Quoted from Rizmo:

It’s actually a pretty good show. If it’s the Venom super hero or the show both would look nice next to my Deadpool

I mean I like the show all right. It's basically a high school drama though. And I don't know how it translates into a pin...what are the toys?

Stranger things is a fantasy show. There are monsters and shit. So yeah, easy make a pin. I think tv shows/movies without fantasy in general are harder to make a really interesting pin for. Not saying impossible, just harder.

Tell me you’ve never watched Stranger Things without telling me you’ve never watched Stranger Things lol.

Love Stranger Things!! Especially how Mr. Feeny is always shouting "Marsha Marsha Marsha!" and hanging out at Al's Diner.

Excellent choice. TMNT is a severely underrated game. Love mine.

What would you guys think about a Back To The Future game using assets from another BTTF game. Tell-tale games did a neat retro stryled point and click game about 10 years ago that would work. You wouldn't have the issues with the original actors licenses (they are not in it) and there are already lots of graphics to use. It would still be the same theme with the same characters, just different voices and a cartoonish style.

#30866 1 year ago

It's the final countdown-one more week...

Bond-James Bond

#30867 1 year ago
Quoted from friscopinball:

Venom. Venom. Venom.

They've already done the only two Marvel's that really interest me. Venom is a yawn unless it really is revolutionary in game play. How about switching to a different type of comic: The Boys!! We need more of the c-word in pinball and we already know Karl Urban likes doing call-outs. A voice actor just wouldn't be the same.

People want this title because they love the original movie/trilogy, not the videogame. IMO, it's pointless to do it if you are not going to have art, audio/video clips and music from the original movie. It's the same for James Bond or any other licensed property--if it's a generic "secret agent guy" (without Connery, Moore, etc.) then why bother getting the license? I know it would still sell just because it has the name of a popular franchise, but it would be a huge disappointment.

Back to the Future is the only title my wife has ever said we would have to get that .
But if it's computer game or cartoon animations , forget it .
If they don't get original assets , they can keep it !

This has potential. I'll make the trek to the first local arcade that gets it and buy overpriced beer while I play it.

Rumor from Kaneda is that James Bond Thunderball is the next Stern Pin.

I will only consider Thuderball for purcahse if it has that character Jaws

Kaneda has a pinball podcast fyi. Jaws would be the perfect Villain to go with a bond pin. Unfortunately Jaws is not in Thunderball.
We will just have to wait and see.......

[quoted image]

This makes no sense to me. A general Bond pin, yes. A game that focuses on one movie from 1965, no. That's about as silly as doing Toy Story 4, IMO. I'm wondering if someone fed him bad info on purpose...although he did get the TS4 call right. We'll see...

EDIT: Now I see it was probably a joke. But I don't follow Kaneda so I wouldn't know.

Not terribly bad to me, I’m going to try and watch them all (most are streaming somewhere).

I remember growing up watching them whenever I could.

#30886 1 year ago

I am a huge James Bond fan. I watch all the movies once a year starting in November. I have bought the complete set numerous times (VHS, DVD, BR and soon 4K).

My top 3 are:

Live and Let Die
Man with the Golden Gun
Goldfinger

Thunderball is nowhere near my top 10.

I have cash in the bank for the next stern release but it will stay there if it is Thunderball. I love James Bond and Pinball and I would not buy it...who is the target audience for this?

It can't be real.

We watched a Master Pancake riff of Goldfinger, it was even more cringy B movie quality than I'd remembered. Octopussy was just as bad. I don't know how these movies aren't treated as comedies.

Yes, Goldfinger would be a much better choice if it was based on just one film. I'm still hoping for a Bond pin that includes Roger Moore, however.

Godzilla has content from numerous films and he fights numerous foes.

If it is indeed Bond, I better be able to put the smack down on oddjob and jaws and whoever else.

Bond could definitely work.

Buddy was mentioning they saw a Live and Let Die slot machine on their most recent Vegas trip. No idea about the licensing process but maybe a selection similar to the available casino games? If Bond, would be sweet to have all of the eras

Die Another Day
Goldfinger
Live and Let Die
Tomorrow Never Dies
Diamonds are Forever
Thunderball
Casino Royale

Yes they may seem like it today, but Bond movies at the time were the leading edge of movie making. Most of the 70's movies tried to incorporate stunts that had never been done before, some breaking world records if I recall correctly.

The 70's was not just a different time....it was a whole different place!
