the presence of oddballs like me who enjoy working on and playing the pins that came out before I was even born.

#12015 3 years ago
Quoted from Pinballer67:

Who gives a fuck?
P.S. You're going to get old one day...if you're lucky. Plenty of us "geezers" in our 50's are doing just fine, thanks. I still run 8 km in the summer and my 40-year old neighbors are shocked at the speed with which I run.
I'd take the spirit of carousing + "Sex" (being attractive, attending to your outward appearance) + "Rock 'n Roll" (nothin' left to lose/fuck the plastic, corporate millionaire shithead) over digital - corporate - conformity... any day of the year. The years when we rebelled and knew what was real...before we all became slaves to our fucking phones.
Many "younger" folks are of the same attitude: they get it. But those of us who were *there* and involved in everything the world had to offer at that time know that something has been lost.
You're only ever as old as you feel.
Remind the widow of that when she sells a Led Zeppelin pinball and she'll say. "Yeah, he loved this machine. It made him happy!"

I'm 36, but I totally get what you're saying!

I never felt like a part of my generation. Too obsessed with commercialism and "following" each other on social media. Being told what to like, how to live and what to believe. Cant live like that!

Put away the phone any chance I get... unless I need guitar tabs.

I was born in 84 and consider Twilight Zone to be one of the all time great TV shows still to this day.

As far as 'Next Stern Pin' goes, I'd love to see some good nunsploitation theme like Malabimba, more the more traditional classic, Killer Nun!

How about a good revenge thriller like Ms. 45 or They Call Her One Eye, or I Spit on Your Grave or Lady Snowblood? Or an all time classic like Death Wish?

Bronson deserves a pinball machine, I dont care how old or young your money is.

Really though? Look what they did to LED ZEP. Thing looks like garbage. Really corny take on the band.

I dont root for any manufacturer, I'm just posting my belief and praise of the Deity. He who bestows upon us the mighty riff.

Basically, I dont think ANY manufacturer will realize what makes Sabbath awesome.

And believe me, I have a room ready and waiting for one, I just dont have faith that it will be done right.

Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

Black Sabbath is who you want.
[quoted image]

Ozzy's solo career can certainly stand on its own as a pinball theme, but it's an entirely separate entity from Sabbath. Sure have a few Sabbath tracks in it, but...

...if they do a Black Sabbath pin, I would hope Ozzy only makes up, at most, 1/4 of the band imagery. Would like to see other line-ups/albums acknowledged, but thats probably a long shot.

#13109 3 years ago
Quoted from Tranquilize:

How about an everything 80s pin. We stuff all the movies, all the rock bands, and all the shows into one pin. No pinsound needed. BTTF included!
Then maybe, just maybe, the pinball community can shave off all the mullets and at least live in the 90s for a while. The hopes and dreams of making it to the turn of the century may also come to fruition some day. I completely understand that the adjustment takes time though. 20 years just isn't enough. Patience is key.

As a 90s kid, born in the early 80s, I just gotta say...

...can I go back to the 70s?

I think there is a chance of a Mortal Kombat pin. The franchise is getting a new movie this year with plans for several in the future follow the fit steps of the MCU.
