Buddy was mentioning they saw a Live and Let Die slot machine on their most recent Vegas trip. No idea about the licensing process but maybe a selection similar to the available casino games? If Bond, would be sweet to have all of the eras
Die Another Day
Goldfinger
Live and Let Die
Tomorrow Never Dies
Diamonds are Forever
Thunderball
Casino Royale

There are several Bond slots in Vegas and I played the heck out of all of them last weekend. Live and Let Die, Thunderball, and Casino Royale all in identical video-slot form factors. There is also a Thunderball bond in old-school 3 reel version.

These are great fun. I always make it a point to play them when in Vegas

They are terribly bad. Lol. Easy pass

Like old Godzilla movies

Like old Godzilla movies

except that Godzilla did not have scenes with slaves working in high end hotels (usually black) acting as servants of the powers that be (mostly always white) neither have sexist jokes and other sexual innuendo. Godzilla was for kids, it is campy and ridiculous and it is fun whereas Bond is just a dated version of our society that is better left behind.

Eh we forget the many very distasteful presentations of island natives in Godzilla films. There was literal brown face all over several of the movies. Super cringe nowadays

you might be right, never been a huge GZ fan and have not seen any real old movies.

Back in the days men wanted to be like james bond and the women wanted their men to be like james bond. Times changed yes but forgetting our history and where we came from is a mistake.

So a paid employee at a hotel working as a bellhop or waiter... super racist.

There have been 25 James Bond films over the past 60 years. You are lumping them all together as if they all are loaded with racist and sexist scenes. If you don't like them, don't watch them and don't play the games based on them. No pinball theme is for everyone.

agreed, if they do make a bond with the old school bond, they might make it without all the cringy bits and it might be ok.
I really do not care about some old cringy boomer script lines though, if it not for me, just like Elvira isn't but some folks go crazy about it even though you can barely understand what she said through her dentures. lol

Let's get real here! lol

A more modern approach with the latest Bond would be much more fun imho.

I dont remember reading about forced slavery in hotels in the 1960s and 1970s? Ive read a couple history books too.

If you watch the movies without an entitlement mentality and pay attention you will see it, the mannerism and the dialogues, and how often these people in the film are depicted as 'not as bright' as the white man in the suit.. We will leave it at that. I think this topic has gone far enough.
And the fact that you are trying to call me out as racist for pointing out a racist time in history, is quite ridiculous.

let's move on now, cheers.

Can't make a Bond movie that I won't like. Doesn't mean I want a Bond pinball. Well, maybe Live and Let Die...

Roger Moore is still the best, he would be already in bed way before the chick even got there.

No one has called you racist. Just responding to your claims about slavery in the hotel industry. Can you recommend a book for me to read? I'd love to learn more on the topic.

This is suppose to be a great day : James Bond is finally the next pin.

Why all you guys fighting ?

#30923 1 year ago

Racism is deplorable, sexism is none better, but I dont think enjoying bond means you agree with either as long as you acknowledge it.

That being said, If they do Bond im sure it will be some cherry picked assets to avoid.... well this.

#30925 1 year ago

Bond would probably be cool.

Oddly specific Bond movie? Less cool

A lot of folks put Moore at the bottom of the list, but I agree and like Moore the best (besides Craig-era which is a different conversation). Moore embodied the campiness the best. For Bond, I want full camp or full serious, it loses me when it goes somewhere between.

#30927 1 year ago

I really like the games Brian E. Has produced.
If he is on Bond it could be a winner.
Gomez Bond would be fantastic.

When I first heard there might be a Bond pinball table I thought it would be hard to license. Which bond? Which movie? Then I thought what if they did it more like JP. The player is "Bond" and the playfield is populated with gadgets and villains. Add in a logo and some music and we are good to go. Surely they would be cheaper to license as I am sure Sean and Daniel would want a nice chunk. Hopefully its just one more week to wait and see!

You mean the late Sean Connery's estate. Coincidentally, he would have been 92 years old today!

100% - no need to commit to a single “Bond” because the player is the next 007. Still lots of ways they could incorporate callouts and clips from the films without locking into one movie or Bond.

Thunderball is probably the cheapest license. Never say never again is also Thunderball remake because someone else holds the license to to it. so I’m sure they went with that so they didn’t have to pay Amazon.

Weird I thought Kaneda already said Venom was next. It’s almost like that guy just says a bunch of stuff and then afterwards pretends like he’s an insider when in reality all the people who actually work in pinball manufacturing hate him.

I’m confused, if a guy looks a woman up and down is that offensive nowadays?

‘Friends’ would be canceled if it was made in 2022.

Well he did tease releasing the name of Steve Ritchies music pin for probably 3 months and then about a week after saying its Billy Joel has already said its not Billy Joel. Hes been right on sometimes, but many times hes just guessing like the rest of us. I find the banter fun either way

“The woke lecture” is my FAVORITE feature of Pinside.

#30939 1 year ago

Buddy of mine has said Venom is on the line and ready ship after announcement.

He buys every new Stern pin and has good relationship with distributor..

Make of that what you will.

I’m just pleased that my wallet will get a break and I can save for the next game.

#30940 1 year ago

I'm a die-hard pinhead that has never heard a Kaneda podcast or seen any of his posts. From what I have seen and heard, I may better because of it. I heard he can be a little negative and pessimistic at times. If so, I don't have time for that in my life. But then again, I've never heard him so I can't say I like him or not. I'd give him a listen if he wasn't behind a paywall.

I am a diehard TPN listener. Triple Drain is #1. TPS #2. I listen to the other podcasts as well. I really like to watch Joel with after hours as well.

As far as the next pin, I hope it's not Bond, I am on one of those LE lists for Bond and I just bought a Rush Premium and could use a couple months to regain the funds.

I'm all in on Bond, especially if Gomez is the designer. I've owned a Beatles, like Deadpool, and currently own a BM 66. His stuff rocks. I always like to see what is next, but because of my recent purchase, I'm out. I know what I'm got with Rush, quality shooter with good code and good music. Its family friendly as well.

I look forward to seeing all the new releases. Bring it on.

#30941 1 year ago

Next game is a Gomez game from what I was told. Should be three flipper as well.

Give me my Bond straight from the movies, no watered-down bullshit.

This is interesting as I have a very similar situation with a friend of mine and he told me it's Bond. Curious to see which of the swirling rumors is correct.

I'm with you on Bond, not a theme I would jump on right away. George is the man so I'm excited anytime we get new Gomez.

I think VENOM will be next . Folks looking at blurry playfield pics from Stern video see 5 drop targets so they say VENOM. also with 5 letters
is JAMES . Kaneda said James Bond pin will be Thunderball which would be awesome if true. I hope Venom it is loaded and fun.

Is it true ? Stern Jaws or Back to The Future -will not include Cast members?

Not sure there is enough meat on the bone for a Jaws without the Cast.. Bruce quite frankly is dated..
Though the acting and storytelling has been the only thing that has stood the test of time.

Back to the Future.. Without the character actors is just a bad Car. Might as well make a American Pickers Pinball with a Delorean .
