Quoted from Rolls-Royce:My son's 3 favorite movies are "Patton (1970)", "The Towering Inferno (1974)" and "Modern Times (1936)" he is 19 years young and almost every day he watches a movie from our collection (we have about 1200 between blu ray and 4K). When my Mom comes to my house to visit, she loves to play my Jersey Jack GNR and she is 68 years old. I retired at 41 yy (now 49) and I see that age is worth ass for what one gets or likes... 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60 is just a number and has nothing to do with tastes or hobbies in my humble POV

I live on Long Island, if there was ever a time to release JAWS now is the time to do it!

You hear that STERN?!?

Dogs are my Kryptonite

Thinking of Kryptonite, I wouldn't mind seeing a new Superman, any version. And with the last actor in that role (Cavill), I'm probably in for a Witcher as well.

lol, you're such a troll! Hahaha, sure, why not! Give me Superman, you can have He-Man (thou, with art like this, game would look great!)

Quoted from Pinbarclay:

1) It’s one of the biggest movies of all time
2) It’s one of the most influential movies of all time
3) It’s also one of the best movies of all time
That’s it. That’s the whole summary of Jaws. The pinball integration writes itself. And hell, you get Elwin on it? BLOCKBUSTER. Look out, Godzilla.
I’m still giggling over someone thinking Futurama is a better license.

A lot of hyperbole there for a film that did quite well in its time, but is truly pretty boring in retrospect.

If one of the big designers took a crack at it, I'm sure they'd deliver a game that was fun to play. The theme just doesn't carry today. Might as well make a Casablanca themed pin while we're at it.

I really don't want to drag the film through the mud, because I DO like it. But there is nothing about it that makes me desire a pin themed after it.

It's all about execution. Congo and The Shadow are two highly-rated pins and those movies were flops.

Please stop getting me excited for a Futurama pin that will never happen. The end of the episode with Frys dog gets me every time.

saddest episode ever…..

The pinball I really want to see that might be realistic is a Darth Vader pinball. Black on black with a chance to change the trajectory of the movie. The empire wins. Maybe an emperor multi-ball. "Luke I am your father" and Luke joins the dark side. A good villain pinball would be a nice change of pace.

It was the first blockbuster… people literally lined up around the block to see it.

Movies were a lot slower back then for sure.

However it has a lot gong for it.

1)Iconic theme song
2)Highly quotable
3)People are afraid of sharks, the theme stands on it’s own
4)it doesn’t need a playfield littered with toys just one or two impressive interactive ones.

all it needs is a good design to pull it together and some good coding to use the light and sound to create some pinball moments.

Jaws seems like the perfect theme for Keith Elwin, i just hope it doesn’t end up being a retro throwback game.

Thanks mate… I just saw the trailer of "Chopper(2000)" Eric Bana’s performance seems to be incredible.

Speaking about Australia I wish a "Road Warrior(1981)" Pinball, I simply love that film, specially Humungous and Wez characters(besides Max of course…) nothing is impossible so this Pinball can happen in a few years.

That backglass is badass!! Pin looks really cool to shoot as well.

Any Aussies in here have it? Mostly distributed in the land down under. 350 units total.

With Jaws, there'd better be a mech/toy where the big shark pops up out of the water (playfield) and you have to shoot the ball into his mouth. Missed opportunity otherwise.

and a moving fin

#38070 1 year ago

I was thinking a fin drop target that moves across the playfield that you have to shoot before it gets to a swimmer or a boat as well as a shark mech

#38071 1 year ago

Somebody let ZoraShinoda know that's a RAD idea. He's ignoring me...lol.

#38072 1 year ago

I'm not really a Jaws fan and have pretty much no interest in that theme. However, I never really cared for Godzilla and now going through all the old flicks with my wife.. I've also added Iron Maiden to my playlists because of Pinball. I'm keeping an open mind on the future.

#38073 1 year ago
Quoted from ZoraShinoda:

I was thinking a fin drop target that moves across the playfield that you have to shoot before it gets to a swimmer or a boat as well as a shark mech

the fin moves across the play field and is on a rotating wheel (under the play field), giving the illusion of the shark fin moving up and down, or coming in and out of waves

#38074 1 year ago
Quoted from Grantman:

It's all about execution. Congo and The Shadow are two highly-rated pins and those movies were flops.

I hear ya. And if I see those on location, I might play a few credits on them, but I doubt I'll ever purchase one.

If it ends up being Jaws, I'll probably treat it much the same.

I wish there were a Die Hard themed pin. THAT is one I'd buy.

This feels more like a (Bug) Spooky theme. They even have the castle ready a la Alice Cooper's Nightmare Castle and Scooby Doo (Blood Suckers Edition).

Sounds like it’s on the way, should be a great pin if Keith is on it. He keeps making better and better playing games with every go of it. It’s certainly time for Jaws

Die Hard, Venom, Stranger Things VE, He-Man, Jaws, BTTF, Tron VE, Road Warrior, John Wick, Indiana Jones, Dune, King Kong, Harry Potter, Top Gun, Ozzy.. then, there's Casablanca!

Whatever will Knapparcade be saying?!

I’m going to open a random reddit account and leak some cryptic messages about being in the know.

Stern fans are going to be disappointed if they expect jaws not to be a code name all i can say it flows amazingly and Elwin I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

^^^ I like to think most people are like this. A theme may or may not pull you in, but if you're open-minded enough to give something a fair chance, then you may just find a new favorite.

Jaws absolutely slayed in theaters... but have you ever looked at the top 25 releases for 1975? Yikes!

I still appreciate what Jaws did for suspense and the experience.

Other Spielberg movies have made excellent machines. I am surprised nobody jumped on Jaws back when it was hot.

Can’t think of anything to complain about today. Lots of titles are rumored so I’m in a wait and see what a finished one looks like mood. Why doesn’t someone build me a Predator pin?

it's he-man

I like them in this order:

Stth
Top gun
John W
Bttf
Jaws
Tron (new game not vault)
Indiana (3 first movies or one of the first three)
He-man
Venom
Potter
Ozzy

#38091 1 year ago

So is Tron vault in a few weeks no longer the hot rumor? Hard to keep track

#38092 1 year ago
Quoted from mbl1116:

If you were referring to my last post, I made a wishlist.
I own Tron so I dont care for a vault but a new game, with modern tech and different code would be cool.

#38093 1 year ago
Quoted from Kkoss24:

What ever happened to good , old fashioned leaks ?

They have been drowned out by clowns who "know" because: 1.) They spoke to their distributor, who obviously knows everything about what Stern is doing: 2.) People who are trying to "will" a game into existence by spreading false rumors regarding the imminence of a release (I'm looking at you GB fans); and 3.) Collectors who don't seem to understand the difference between speculation and rumors and treat either as truth regardless of the source.

There are a few people who I trust to actually "know" based on their track records of predicting titles. Some actively post here, some are Podcasters (or bloggers? What would you call Knapp?) Those that post here that i think are reliable tend to buy every title, and have double digit tenures on Pinside (i.e., they actually know Gary, Jack, etc.) Most of the people here are good at sounding like they know what is going on, but are really just full of crap. But the real "leaks" are still out there...

#38094 1 year ago

Movie pins require good dialog and interesting characters to hold interest over time. It can’t be omitted. It doesn’t need to be an action flick. Using that as the criteria :

Good Movie Themes - Big Trouble, Beetlejuice, Matrix, Lebowski, Jurassic Park, IJ (1-4), Toy Story (1-3), Pulp Fiction, He-Man, Jaws, BTTF, Maverick, Pee-Wee, Futurama and Predator

Bad Movie Themes - Wonka, Toy Story 4, Godfather, Venom, John Wick, Barbie, Hot Wheels and Lego Movie.

Healthy attitude. Well spoken.
