Quoted from gandamack:Maybe the new Stern will be a Bond SSLE.
Perfect!
Quoted from westofrome:Would love Stern to do a lighter/fun theme, but seems like it's not in the cards.
What would you consider to be a lighter theme?
Quoted from westofrome:Would love Stern to do a lighter/fun theme, but seems like it's not in the cards.
I agree - unfortunately we don't see many new hit comedies or funny cartoon series anymore.
Sad world we live in where everyone is offended by everything.
Quoted from Rizmo:What would you consider to be a lighter theme?
Updated South Park
Spaceballs
SNL
Muppets
Peanuts
Seinfeld
Jellystone/Hanna-Barbera
The Office
Always Sunny
The Hangover
Office Space
etc.

If they can make Big Juicy Melons, they can make a lot of other themes.
Said it before and I'll say it again, Harley Quinn (the show) would be great.
It's a different theme but also it's fundamentally Batman, so people are into the theme and will recognize it even if they don't watch the show. And it would be a more adult humor pin.
(and also yes, please make a new South Park. There is so much good material to mine from that show)
Quoted from Rizmo:What would you consider to be a lighter theme?
Zippo is probably the best-known.
But Stern would get burned if they tried that.
Quoted from JWP72:Time for a new South Park pin
Simpsons, too. It's been like 20 years since the last one, and there's been a TON of new content from the show in that time.
Quoted from Damonator:I may be in the minority on this one, but:

Keith David, Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis on callouts....yes, please!
My son was addicted to this show when he was young. I have no idea how it would hold up now, but he loved it then.
Am I the only one who hears Christopher Walken say "Foo Fighters" every time I read it?
I could see them being honored with a pinball machine. Grohl is president of Roswell who owns the song rights so licensing may not be as painful as others.

Yeah but they already mined the best years for content for TSPP. I'd be happy to see another Simpsons pin, but I don't see how you do better than what TSPP gives you in terms of sheer fan service.
Quoted from Grantman:If they can make Big Juicy Melons, they can make a lot of other themes.
Sadly that was another time.
You can't do anything in 2023. It's really F'd up.

I'm not a rabid Simpsons fan (which I did not admit when I chatted up Matt Groening when I met him), but I still enjoy it when I happen across an episode. There's enough content now that they could EASILY do just a Treehouse of Horror themed Simpsons pin since there are 33 of them as of last year. That's pretty severe fan service, and I think it would be amazingly entertaining. According to IndieWire (https://www.indiewire.com/gallery/best-simpsons-treehouse-of-horror-halloween-episodes/treehouse-xv/), 3 of the top 10 are after the Stern Simpsons pin, so I wouldn't say there's no good content for a new Simpson's pin.

Honestly I started rewatching the show this current season. It's surprisingly decent? But maybe my expectations were that low to begin with...
Quoted from JWP72:Time for a new South Park pin
Indeed I can’t stand that no new SP has still been created.
A Treehouse of Horror pin would be pretty cool, that would be much more appealing to me than another rock band or superhero theme. It's also long running enough that people of various generations would recognize it.
Personally I think a MST3K pinball would be awesome too. Leverage Insider Connected to download new movie modes periodically and let the user configure their favorite ones for the game modes, or maybe just randomize them.
I’ll take that or Streetsharks haha!

South Park Coon and Friends would be so good.
Severance would work because of its simplicity. Lots of humor, office theme, dark like Black Mirror. Rules could be easy to understand. Puzzles, office rewards, etc. Show is new so license might be affordable.

Holey Moley
Anything but superheroes and old rock bands
Price is right is a new one I haven’t heard. My vote is for that, Muppets, or Wayne’s World.

I don't think Apple+ has any tv shows with a large enough audience to warrant Stern to produce a pinball machine on. No disrespect to the show itself. Never seen or heard of it, but Adam Scott is always great.
The main benefit of using a theme is that you can already guarantee about 1000 sales of a machine based on die-hard fans to begin with.
I just think they'd probably just be better off just doing an original theme so that they don't have to pay any licensing fees.
Unless they do a Ultraman/Halloween or Shrek/Family Guy type thing.
Ted Lasso makes way more sense if they did Apple TV.
It’s comedy, it’s newish, it’s pretty popular, and Jason Sudekis is a pinhead who would enthusiastically do callouts for the game
I don’t think they’d sell many, but that’s the Apple TV property that makes sense as a pin.
I enjoyed Severance a lot, but don’t really see it as a game/pinball-adventure. Like what are you doing?
Quoted from Grantman:If they can make Big Juicy Melons, they can make a lot of other themes.
You will NEVER see a theme like this in the future. Too much of a liabilty for any pin company in this brave new word. I am not turning this into a political rant.... it is just a fact.
Quoted from explosiveegg:I don't think Apple+ has any tv shows with a large enough audience to warrant Stern to produce a pinball machine on. No disrespect to the show itself.
Ted Lasso made the top 10 streaming chart for its second season with 507 million minutes for the week it was measured well after launch, and has only grown since then. It was only a couple notches down from behemoth Seinfeld on the weekly streaming minutes. That, plus the fact that it's football/soccer themed means it has the potential to appeal worldwide. We haven't had a soccer pinball since 1996's mediocre Flipper Football (two years before that WCS'94). The world outside of the US is bananas for soccer, and I think the US popularity of Ted Lasso coupled with the world's obsession with Football/Soccer could make a pretty successful pin.
Quoted from TreyBo69:I enjoyed Severance a lot, but don’t really see it as a game/pinball-adventure. Like what are you doing?
It can't be explained. You just move the ball around and it will eventually make sense. There's no score, either. Just lights and sounds with the occasional callout.
Quoted from PinMonk:the US popularity of Ted Lasso coupled with the world's obsession with Football/Soccer could make a pretty successful pin.
You don’t have to convince me

Presidents of the United States of America would be a much more fun 90’s theme than foo fighters. That whole self titled album has enough content for a pin with some fairly deep rules
Quoted from Ballderdash:You don’t have to convince me [quoted image]
Should have dressed the older kid up as Roy Kent and given him a script everyone he met that Halloween would REMEMBER.
I love the idea of using Insider Connected for special challenges or "raid boss " type of events. I'm not s huge fan of Pokemon but could see IP like that matching up well to rotating IC content.
Quoted from gandamack:You will NEVER see a theme like this in the future. Too much of a liabilty for any pin company in this brave new word.
EHOH is full of similar wit and double entendres and is selling quite well.
Quoted from PinMonk:Should have dressed the older kid up as Roy Kent and given him a script everyone he met that Halloween would REMEMBER.
Gave serious thought to Tartt and Kent Jersey’s for the boys. Admittedly, they were here, there, and every f’n where around the neighborhood that night.
Quoted from westofrome:Peanuts
etc.
Quoted from Maverick222:Genuinely curious. Would anyone be interested in a John Wick pin?
You would have to shoot every shot twice
Quoted from PinMonk:We haven't had a soccer pinball since 1996's mediocre Flipper Football (two years before that WCS'94).
2000 Stern Striker Xtreme
Quoted from sanctumwear:2000 Stern Striker Xtreme
Even worse than Flipper Football, I guess I blocked it out. Even jumping off from that point, it's been 20+ years with no soccer/football game.
Ted Lasso would fit that bill great.
Quoted from Mancave:Westworld!!! (the series, not the movie)
doesn't look like anything to me
Quoted from PBhead:How about an FFFB
I had to do a double take.. reminds me of the old Mad art style like Sergio Aragones. I might as well throw Groo into the mix, one I grew up with!
Would make a great homebrew but I don't think it is for the masses.
