If they are going to vault dot games they should at least colorize the dots.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:If they really do vault Simpsons it HAS to have LCD with stock footage and original animations.
I just bought a HUO perfect TSPP for $5100.
What are they gonna sell the vault for? Colored dots? I'm getting the color dmd.
I don't know how they make these VE's work. SM was a disaster.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:If they really do vault Simpsons it HAS to have LCD with stock footage and original animations.
100% its time to vault with lcds to today’s standards of animation.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:If they really do vault Simpsons it HAS to have LCD with stock footage and original animations.
Yes - vault LOTR movie clips (that would rock - not sure if they can swing license on that one though), Vault LCD movie - again rock...etc etc
Quoted from iceman44:If you don't put an LCD with video in a VE now then its DOA.
Don't waste your time Stern selling a few hundred of overpriced SM types.
SM is a great example. Horrible VE. Give me original, and now the LE is selling for less than the VE
Disagree on DMD
Spiderman sucks because of its sound
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:If they really do vault Simpsons it HAS to have LCD with stock footage and original animations.
TSPP & LOTR both have some of the best dots in pinball, the biggest improvement they could give to both of those games with a Vault Edition is modern quality sound and modern hi res art!

Yes if they wanted to improve on them and provide added value. I’d suggest the color dmd and shaker motor too. But another option is to keep things the same.

They could bring them back in the same condition and at the SAME price they were. TSPP was $3.5k when I bought mine in 2004. If Stern would bring back TSPPv and sell them for $4.8k, they could sell thousands. Vaults could be reissued for the purpose of selling more units to generate profit and suck money out of the market from those considering nib games.
The game costs Stern $2.5k on average to produce, per recently disclosed podcast speculation. Design of TSPP is 100% done so all that is needed is for Stern to renew license and order parts. Every TSPP made would add $2.3k to Stern’s bank account. How much do they want? Let’s say they decided to generate $2M profit. That’s as easy as making and selling 800 TSPPv. Who wouldn’t consider a Stern vault of their best titles, when remakes of the best B/W games are being offered by CGC? Consider it a license to print money.

I think they would need to improve aspects of the game if they wanted buyers, I certainly wouldn’t buy a VE of either if they where identical to the original releases. But improved sound and art that are up to modern standards I’d be very interested.
I also don’t think they have ever kept things the same have they, other than STVE?
Quoted from Sinestro:Just go "Duh-nuh. Duh-Nuh. Duh-Nun."
Everybody knows the music, shark, and name.
How about Baaabeeee shark do doo do do de doo do. Maaaama shark do doo do do de doo do...... now that’s a shark song.

Quoted from whitey:Next Title is Black Knight 3000 !!!!!!!
Yes it’s true !
I suspect that will be revealed in April.
Quoted from whitey:Next Title is Black Knight 3000 !!!!!!!
While that would not be an original, original title, Gary would propably be ok with it because of this and they let him have the license for a third one for free, so... I guess it's a high propability.
I think I'd prefer him to be even more free, since an upper playfield and magna save seems obligatory to the "license" and he would get backlash from pinside Folks if he'd not stick to this, but I don't think he cares for pinside anyways and just makes it a good game.
Quoted from whitey:Next Title is Black Knight 3000 !!!!!!!
Yes it’s true !
Will it have a better title than that?
What I mean is, will 3000 be in the name?
If so, what's the significance of 3000?

Black knights revenge
Black knight returns
Reign of the Black knight
Black knight (tis but a flash wound edition)
Tournament of the Black knight
Challenge of the black knight
Anything sounds better than black knight 3000. It sound like it's a cheesy knight in space/future theme.
I'd like to see a good space original theme or a movie I'm a big fan of. As long as they are done by the right people.

Black Knight, Sucka would be an attention-grabbing title and it'd feature a black black knight.
Blackest Knight
Black Knights <--- lots of possibilities when there are more than one of them
Night Knight <--- Kevin Hart SLE mandatory

Good Knight. The White Knight in shiny armor who saves the day. That, or I'm going to bed, Good Night!
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:Anything sounds better than black knight 3000. It sound like it's a cheesy knight in space/future theme.
Sure does!
Any title with 3000 in it will be really odd in the year 2019.
Another Black Knight would be great if they would do it right. I’m thinking BK 1 with more stuff on it and a deep Stern code. I loved the second PF of the first one. I did not like BK 2000 though. Some might like it a lot. Just give Steve the freedom to do the game right and not have Gary looking over his shoulder. And please, not another fan layout with 2 ramps both going to the return lanes. How about the upper PF plus a ramp or two as long as they do something besides return the mall to the flippers

SR said himself multiple times that this would be the beige Knight.

Good knight might be appropriate if it's Steve's last game, let's hope not!

Why? What did 2000 have to do with 1989?
I was playing junk yard recently. Could the time machine knight video mode dated 1999 have been a blacknight 3 idea?
Quoted from Sinestro:Why? What did 2000 have to do with 1989?
Black Knight 2000 sounded better than Black Knight 2.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:I was playing junk yard recently. Could the time machine knight video mode dated 1999 have been a blacknight 3 idea?
Black Knight:Time Tournament?
I'd be more excited about that concept than just a straight BK3K. Immense amount of interesting and fun possibilities.
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Black Knight 2000 sounded better than Black Knight 2.
Or
The white knight!
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:Black knights revenge
Black knight returns
Reign of the Black knight
Black knight (tis but a flash wound edition)
Tournament of the Black knight

None of those sounds as good as Black Knight 3000 to me. Besides, BK3K is the greatest acronym ever. One K better than BK2K.
Here is what I know: nothing.
But wouldn’t it be crazy if Stern ran a contest? Kind of like when a new sports team comes to town and fans vote on a name? I don’t know how it would logistically work, but people could pay(?) to vote on theme and art.....
(I know it sounds crazy)
Quoted from hollywood:people could pay(?) to vote on theme and art.....

Pay? PAY, to vote on a theme and art for a game they are going to PAY for.....
Alright, you go stand in the corner. We'll have none of that stuff here.
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Black Knight 2000 sounded better than Black Knight 2.
And 3000 sounds better than 3. So essentially, nothing to see here.
Quoted from Sinestro:And 3000 sounds better than 3. So essentially, nothing to see here.
Black Knight's Revenge sounds better for the 3rd game.
Quoted from PinballManiac40:Black Knight's Revenge sounds better for the 3rd game.
Nah. Black Knight Rises.
Black Knight 3000 ? Whatever ever they call it, upper Playfield? Magnets, if the money goes into the game instead of copyrights it could be a kickass game
I heard it’s meant for players !
I know Stern has pro , premium, LE
But this would be a perfect game to make one way only , all Black , mirror backglass. Keep the cost down and just build a great game
Quoted from arcademojo:Pay? PAY, to vote on a theme and art for a game they are going to PAY for.....

You’re right, that was stupid.
Never going to happen, but what if Stern made a generic Music pin. Had a jukebox similar to ACDC with a generic music theme (non band specific) and then allowed you to add what band(s) or songs you wanted to the jukebox. You could customize the translite with whatever band, group, rapper, or whatever you wanted. Might eliminate the "X band deserves a pin" argument.
