Quoted from Fezmid:And then Insider Connected can let you play Godzilla vs. Kong between two tables... somehow! (I'm an ideas guy, not an implementation one, at least when it comes to this ).
Hire this man!!!!

Sweet Jesus please be real!
Quoted from Ballderdash:At 32:49 Gary says of DE BTTF - “It was a great game, it’s a pretty dated title right now”
What does that mean?
I took that as it didn't age well.
Quoted from Ballderdash:At 32:49 Gary says of DE BTTF - “It was a great game, it’s a pretty dated title right now”
What does that mean?
Sounds like they're not building a BTTF pin anytime soon.
Quoted from Ballderdash:At 32:49 Gary says of DE BTTF - “It was a great game, it’s a pretty dated title right now”
What does that mean?
Obviously it means an updated BTTF is overdue!
Whilst BTTF is an instant buy for me, had my name down with our Stern Distributor for quite a while. Gary's comments don't bode well for a BTTF game anytime soon. As is evident throughout the interview, anything Stern he talks up. There was absolutely no hint of positivity about BTTF when it was mentioned. Shame, as it could be a great game with so many cool toys and modes.
Quoted from Ballderdash:At 32:49 Gary says of DE BTTF - “It was a great game, it’s a pretty dated title right now”
What does that mean?
Not sure as it's not a great game, and as for STERN doing dated titles, excusing music pins, they don't.
Quoted from DKong:Not sure as it's not a great game, and as for STERN doing dated titles, excusing music pins, they don't.
Ghostbusters, Jurassic Park, Batman 66, Elvira, Munsters aren't dated?

They also did a 2nd Ninja Turtles
Quoted from solid_snake:Ghostbusters, Jurassic Park, Batman 66, Elvira, Munsters aren't dated?
Same thing for Jaws if the rumors are true...and we know they bought the license a while ago.
Quoted from Ballderdash:At 32:49 Gary says of DE BTTF - “It was a great game, it’s a pretty dated title right now”
What does that mean?
Dated title = they have a date in mine to start production.
The glass is always half full!
Quoted from solid_snake:Ghostbusters, Jurassic Park, Batman 66, Elvira, Munsters aren't dated?
When he said it "was" a great game I took it as the game itself didn't age well. Not the theme itself. Meaning it's almost pre DMD era it's time for a fresh version!
Quoted from MacGruber:When he said it "was" a great game I took it as the game itself didn't age well. Not the theme itself. Meaning it's almost pre DMD era it's time for a fresh version!
He said dated “title”. To him in this context, title = theme unfortunately.
Out of curiosity, can anyone fill me in on how/when the BTTF rumor got started?
Quoted from frankmac:Added a Rush pro and having a blast!
[quoted image]
Rush is a fantastic game - Enjoy!
I saw some mention an anime-themed pin; while it's not my cup of tea there are a few I could envision as a reality:
Studio Ghibli
DBZ
I know it'll never happen but I'd enjoy seeing an Iria: Zeiram the Animation.
Pokemon, Metroid, Castlevania, Mario/Mario Kart, Kirby, Smash Bros...any Nintendo theme would knock it out of the park. All Nintendo has to do is give the word.
I would LOVE to see Mega Man get a pin but if history has taught me anything with the franchise it's "don't get your hopes up".
I know the rights were/are all a jumbled mess but I still think Friday the 13th has the potential to be an amazing pin. Several cabins, shooting the ball into scoops to save campers while "Jason" moves around the table, ticking down the number of survivors. Or hell, allow the player to BE Jason, chasing down lit cabins, stalking campers. (or better yet, offer both options) "Ki-ki-ki-ma-ma-ma" as a precursor to multiball. They did some AMAZING art for the last blu-ray box set, just hire that guy for play field art.
Quoted from MacGruber:When he said it "was" a great game I took it as the game itself didn't age well. Not the theme itself. Meaning it's almost pre DMD era it's time for a fresh version!
I really don't get this. It's one of the most popular pop culture themes ever. They're still pumping out t-shirts and toy DeLoreans every year....and they want to make a Jaws pinball machine based on a poster with no assets from the movie? I could care less about Jaws now or a Jaws pinball machine.
If they're making Jaws, they should be making Back to the Future....and if they don't care about Back to the Future? Another company has the license or it's too costly for Stern to worry about right now.
Quoted from Ballderdash:“It was a great game, it’s a pretty dated title right now”
Gary got it exactly backwards. It's one of the worst games of all time, but the title couldn't be hotter for all you nostalgia-obsessed grayhairs.
Of course he can't say any of their games are anything but great.
Quoted from Merendino:Several cabins, shooting the ball into scoops to save campers while "Jason" moves around the table,
Replace cabins with hedges and boy do I have a game for you.
Quoted from yancy:Gary got it exactly backwards. It's one of the worst games of all time, but the title couldn't be hotter for all you nostalgia-obsessed grayhairs.

My hair is grey and I still have my hopes the dream 80's game will come back with a vengeance to the delight of myself and all others stuck in time!

Before I realized it was a Beatles Diamond, I thought that was WWE LEs stacked behind him and they were using that office for overflow storage.
On another note along the lines of Pokemon and Mario Kart... A Lego Movie pin would be fun and work thematically. A master builder collecting pieces (targets/shots) to create an object (mode) in order to defeat Lord Business etc (mini wizards).
I find it really funny how we all watched the same video and walk away with a complete different view and interpretation of what Harry said.
In my view, he moved on very quickly from the BTTF subject, also I think the whole “title is now dated” was always about the actual game itself which IS super dated (game play wise)
There is 100% a new one on the works is what I think and the way he was expressing when talking about it seemed to me like he was trying hard not to say or make any faces that’d give it away!
BTTF rocks, and if they are able to get all assets it will be one of the best pinballs ever made, if they don’t, then may be best not to make one at all.
Quoted from RPZ:if they are able to get all assets it will be one of the best pinballs ever made, if they don’t, then may be best not to make one at all.
Just because you have assets doesn't mean a game is going to be epic. Exhibit A is all the Star Wars pins. That's arguably the most pin-friendly set of assets, ever. How many have their been? 7? And in my opinion, none of them reach into the upper echelon of pins (top 20ish or so).
Mandalorian is probably the best of this group, and its just OK, frankly. And the best part of Mando is the assets. The layout itself is pretty average. Ratings and prices reflect this. Of course, the opposite end of that group is truly awful. SWE1 was so bad, you can argue it contributed to the downfall of B/W. And SWE1 had full "assets" with some of the very first video footage in a pin.
Quoted from RPZ:There is 100% a new one on the works is what I think and the way he was expressing when talking about it seemed to me like he was trying hard not to say or make any faces that’d give it away!
Yes, Gary is very disciplined about not saying anything about future titles. He knows to not cannibalize the current games they are making/selling. If someone knew that BTTF was coming, they might cancel their order for Deadpool/TMNT/Elvira/whatever.
Wasn't Gary running Data East when Back to the Future: The Pinball was made? That accounts for any and all "Gary as Doc" references, the posters, the theme being "dated", etc.
I'd love to see a new BTTF as much as my distant JeffCo neighbor, but let's not forget that Gary did it once already!

Unpopular opinion maybe, Stern Star Wars is the best of them all in my opinion (one I think if people don’t own and have at home, shouldn’t comment on it as you can’t appreciate it on site)
I agree with everything you said about Mando and Ep1, but if they can be so crap with all the assents, then how bad could it be WITHOUT them?
BTTF with no call outs and scenes from movies, without ALL the major songs from the movies, will end up becoming very unpopular. Though YES a custom code from someone may be able to savage it if it is a good game.
Sideshow collectibles Hot Toys, Lego, Playmobil, Funko POP, etc etc etc all know BTTF isn't dated as they all have released new figures, art, games, kits and toys recently. So much a part of pop culture that the Ready Player One book and movie featured the DeLorean time machine as the main character’s car. BTTF is as relevant as ever with tons of assets to pull from for a pin.
Quoted from Ballderdash:So much a part of pop culture that the Ready Player One book and movie featured the DeLorean time machine as the main character’s car.
AND, Ready Player One had the band Rush as a key plot element, including having the main character play the guitar solo from 2112 in a key scene in the book. Coincidence? I don't think so. That's enough for me. Full-on confirmation that BTTF is 100% the next Stern.
Quoted from aamauzy:I'd love to see a new BTTF as much as my distant JeffCo neighbor, but let's not forget that Gary did it once already!
Gary did Star Wars and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before as well.
Quoted from Hammerhead:Gary did Star Wars and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before as well.
And The Simpsons. Hmm ok - good point!

Are you saying the next pin is YES, the prog-rock band?! You heard it here first!
Quoted from Fezmid:Are you saying the next pin is YES, the prog-rock band?! You heard it here first!
YES!
Quoted from crujones4life:Loving all this BTTF talk. It will be a most magnificent day for pinball when Stern releases it.
Never give up !

If they could get Patrick Warburton doing the call outs that would be an amazing pin

Ohhh so what you're saying is that it will TOTALLY be on-brand when he re-does BTTF.
My god you used my own information to make me change my mind. BTTF is absolutely on the horizon, folks.
