What are the odds of Stranger Things?
My wifes favorite show, she has greenlighted a NIB purchase if that theme ever gets picked up and made.

Quoted from Shapeshifter:What is the next Stern music pin?
Quoted from Aurich:lAnd why people pull “facts” out of their asses.
Definitely no shortage of “Ass Facts” around here.
Where did this Quicksilver/Led Zep mashup rumour originate? Ive only heard about it in this thread. Sounds interesting to me as long as its not Beatles pricing.
Always a laundry list of 1980s movies suggested for pin themes. One that I havent seen mentioned is E.T., seems like that would be fairly well suited to base a pin on what with the bicycle chase, phoning home, maybe collecting Reeses Pieces and so on.
Some kind of mech to make a playfield mounted E.T.s neck elongate would be kinda cool.
Quoted from kvan99:It's either that or "Stranger Things", I think they picked up S-Things license just to piss me off, I had mentioned anyone would do that license justice except them....but if Brian Eddy's is on it so the joke is on them.
PS: Judging by Dirty Donny's S-Things poster that he posted, I have to say he got the art wrong though.
Right! The teaser of the poster looked so cool, then when the whole poster was revealed it was really blah.
Lots of people sure do say “ I would buy (Theme XXX) sight unseen!” and “Take my money!” and “This title would be an insta- buy for me!” Because of this mindset, no matter what the next Stern is its:
A: probably going to have a price increase
B: certainly going to have incomplete code
C: likely going to suffer from quality control issues
None of these problems are ever going to go away with people consistently throwing large sums of money at a product they have never even actually seen or for that matter, a product that hasnt even been reviewed by any actual consumers. Whatever happened to demanding a proven quality product that has been adequately tested and performs properly out of the box?
If people were a bit more patient and didnt buy, say, all 400 LE models of a game before its even been released or reviewed maybe Stern would put a bit more effort into these games before putting them out.
Cross generational appeal with Stranger Things’ 1980s setting for sure.
Resonates with us old farts cause we were there and its popular with younger folks too, my kids are in their 20s and they like it. The 80s are hot right now! Would like to see this game become a reality.
I checked out my games after reading this and yeah, Iron Maiden feels a lot flimsier than even Ghostbusters from just a couple years earlier. Never really noticed but wow theres really a big difference in the weight and solid-ness (solidity?) between those two games. Maidens cabinet does feel pretty puny. I wonder if thats why I have so much trouble with scraping the inside of the Maiden cabinet every damn time I lift the playfield, perhaps the cabinet is sitting twisted slightly from being so lightweight.
Ill buy whatever comes out too for sure! Without seeing it or playing it! Take my money! Its a must-buy! Sight unseen!
Quoted from guitarded:Niagra Falls Multi-Ball!
Slowly I turn...
That was the Three Stooges!
Edit- I stand corrected...never knew Abbot and Costello did that routine also. Funny stuff!
You dont know shit is what I think @wakky...heres what you said about Deadpool earlier in this thread....
Quoted from Wakky:no way stupid non profitable pinball theme ..speculate all you want all this push and posting wont make it happen. Stern are way smarter than that
I dont care how many times you go visit the Stern factory (where Im sure they are just THRILLED to see you), you are always talking out of your ass. Youve been wrong so many times in this thread alone its not even funny. Also, Bon Jovi sucks.
Quoted from luvthatapex2:Well the display will be very different. DMD vs Full color LCD so there's that
I thought that both of these games have a red DMD?
Quoted from Roostking:jist if the posters post...
Certainly you must mean, “Gist of the poster’s post” (said in a know it all Comic Book Guy voice).
Quoted from freeplay3:an awesome theme like See and Say
this is the part where I caught on that it was a joke
Turtles could be cool if it was in the style of the original Eastman/Laird comics, gritty and a little dark, the turtles drank beer and cursed occasionally. Bad guys got violently killed. It was pretty hardcore for a non-underground comic, actually.
Speaking just for myself, anything fashioned after the brightly colored pizza eating kid show turtles would be pretty lame and also really juvenile.
Seeing that Heavy Metal table is probably the most disappointed Ive ever been about a new release. Could have been epic, one of my all time favorite animated movies, instead its a cheap looking overpriced money grab.
Between that and these outrageously overpriced also cheap looking toppers Stern is putting out, not to mention the multiple malfunctions with Stranger Things, Im becoming a bit disgusted. They are pricing me right out of the hobby as the products themselves become flimsier and less reliable.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:If they build a DIO pin, that's a world under glass, that'd be a DIOrama!!!
Ok, that was pretty damn clever.
Quoted from mrclean:I’d like to see a shark fin that randomly pops up throughout the playfield as a target somewhat like the dractrac on MB.
I think thats a really cool idea.
People can do whatever they want with their own money. Its really nobody else's business.
Negative comments about someones choice to purchase an expensive game, or any item for that matter, only come across as petty and jealous.
Quoted from Royale-W-Cheese:Alien versus Predator....Cmon Stern you have the money...a million movies have been made. LOL.
If it bleeds.....
Yeah! With a soundtrack by Austrian Death Machine!
When it does come out looks like at least one will be “Going to California” lol.
Couldnt resist either.
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:What the Fuck?
Where is my Led Zeppelin pin?
Quoted from RikeIsland:A Mortal Kombat pin would be sick. You could have Jonny Cage doing the splits nut punch for the ball save. Awesome call outs like, Test your might and Your soul is mine!
[quoted image]
In attract mode it would absolutely have to bellow out “GET OVER HERE!!”
Haha that “Killing for Religion” meme is clever and hilarious, Dave doesnt understand.
Totally down for a Megadeth pin!
Quoted from NoQuarters:All this talk of Comic editions. I don't think Welk will be a comic edition. But that's an interesting thought.
You never know...

Quoted from fnord:I'd prefer The Thing but a They Live with UV acting like glasses would be sweet
Hell yeah! Cool idea with the glasses/UV.
Needs to feature “Put ‘em on!” mode where you have make shots to beat up Frank and force him to wear the glasses. Then you would have to keep multiball going for the entire length of that fight scene, which is like, two days long.
Quoted from PinMonk:I'd take Sid and Marty Krofft World, Rocky Horror, a bunch of other various and sundry weird pin themes, and...*gasp* even TOHO Godzilla before I'd ever want a Revenge of the Nerds pin. I can't see much pin potential in the property.
I was really just kind of implying that things were getting a bit nerdy in here.....
Arrr it makes a guy yearn for the olden times when pinball machines were mostly found in smoky bars with simple themes about gambling, pool playing, boxing and the like. OK, so I did have an Xmen pro pinball for a while, but i was just experimenting! Oh yeah, and that one time with the Lord of the Rings....
Quoted from chad:Yes a cooking themed game! [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Whoooooeeee a Justin Wilson pin would be wondermous, I Garontee!
FE626CDE-8F16-4245-B3E4-FA6EEB0AF91A (resized).jpegI think its funny that you only get one flipper on that upper playfield on the pro and two on the premium.
Quoted from KYLEDM5:If true, I hope Stern severely punishes Cointaker.
Its interesting to consider all the psychology involved in selling. Fomo, artificial scarcity, social proof, herd mentality. There are courses for sales forces to learn all these techniques and more. Went to read up on the Osborne effect and ended up learning a lot about mental manipulation to drive sales. Pinball companies use a lot of these methods!
Quoted from Kkoss24:Has the Red Hot Chilli Peppers ever been rumored ? I would love to see this pin made and can’t wait to see them in August .I’ve been taking my 13/14 year olds to shows and usually get the cheaper seats but this night I’m going all out .They have to be close to 100 mil albums sold plus they’re big all around the world.Seems like a recipe for success .What say you !
Dear god no. Id rather have a pin based on the sound of the test of the emergency broadcasting system.
How bout a “They Live” pin using the UV from Stranger Things. Should be plenty of material in that movie for a pin. When you make the shots or what have you to “put on the glasses” the UV kicks on and you can read hidden messages and see the alien faces through whatever regular art is on the playfield and plastics.

Quoted from Pin_Fandango:And the fact that you are trying to call me out as racist for pointing out a racist time in history, is quite ridiculous.
Where in that post did I “call you out as a rascist”? What the hell are you talking about?
Quoted from jpd632:Theres nothing markyer than a non wrestler using wrestler lingo
Oh yeah?
FB6D152F-E0F0-424A-8DAE-209301F9B9DD (resized).jpegDidnt Stern send out a press release specifically stating that they weren't remaking Stranger Things? Said they couldnt get the license?
Quoted from Kkoss24:What we need is a Student Bodies pin !
[quoted image]
Now thats going full obscure. Used to watch that movie on The Movie Channel all the time. Hadnt thought about it in 40 years.
Quoted from ExSquid:So what’s the deal everyone here showing up to comic con with this on?[quoted image]
Nerds.
Quoted from TheLaw:I think we already made the brackets for worst 90s bands & Offspring isn't much of a high seed (lower than Green Day anyway).
Top seeds - Creed, 4 Non Blondes, Nickleback, Spin Doctors.
Some people weren't Happy with 311 being just a 2 seed...and I see their point.
Green Day, Offspring, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam. For me, the grand slam of the shittiest bands of the 1990s, if not all eras of music. I loathe them all forever. I know they all get airplay because they come on the radio all the effing time but that only makes them suck even more.
Yeah your right about the Chili Peppers, they were from the 80s…it was in the 90s that they became more popular. Wow, they have sucked through 5 different decades at this point.
Quoted from Pinplayer1967:Why would they attempt to ruin a masterpiece. If this rumor is true it’s dumb on Stern. Other titles like Ozzy, Van Halen would work better!
Im not quite clear on how coming out with a new different Metallica pinball machine would “ruin” the already existing older machine.
Quoted from Bmad21:(kitty redemption game).
Quoted from manadams:Why do they have to top it? It just has to be a good game
Exactly! All this talk of ruining the original and saying it wont be as good as the first game is ridiculous. You guys arent pinball Nostradomuses (Nostradomussesss?) seeing into the future before the game even comes out. It could be even better than the first game, and it damn sure isnt going to ruin the original or lessen it somehow. Do you like pinball? Then be happy that maybe it will be something new and different to play and enjoy.
You guys know about Here Come the Mummies? If not you have to check them out on youtube, you will not be disappointed. I would 100% buy a HCTM pin.
