Quoted from TreyBo69:

what if they did Deadpool with a different translite and maybe cabinet art, give it some red and yellow armor trim, and boom...you got yourself a special edition of an extremely well rated game in time for the next movie

new lockdown bar with two boom buttons; yellow for Hugh, Red for Ryan. Add bonus modes (with hugh callouts + a few new clips) and your new translite ideer, plus lockdown bar = Viagra Deadpool upgrade kit for sale at Stern. I'd be in.

It’s a well made movie on a small budget. I wouldn’t call it the best movie of the year but for a Godzilla movie it was good

I think it gained a lot more attention for being made on a small budget and going back to its Japanese roots.

Dune 2 also got a lot of attention for being so massive on scale but made for much cheaper then the typical blockbuster.

I’m all for a Deadpool-Wolverine edition. Just hope if they do it, they add some additional modes to make the game deeper / give us more to do.

Don’t know how you all enjoy Dune part 1, but as usual just cause I hate the movie hope pin is fun if ever made as some seem to wish. I just watched Dune (part 1) for the first time boring as hell slow oh hell people like this crap, makes Avatar look good as it reminds me of Avatar in the desert and Tremors movies 1 through whatever a bigger hit

I have to agree here… It’s just a decent Godzilla film… Dune series is way cooler. Also love the idea of a brown powder coat LE

In my opinion the new one can’t beat characters like many from "Dune(1984)", Sting and Paul L. Smith(Glossu) where are those mean bullies in the new one? Sean Young was simply perfect, what about Paul’s thoughts(voice over) in the new one? Definitely that was a nice touch in the original, also Kyle MacLachlan was more analytical compared with the new Paul…
Anyway, there’s classics that are immortal in my opinion… so I’m with you Jackontherocks

*same as "King Kong", personally I love the 1976, the 1933 is difficult to be in a Pinball, and for me the 2005 was a mistake by Peter Jackson…
I hope for the 100th Anniversary that Hollywood give us a truly Masterpiece.

Sadly, I have given up hope of seeing any "masterpieces" coming out of Hollywood anytime soon. The industry shifted from movies being artistic expression by those who love film to being little more than a corporate product derived from focus groups. It pains me to say that because cinema and home theater are two lifelong hobbies that have been near and dear to my heart for most of my childhood and adult life. With that said, I would enjoy nothing more to be proved wrong. The 100th anniversary is without question deserving of Hollywood's best. Unfortunately, their best these days is a very low bar.

I dunno. Recent films like American Fiction give me hope. Such a fantastic critique of race and media, wrapped in a very dry comedy. Unbelievably good cast, too.

Great thing about movies and pinball, is that there is so much good old stuff, that I'll never get through what's already out there before I die. Anything new just adds to an inevitably unfinished list...

I have not seen that movie, but I will make a point to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation. There are some gems that arrive now and again, but not nearly the rate it once was.

#48421 41 days ago

There were a few good movies last year. Anatomy of a fall had some great acting and I’m always excited to watch a Yorgos Lanthimos film.

I quite enjoy the new dune films, pacing was an issue but Dennis Villeneuve is the real deal, his movies aren’t simply about spectacle.

Don't want to oversell it, but it came out of nowhere for me and blew me away. Laugh out loud moments at the race/media commentary for me, and the ending is literally a very funny commentary on exactly your point with corporate hollywood moviemaking.

Also, liked Poor Things. Such a weird movie, but the performances are just top notch, and the commentary is great. The director's prior movie The Favourite is also great. There's callbacks to The Favourite in Poor Things, so if you're watching Poor Things, better to watch The Favourite first.

I was all jazzed about the Indiana Jones rumor and Borg-dream theme with a dream team

I still have not lost hope and think the Indiana Jones franchise is one of the best of all time

I really think an IJ Temple or IJ Raiders would be stellar and I am a sucker for IJ and it would be hard to resist

Hoping they did not ditch the idea entirely and that it still may be on the table-or at least I hope so

The whole movie experience is in sad shape. Basically you have to wait for a director that is willing to take chances… people like the Coen brothers, Christopher Nolan and a few others…. But most have gone the way of Micheal Bay…

You nailed it. The whole pan-pc movement basically destroyed Hollywood (will’s bitch-slap didn’t help!). Dune remake looks good, but there’s absolutely no substance under it. No grit, no risks..it makes the Film Gladiator look like a rated X film (in comparison). Btw, I understand remaking films to a certain extent, but most remakes shouldn’t have been made (Total Recall anyone?). ..the new dune ‘looks’ amazing..but there’s nothing underneath it but CGI and weak acting/scripting to support it. Popcorn at its best (like most everything else these days).
If he had continued the series, and not just done a rehash, I’d be in; don’t ruin a good thing.

Agree, I can barley eat my popcorn watching 2nd one as also slow boring again as hell, worm multiple ball the movies. As explained above in past post watched these movies for the first time this week, struggled through the first one on Friday and turned off the 2nd one 45mins in on Saturday as could not handle it, maybe try to finish another day

Evangelion always seemed more like a Spooky theme IMO
It was honestly one of the last classic anime that came to mind when it came to good pin themes but I'd nevertheless like to see it someday.

Jack Danger had some really interesting tidbits in his stream last week about his next game. Its on his twitch channel if you want to watch it. He was kind of joking around a bit, so take all of this with a grain of salt because it all could have been just him joking around, but he said his next game has 1 spinner, there would be '2 and a half flippers' but then he paused said actually 'it equals out to 3'. Someone asked if the deadpost would be back and he said he couldn't say much, but that he wants to get several games under his belt before he starts going back to a thing - he wants people to see the only thing in common about his games is that they're fun. Sounds like it will be different and interesting, can't wait to see it!

I think Akira (1988) would make an insane pin. The major plot points just lend themselves to playfield features. The early highway sequence? Long wire form. The cryo-genic chamber? bash toy. The olympic stadium? inner loop. Akira blast? Outer orbit. Objectives like finding the children (random shots get lit), keeping tetsuo's power in check (hurry up mode), helping Akira battle Tetsuo (repeating loops), surviving the blast by escaping (shots in succession), etc.

Hell, I could make a homebrew on that theme alone. BRB...
