Bond 60th ?
Any info?
Quoted from Pugster:Has anyone ever made a pinball based off of a book (pre visual media)? Seems weird but hear me out…
No actors to pay
License likely cheap
Huge range of good/creative ideas out there
Still could have recognition with the right title, or who cares
All of the money saved could go into BOM. Few limits on creativity for the designer…
Just spitballin here but when I hear about a pin based on “Wednesday” or whatever I wonder if Stern just needs to have the cojones to go unlicensed or just entirely different.
I had started a thread on this topic .I’ll have to look it up and see if there’s been postings .Someone had mentioned that movies start as books but not all of them .I was pushing “Kingkiller Chronicals” by Rothfuss and the “Riftwar Saga” by Feist .

Rumored reveal by the end of December via TPN .
I had a chance to interview George Gomez earlier this week. He dropped some solid nuggets during it.
CONFIRMED:
Only two games next year.
One is Brian Eddy, with Dwight on code and Zombie Yeti on art.
Second is Jack Danger, with Tanio on code and Zombie Yeti on art.

George also said multiple times we may see Stranger Things premium again. Good job leading him down that path, lol.

Thanks! Yeah I was very happy and surprised to hear that.
The Eddy game is probably Venom? Zombie Yeti on art seems to mean it won't be Todd McFarlane doing that art.
Quoted from DeadFlip:Love George!
He gets to dangle those tidbits I can’t. Hehe
Jack’s lips are sealed tighter than a steel trap.

Maybe unlicensed?

HELL YES!
Sounds exciting for sure.
Quoted from Pugster:Maybe unlicensed?
joelbob asked GG about unlicensed and he said stern will likely do one again someday, but it didn’t sound imminent.

maybe a home/pro/premium?
Quoted from TreyBo69:maybe a home/pro/premium?
That is an interesting idea. Stern did say new home titles will still be released. If Jacks game is the 2nd one next year timing would be right for a holiday run.
Quoted from mr9865:No Elwin in 2022 and 2023! Did he retire?
60th anniversary Bond is by Elwin.
Jaws was the rumor for the next Elwin cornerstone.

If only 2 games next year they may actually get lapped by Multimorphic. With 2 games launched last year (one 3rd party) and two scheduled for 2023... plus mini-games.
Quoted from mr9865:No Elwin in 2022 and 2023! Did he retire?
GG said something along the lines of just wait until you see Keith’s next game when he was talking about the upcoming cornerstone schedule.
GG talked about the fact he can leak these details because he is an officer of the company and allowed to but his team absolutely cannot. This is why I listen to every GG podcast. Always new tidbits.
Quoted from Pugster:Maybe unlicensed?
Video game license would be a new direction for Stern.
But then again, so would pharmaceutical. A whole new pharma pin line. Can wait for Ozempic by Stern.

Would it only be for people with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis?

Bond is hinting at a future viagra pin. They are getting let’s of real world testing with the love rocket.

I dunno. Bond has been shipping with rusty balls, so I think that's a bigger hint that there's no viagra pin.

Good point!
Quoted from Vitty:Oooof two games next year, ouch
why 'oooof' and 'ouch'?
if stern still has supply chain issues, would it make any sense to announce more than 2 titles and then not be able to produce them in a timely manner?

and raise prices while you wait for your build !

So would childrens cartoon from the 80s or 90s. Still holding out hope for a He-Man or a Batman Animated Series, but any big game company would be interesting. He did stream the video game awards so there's a chance any of those award winning titles could be coming to pinball.
Quoted from Gutterghoul:So would childrens cartoon from the 80s or 90s.
They just made TMNT last year...
Quoted from Gutterghoul:So would childrens cartoon from the 80s or 90s.
You mean like TMNT?
Not, by definition, a new direction. Been done last year.
Maybe 2 pins will mean more focus on quality and launching with more mature code. I’m fine with that.
Quoted from TreyBo69:If it's a unique direction for a theme, then I'll say it's Beastie Boys as a rap/rock hybrid theme.
GG confirmed zombieyeti on art for Jacks pin. Are there any bands out there that would be a good fit for his style?
Quoted from thekaiser82:GG confirmed zombieyeti on art for Jacks pin. Are there any bands out there that would be a good fit for his style?
Gorillaz would be a good fit for ZY. Not that I think it's that, just saying
Quoted from ZoraShinoda:So does that mean 2 cornerstones? Kapow or new home pin possible in addition?
Always possible but Gomez said 2 games next year, he didn't say 2 cornerstones like the press release earlier this year that had people speculating
Quoted from Sethman:Turtles was 2 years ago
Ok it came out two years ago. They were still building them just a few months ago...
Quoted from thekaiser82:GG confirmed zombieyeti on art for Jacks pin. Are there any bands out there that would be a good fit for his style?
All the bands.

Right, two new pins is more than anyone else is doing, plus they have a catalog of titles people want that still sell out whenever a wave is released. Pretty much everyone is sold out already on the next wave of Elvira. Bond is gonna be selling like gang busters for the next year, Godzilla pretty much sells out each run, Iron Maiden moves quick, and they are cutting a bunch of the fat on their lines by having announced 6 retired titles these past few months already.
They put out more output than anyone else and got more titles than anyone else, why do they need 3-4 games a year? If anything releasing too many games a year was starting to hurt them as we saw a pile up of the lesser wanted titles starting to happen.
Trim the lines down, produce more of what folks actually want. The distros need less random stuff like LZ and Rush which just sits around unsold for long periods of time. One of my local distros has had LZ in stock and not moved for over a year now. Has had Rush unsold since the last drop, and some TMNT still when new last waves are coming of these titles too.

He's very familiar with the Foo Fighters...
zy1 (resized).pngzy2 (resized).pngzy3 (resized).pngTwo pins is pretty prudent considering rising prices and an uncertain economy going forward. With where prices are come '23, Stern won't be missing out much on the missing two games. Will also allow them to play catch-up on previous game releases.
Quoted from thekaiser82:George said the DeadFlip game is kind of a new direction for Stern. I thought that was interesting. So maybe not a music pin or a music pin with a big twist?
Ted Lasso. Not an action movie/show or band. Sudekis is a pinball nut, the S3 release will be sometime next year, and there are lots of links to Foo Fighters, which may be the codename. It's a risky guess and only 50% motivated by my love of the show, but it lines up.

A sports comedy theme, my wallet will be safe from that one.
I don’t think there would be much demand at all for Ted Lasso, but I would enjoy the callouts of Ted trying to encourage the player (compared to a Ritchie game taunting the player). Would be a great theme for offering novice/intermediate/advance play settings so the coaching callouts don’t become annoying.
