Good to know.... thanks
Ehhhh, if it's 2025-2026, darn that's a wait (Really looking forward to the last season).
The kids will all be forty-seven years old and Vecna will have a four-pronged cane by the time the final season airs.

It was basically finally confirmed months ago when Eddy said Stranger Things is hard to get "right now" then realized he screwed up with his wording and only smiled broadly when the person asked for a followup. That was after the NLA projector magically returned to stock AND back in Jan 2023 when Gomez had mused about fixing the TK lock "if" it was rerun (that was pretty clearly a "when").
Quoted from PinMonk:Gomez had mused about fixing the TK lock "if" it was rerun (that was pretty clearly a "when").
Doesnt seem like he lived up to that.
Line up and pay. Limited time run of 2-3 years only or until you’ll are milked dry.
For the guy smashing the F5 key…stop it. You’re better than this.
Quoted from Only_Pinball:Doesnt seem like he lived up to that.
Has this been confirmed? I've only seen no mention of it, not that it wasn't addressed.
Gomez told me "There are a series of improvements in the game." so trying to get some clarity.

No one seems to know.

Would be nice if we can get an idea of what that is! Even the website doesnt list or show it having IC. This is the laziest thing Stern has done to date

They are running it for 2 years?
I put my $500 down for a STH Premium this morning...I'm not really concerned about the second-hand market selling these for aound 1K lower than MSRP, when I can get it in my hands in January (perhaps sooner), and also not be concerned about finding one in WA at a discount...Most Importantly, I'm super stoked I didn't have to buy a Premium for 13K! (which I wouldn't have). Although, I 'could' have waited for one of you guys to buy it NIB for me, then give me the discount when you sign up for a Jaws lmao.
Quoted from PinStalker:Look at all those ads for used premiums at 11K-$14.5K in the marketplace right next to the NIB ads at $9699
Reap it crooks. Try again at $8K where your used machines belong.
They aren't crooks, people were paying that. Nobody's going to walk away from money if they know it's there.
Think they deserve some kudos for just putting out more pros and prem and not upcharging for it. They easily could have pumped out some special pricing on these and folks would have been paying, but to simply rerun the game at the base current prices is really nice.

With improvements. Not just a straight re-run.

they got you right where they want you, you are paying a big increase over what they originally were.
Dunno. Gomez confirmed to me there are improvements to the game without detailing them. I guess we find out in Nov.

Seems odd that they would "make improvements" and have zero mention of them. Not like they are selling $10 toys.

Stern, man. An enigma, always.
Could also be that the "improvements" are from Stern's side, i.e. cost reductions that will not make buyers happy. I don't THINK that's the case, but we just don't know.
Quoted from PanzerKraken:Think they deserve some kudos for just putting out more pros and prem and not upcharging for it. They easily could have pumped out some special pricing on these and folks would have been paying, but to simply rerun the game at the base current prices is really nice.
Agree. Everyone was saying Stern would charge a higher price. But = we got the original games at the current prices. Kudos to them.

Yeah kudos for not gauging buyers more.
Quoted from PanzerKraken:They put "limited time only" on their Instagram also.
They haven't started filming, so season 5 won't be till 2025 at the earliest. And the actor strike still ongoing could push that to 2026.
If it's not really limited that's great, but do wonder if they can really make this last till the next season at this point
My understanding of the timeline is this:
Stern had all the parts/pieces to make more ST pins and they wanted to do another run, but their license ran out. They fought to get it back because the demand was huge. They almost scraped the whole thing, but they were able to secure it for a limited time...so they released it as soon as they could. It will be a limited run and will likely be finished for good afterwards.
If you are looking for a Stranger Things pin...this is your shot. You likely won't get another chance.

I don’t understand why they would have to fight to get it back and that this would be the last run. Duffer brothers seems to be into the pinball machine and it very much fits in with the retro nature of the show. Not buying this is the last run. I’d guess there will be more when show comes back and possibly some kind of super LE version to commemorate the final season.

The license is very expensive. I would venture a guess that if they didn't have the extra parts/boards...it wouldn't have been ran at all.
I commend Stern for not only trying to bring it back, but for making improvements and keeping the price reasonable. They DEFINITELY could have raised the price on this title.
They saw a need and worked like hell to meet it. I can't fault them for that (even if it helped themselves well...but it is a BUSINESS, after all)

It's the last run of 2023... Stern is still running games like Mando and AIQ with zero demand so I'm sure if there is any demand at all there will be future runs.

Exactly. “Last call” before the next “last call”. Don’t give in to the fomo like I did, back in December of 2021.
A limited release from spare parts? EHOH40th style?
Seems unlikely to me..... it's not like they have thousands of PF's just laying around..... and to not be in active production as the new season is released?
Zach at flippin said the accessories are being ran again..... does that imply spare parts too? There's hundreds of toppers just sitting at distros now - and they're making more. Doesn't line up does it? GOTG isn't getting it's accessories made for the Dec run (they'd sell), and that one is a final spare parts run.
I don't buy the license being that expensive either - it's the first two seasons only, and a license renewal. Everything points to a cornerstone returning.
If it was a final run edition - it'd be JP30th style..... why screw around with less profitable Pro's if there's limited PF's to build with?
Orders for projectors are probably in 1000 unit lots from China. They're going to make 2000 minimum, maybe 3000 or even 4000 by the time the new season starts.
Bet they renewed the license for 2 years: It carries them thru 2025 right when the show finishes and all interest is lost.
Could be one of the best selling Sterns of all time before the end...... and the largest drop in value after the show ends too.

No doubt. Ops have been clamoring for reasonable priced pros because STH has been a top earner for those that have one on location.
Common sense. Stern is a business whose goal is to extract every $$$ they can from us. Sound cynical? It’s based on their actions.
They aren’t doing this STH run just for the sake of filling the need.
Did they do that with JP30th, Bond 60th and selling 1,000 LEs of pins that people don’t want at $13K?
They tried didn’t they. Now the tables are turned.
Everyone seems to want to go into defense mode as if we are somehow protecting our “collection” and the value thereof.
I don’t agree that the license cost is excessive. And don’t forget, these are all sales that help INCREASE overall profitability on STH as all the fixed costs have been spent already.
DOWN is only direction this market is going. Some people just haven’t gotten the memo yet

100% Ice.
Fair value for STH premium is $8000, just like any used premium. Later it could be less.
Down it goes.... all of it.
Quoted from herbertbsharp:They aren't crooks, people were paying that. Nobody's going to walk away from money if they know it's there.
Of course they're crooks Herb...... think about it. Someone buys at an inflated price.... why? Because they believe it will further inflate or at least stay inflated: making their use of something "free" or at a profit. No one buys to have something lose value (unless they are going to keep it forever, in which case price doesn't matter).
Everything reverts to true value over time - there is a median value to all things. Sometimes things are overvalued, sometimes undervalued.
If you buy overvalued and have the express intention of pawning it off to someone else before it loses value - you're a crook. That's what scalpers and flippers do. They can lie to themselves that they are "investors" all they want, they're playing musical chairs and betting on the music not stopping.
The only exception is rarity, true rarity not perceived rarity or engineered rarity (both of those ALWAYS fail).
STH had minor rarity, plus a bunch of perceived rarity. People paid ultra high prices due to perceived rarity not true rarity.
You see the same in all things right now: Watches, Cars, Homes, etc. All are falling and will continue to fall. People chase false rarity and false value: wondering "what happened?" when the music stops.
The question is: when someone does this - are they responsible for what happens next? Of course they are!! They were the problem to begin with by chasing.
Stern is doing their part to slap their hands, and take that cash back - and they're right to do so, but at the same time they've increased median value by increasing MSRP. So they are helping those buying at the proper level and hurting those buying at speculative levels.
Used HUO machines as a rule of thumb should be 20% less then NIB MSRP. It's way past time to reset players value expectations and crush this bubble (just like watches, cars, homes, etc.). Nothing crushes bubbles quite like underwater people. For the 1st time in four years Stern is positioned to rock these people by flooding the market, and with Disney-Boy at the wheel they have the drive to do so (we see it nonstop now - and it's only going to increase).
It'll be a another bloodbath when CGC releases the next edition of MMr. It's coming, and it should come. This hobby has been out of control for too long, and everyone knows it.

I like it. I will add I think the only thing known to human existence with absolute scarcity is Bitcoin. Everything else ultimately trends towards zero with an infinite "potential" supply given enough demand and time. YMMV in that concept. Enjoy em while you're here and got em. Don't get caught up with what you paid for them. Buy only what you're willing to own and be stuck with forever if the market were to drop out and fall to zero tomorrow. That goes for any hobby for me.
That's what I say anyways.

No. Pricing is everything. I'm glad others are finally realizing it. Pinball is cool but it's not worth a 25% bath and that's what you are starting to look at. How did we get here, poor management decisions. Two years ago, I compared this to sports cards in the early 90s. What happened then? Mass production to capitalize on demand crashed the market. TBH in 2021 I would have jumped all over a BTTF LE, today I don't care if own one. Sorry Cru.

Price is not everything, everyone would like cheaper games and cheaper beer too. Pinball machines are not collectibles like cards, they are games people play. If you don't like the prices you need not own them, lots of locations to play for $1 or less.

Stern is a business to make money like every other business on the planet. The whining about "Stern cash grabs" is comical. No one has to buy anything, lots of great used pins out there, more every day!

I still have the box for my METLE!
