Quoted from frankmac:

Still I have my fingers crossed for a Tron LCD vault addition.[quoted image]

What you're describing wouldn't be a vault edition. It would be some thing ala Batman '66 from Batman Dark Knight.

#4552 4 years ago

I hope it’s teenage mutant ninja turtles and everyone sells their Deadpool’s and BKSOR to get one! I was pumped about Zeppelin until I heard it is going to be a recycled Quick Silver.

#4553 4 years ago

Is there any confirmation that Brian Eddy is next ?

#4554 4 years ago
Quoted from ToucanF16:

They've rested on the laurels of licenses (and made millions) for a long time with nothing original. It's time to shake it up a bit and get off the cookie cutter train.

Black Knight was that pin.

#4555 4 years ago

It should be a pinball themed pinball machine

#4556 4 years ago

I’d take an Avengers Endgame pin, but i hope for a Brian Eddy Jaws

#4557 4 years ago

The middle ground for me is things that are “only pinball licenses.” Not a movie, TV show, Broadway production or a rock band. No matter what you think of the game, Stern just did it with BKSOR. It’s a license they had to get, but it only exists in the pinball world. So I’d be happy to see something like a High Speed III. Both are titles that can stand on their own, yet are fairly timeless. I think that’s the closest we’re likely to get to a truly original game theme from the big players for a good while. At the same, I’d love to be totally wrong about that in the good direction.

A sequel is not an original pin.

Jaws was the code name for Jurassic Park. It's stamped on labels on the ends of the JP playfields.

So, no Jaws (thank god).

That means a Brian Eddy TMNT or Stranger Things. At this moment, I'm betting on TMNTeddy.

EDIT: If I have a downvote from a dingleberry, is that like a double negative, and actually an upvote?

#4560 4 years ago

Maybe TMNT is the code name for Jaws, wouldn’t that be interesting.

Double switchback codename would be a first, that's for sure. But I don't think Stern can be bothered with such esoteric nonsense.

Jaws would have been awesome, thank you very much.

As long as it remains in your imagination, we have no point of disagreement.

Seeing that Roy Scheider's expression on an LCD before a Big Boat Multiball starts would be just amazing.

On the other side, I don't feel the same for Cowabunga Jackpots all over the place.

Conversely, you could pull crappy Jaws 3D stills for the counterpoint.

There's a wide variety of Turtles stuff out there, and the tone varies widely. I would thing the morning kids show one is the least likely base for the game.

After passing on 3lvira, I'm kinda hoping Brian Eddy on an AFM II or AFM 2020
Could it be possible ?
If it does happen no shortcuts please Stern, and I will pay stupid money for an SLE, lol

Lyman is busy with 3lvira, so if you want the AfM dream team of Eddy/Lyman for a sequel, that wouldn't be likely unless Lyman is pulling double duty.

A ball eating jaws toy that jumps out of the playfield?

A la Brain Bug Style from Star Ship Troopers.

I still have it in the back of my head the TMNT could possibly be stern code for a game with little green dudes

#4571 4 years ago

Sewer shots like the FBI shot in x files would go well with the TMNT theme, skateboarding through the sewers and pizza, that’s what I remember from the show as a kid.

Just retheme JP2. Shark head for the dino, boat in place of the jeep. Walla, JAWS!

TMNT, as anyone knows, is short for "totally mad nucular timetravel", wich is obviously the codename for Bill & Ted!

#4574 4 years ago

I would absolutely love a 1984 Transformers. I'd buy one without thinking. Since it will not happen, I'll settle for the TMNT as long as it turns out well. I hope it plays Partners in Kryme.

Hopefully Stranger Things.

Stranger Things would be fine, but TMNT seems more like something Brian Eddy would do. Back to the point that a good pin is a good pin, regardless of theme, it doesn't really matter. Just get it shipping!

It’s 100% Stranger Things

#4578 4 years ago

How about a jaws with a lower playfield that rivals Black Hole

#4579 4 years ago

He can’t go down with three barrels, not with three he can’t

I thought the same thing..

#4581 4 years ago

It was have been nice if Stern was working on Guns N Rose's instead of JJP.

#4582 4 years ago

I would like stranger things or TRON vault

#4583 4 years ago

Need another rock pinball game. Motley Crue?

#4584 4 years ago
Quoted from gregh43:

Good lord why? I'll take a JJP build over anything Stern does....the only advantage Stern provides is time to market...

#4585 4 years ago

How about a Die Hard (first movie only) pin!

Callouts galore - some of the best ever, including a rated R version option

Welcome to the party pal!
Yippie Kai yay M'fer
Oh my God, the quarterback is toast
No no, you stupid M'fer
Were gonna need some more FBI guys I guess
Do you really think you have a chance against us

... The list is endless...

Then there's the mech/toy possibilities (Nakatomi Building, elevators, helicopters, tunnels, vent shafts

Beethoven symphony number 9 choral multiball! - epic

I mean Die Hard for better or worse set the bar for modern action movies in the 90's and still holds up very well to this day

This pin would definitely need movie assets though, anything else just wouldn't work...

Probably large cost involved for licensing alone

Still would love to see it though...

Not going to happen.

#4588 4 years ago

Motley Crue would be awesome

#4589 4 years ago

I still think a lego universe pinball would be cool. Lego has licensed everything, they could do a lot with it. The lego dimensions game for the ps4,xbox 1 and switch is actually pretty cool and has a ton of different tv/movies involved in it.

For us Science Fiction readers, a Dune would be awesome! But I know it will never happen.

A pinball based on a book... Well, that would put most people to sleep.
They'd say if I wanted to read a book I'd go to a library.
But, man... A Dune pin would be AMAZING!

Great theme... Lots of cool toys...

#4593 4 years ago
Quoted from frankmac:

The next Stern pin.

Will be a tiny lapel pin that comes with the new Stern Insider package?

#4595 4 years ago

They wouldn't even have to make any more. Just use the pile of NIB LEs rotting in the warehouse. Should be more than enough to cover demand.

#4596 4 years ago
Quoted from kciaccio:

Yep 2020 directed by denis villeneuve. After blade runner I know he is the right guy for this project.

Yeah, people hate the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dracula, and any other themes that started as books.

#4599 4 years ago

HR Giger inspired art work! Can you imagine how cool that could be? I know he died, but he left some finished Dune work.

Quoted from KnockerPTSD:

Yeah, people hate the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dracula, and any other themes that started as books.

Yes, but those movies have for many people transcended the books...
Dune hasn't had that major hit movie that connected with audiences. The book is still the most popular medium for the story.

Dracula... I read that book... The 1930s Universal film is nothing like it. I love Hammer films... But, no hammer came close to being like the book... Stokers Dracula... Pretty faithful... But, I like the hammers better.
And Dracula has transcended the book and is a pop culture figure in and of himself.

Charlie and hte Chocolate Factory is the real name... But, the Pin is based on the WILLY WONKA and the Chocolate factory movie... Not the book... Again... Title change.

Hobbit... Not based on the book. Based on the silly movies.

Again LOTR base on the really dang good movies. But, movies that were in turn based on Ralph Bashki's adaption of the film. Jackson has admitted it himself. He took a lot of cues from the 1970s animated LOTR...
So the pin is based on movie, that was in part inspired by another movie, that was based on a book...

So you see the separation... TO have something based solely on a book. That be cool. But, some people would be off put by it.

Edit... Lastly... I was joking. Maybe not a good joke. But, we all know people who refuse to read at all... Most people don't even read one book in a year... Heck. I'm trying to get back to reading regularly myself and I'm only at 8 books so far for this year. I'd like to get to 13 to 15 for the year.

PPS... The current book I am reading is a short story collection of Lester Del Rey. Amazing sci fi writer and publisher.
