Quoted from J85M:Has anyone else seen the pic doing the rounds of this Star Wars Hope Edition I’m not sure if the image I’ve seen is a joke or not are possibly the closest thing to the look on my face...
Care to share?
Quoted from choseh:"It's gonna be a most excellent game"
Stranger Things would be most excellent for me.
I hope the Stranger Things rumor turns out to be untrue, I was hoping Spooky or DP would pick that one up......shit!
Quoted from delt31:So it is? Did I miss it? Also no chance of Jurassic so just this stupid home pin?
Both. Jurassic Park/World will be next week or also possibly along with the SW garbage.
Quoted from Utesichiban:No Tron VE? Is this just an urban legend at this point or something that likely will happen?
Tron VE is unsubstantiated rumors, nothing concrete that I can recall seeing.
Quoted from f3honda4me:Both. Jurassic Park/World will be next week or also possibly along with the SW garbage.
I hope your right I had sold a few older games to fund JW.
Quoted from Pahuffman:Called my distro yesterday, and that's exactly what he said.
What that he can't believe it either.
Quoted from Darscot:How could it be just for the Shark? I guess you mean the name and the a Shark but nothing else from the movie? Also when it comes to licensing people should really be clear that Stern is only willing to pay for a limited license.
correct just the name Jaws and the shark thats it, nothing from the movie, that is why there is only one Jaws POP figure and its just the shark
pasted_image (resized).pngQuoted from romulusx:What the hell does rapey mean?
Maybe the friendly kind of neighborhood rape?
Alternatively we get a Phantasy Star Pin!!!

(Actually that would be one of my most beloved themes ever.)
Quoted from flashinstinct:Bet you Stern as you all fooled.
Doubtful but hold that thought !
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:I hate it as a pin enthusiast,
I wouldn't hate home editions ... they're a gateway drug to get people into buying and playing the real thing .
I think the whole "Star Wars home edition" is a big red herring / intentionally dropped nonsense rumor personally, but that's just pure speculation on my part.
Quoted from frankmac:lets see what we get tomorrow.[quoted image][quoted image]
I'd like to play that Transformers.
Played Spiderman home and actually found some of the shots way too difficult.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:I'd like to play that Transformers.

The speaker in the front and the wonky flippers and slings sucked.
Fix those and Spider-Man isn’t terrible.

Also ditch the dots for lcd.
Or just make real pins!
In theory, we might see two reveals: a home game and an Arcade game.
What makes no sense is why Stern would tell their distributors there is a homegame coming, if it will be distributed by Costco and/or Amazon. Did Stern tell their distributors about Pabst Can Crusher, Supreme and Primus? These games all had their own distribution channel.

The colorized dots on Spidey weren’t bad and the whole dots vs lcd thing is a non issue for me.
If they aren’t using good content I’d rather have dots.
Has me wondering now are they going to play it safe with the original trilogy or take a chance on Force Awakens/Last Jedi era?
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:and in Pinball it applies to shots that are repeatable. When hit enough, a high score will result or a match win. I hate all casual references to or uses of the term.
If you'll all permit the quick tangent, when I joined the local league they asked how they can get more women to attend. My first response was to stop saying stuff like "raping the spinner" and "raping the backbox for parts".

did it help?
Quoted from frankmac:So would Elwin or Eddy do the layout on a home edition?
Srsly, while Gomez had a lot (way too much for his position in the company) to do designing games at Stern, HE is the businessman-designer inside of Stern.
As an employer you can only pray for an employee like him tha has both, the passion and the companys interrest in mind like he does.
So if anyone can make a game within budget (and weight and other restrictions) that is him... at least he did so the last times.
Maybe they try something new if the last efforts didn't go so well, but usually I'd bet it's a Gomez Design.
(He had his fingers in the Ka-Pow titles like B66 and Beatles, he made Spider Man Home/ Supreme, The Pin wich is Tramsformers and the other, the Home Batman Dark Knight... and took Trudeaus place for Deadpool - this man is Jack of all trades and goaes everywhere where the shit hits the fan.)
In addition:
I just work on my Johnny Mnemonic. And while I think nearly every modern Stern is a little bit of a let down mechanics/ toy wise, JM (wich has a ridiculously intricate mech) is really sparse beneath the playfield (the hand mechanism is behind the backboard of course).
That game is optimized to the max. Look at the cables... then look at a JJP.
No sarcasm, no irony, I have the biggest respect for George Gomez work!

Edit:
For comparison, here's a Hobbit Playfield - https://www.pinballnews.com/shows/expo2014/47.jpg
I like AP for being kind in the middleground between Stern (sparse) and JJPG (ALL IN!!!). XD
Only one game could ever disappoint me more than Stern Star Wars
That game appears to be another Stern Star Wars (home edition)
Dang...
That’s ironic AF.
Skilled trolls there at Stern. Kudos guys. You got me good. Twice lol

Maybe they only told certain distros, to see who would leak? Must be 007 then, friggin spy thriller!

Things must be different over there. I will remember to avoid your "friendly" neighborhoods.
I will not overly bitch UNTIL we know for sure a second is not being announced.
Could Stern really tease us for a bullshit home edition of a terrible game (pro) to begin with? They couldn't right?

Jurassic is next not sure how or when .
Quoted from frankmac:It has a coin door.
I dont see any mechs or holes to insert or eject coins. Possibly to just service the games? Maybe they will be like hell, we will sell you mechs if you want to put it on route, for a day.
