Quoted from vicjw66:Maybe it’s been confirmed before but, Is Iron Maiden going to be a stand alone new design or will it share a theme like FG and Shrek?
Don’t see any reason why it would be shared. The only reason Shrek was made is because FG wasn’t selling and they had a ton of extra parts so they decided to make Shrek. Then FG started to sell. At least that’s the rumor.
Quoted from Roostking:I still prefer stock Iron Maiden art vs. an interpretation of Maiden art. Just another reason why I'm holding off until I see the entire package. Please take my money if it's a bad ass rock and roll pin Like ACDC or Met!! The license demands it!!
I don’t see any way ZY doesn’t kill this. He’s a big Maiden fan. He is a smart guy and knows what people want.
Quoted from PW79:Lol, they're both terrible.
MM is better tho. If its good enough for Trent Reznor...
I'd consider buying both games for sure tho & just feel MM is more modern & has done cooler ,and weirder, shit (music wise)
Anything you say from here on out is invalid. Go sit in the corner and think about what you’ve done.
Quoted from PW79:Ha, I can see why you'd say that.
But this is how ridiculous Iron Maiden is to me.
Some of you "metalheads" think you're way cooler than you are. In all honesty I suspect a lot of posers here think about their umbrella policy more than Iron Maiden.
Insurance does not translate to a pinball theme well tho.
Dude talk about geriatric themes...you own Aerosmith!
Quoted from PW79:I know!
I live a shameful life!
I'm buying a minivan soon too!
Maybe a few wolf shirts as well.
Amazon has a fantastic wolf shirt.
Quoted from ptrav1:Number of people who listen to music - big number
Number of those who listen to Iron Maiden - very small number
Number of those who also play pinball - count them in this thread - extremely small number
Is this a going out of business plan? Or is the intent to do all this work to sell a few hundred games?
You couldn’t be more wrong. Like, you actually couldn’t.
Quoted from ptrav1:Show me your math
Quoted from Wakky:Thats a great phpto of a Bonjovi concert you posted there
No it’s Maiden. You can tell because all the fans aren’t soccer moms.
Quoted from Sinestro:The only music pin that's going to sell out this year is Alice Cooper.
Well, you really can’t sell out of any Stern due to their go-to-market with pros & premiums. The IMDN LE’s will sell out. I’d be willing to wager on that.
Anyone that keeps saying it’s not a good fit/won’t sell I’m willing to make a bet all LE’s sell out. Let me know and we can hammer out details. I can’t believe how many people are sleeping on this.
Quoted from flashburn:I'd love to see them do a Monsters Of Metal/Masters of Rock pin. They could do both, reuse the same layout and rules, just replace the art to suit their respective genres.
I don't see how that could make economical sense from a licensing perspective.
Quoted from PinMonk:With second and third tier metal bands, the licensing would be very cheap. Definitely do-able.
But then we're no longer talking about the Monsters of Metal/Masters of Rock...
Quoted from flashburn:Smaller bands cost less to license. Pretty simple really. You could also limit the artwork to not include every single band in it.
Smaller bands cost less? Shocking. Taking a smaller bands approach to limit cost is counter-productive and defeats the purpose of a “Monsters of Rock” pin.
You’d need 10-12 songs to make it good. Go get 10-12 licenses of “smaller” bands and compare the cost vs. 1 big band. Then make sure all the licensees are willing to work together. Still simple?
When people make these statements I can only assume they’ve never dealt with licensing or trademarks. There’s a reason IP/Trademark/License attorneys get paid a crap ton of money.
Sure I could get the license for Marcy’s Playground, but who cares?
Quoted from flashburn:I forgot how douchy some people can be on here. The cost of a license would be based on how much content is used. For metal they could work with a single label, like Nuclear Blast and get a pretty good lineup of bands.
Don't bother responding though, because I won't see it.
Makes a snide remark. Can’t take one in return.
For the record, single label could work.
Quoted from PinMonk:Vaults are not cornerstones. Cornerstones are always new non-contract, non-boutique (Kapow, etc) Stern titles.
Precisely.
Based on Stern’s latest FB post about TPF it doesn’t look like there will be any reveal. Gary doesn’t even appear to be going.
I hope I’m wrong for sure, but not looking good.
Quoted from kermit24:Guys this bubble was burst last week. Bummer but it happens. If the reason is to squeak out more sales of existing games at TPF I think it’s a big mistake. It also sends a message to the most rabid of collector / fans that they really don’t want your business and would rather just throw the photos on IGN.
If the reason is licensing or it’s just not ready that’s different. We may never know.
I was holding out hope. This is like getting back with an ex that you hope has changed. Then they turn out to be crazier than ever.
Quoted from PW79:Iron Maiden sucks so F'n bad
I might buy one if the art, code & PF are legit tho
But FFS what an absolute terrible catalog of music
Old bastards, white trash & poser metal heads feel free to apply more thumbs down my way
I'm just here to troll you dirtbags anyway lol
Enjoy your Aerosmith, dirtbag.
Quoted from fosaisu:This is huge. I’m surprised it has taken this long for someone to lure him back into the ring, and I’m so glad deeproot didn’t get him. Can’t wait to see what he comes up with for his first new game.
I wonder if he’d ever do both design and code on a game again like he did with Shadow?Seems like a logical move, hope this means they’ve figured out the licensing. If they can clean up the print quality and improve the sound they’ll sell plenty of these.
Brian Eddy doing Led Zeppelin. Maybe that’s how they got him
