Metallica ran from 2012-2018. I got a NIB in 2018. There are too many out there to really justify another run imo. Trons are not plentiful so that makes more sense to me bit I don't think Stern need to bother with Vaults for a long time now.

Yeah, I think vaults are just done until Stern catches up to the point they have lulls in the line again, which will likely be years

If it was a different album art overall, knowing it won't be diff pf art, I'd be all take my money. Would go along with Met#199. PusHead art would be the best...

It was a travesty that Stern didn’t use Pushead art to begin with.

Pokémon would be the most sought after pin of all time. As long as it plays well any person of any age would love it. I never got into it until Pokémon Go came out. My son loved it so I started playing with him. For a couple years up until the pandemic we’d use the weekend to visit different parks, go on hikes and catch pokemons. It was a lot of quality time. If there were IC that had rare Pokémon in different locations like they did with Go. And every time you play you caught new Pokémon and were able to evolve it like in Go, then I could finally get my son into pinball and spend the weekends traveling around to different locations with him. It would be hard to license and tough to code IC, but that’s an op dream pin. And every year you could update code to a new generation of Pokémon like they did with Go. Also when I played Go, there were people of all ages walking around and catching them. Plus since it’s at locations, they could even crossover to put Go locations with special features like rare Pokémon nests where pins are which could drive an entirely new audience to the hobby and drive new people to locations with pins. I’d probably get hooked on Go again.

Yep, no way Stern vaults anything, unless they ordered the parts a year and a half ago, and they finally show up.

This whole Pokémon pinball machine back and forth makes me feel like Johnny Lawrence in Cobra Kai and people on here are the kids trying to tell me about the Internet. I see that pikachu and all I see is a little kids stuffed animal. Maybe it would be big with the under 40 crowd but to people who are not connected to its a child’s IP.

That is an interesting list - in scanning it I saw Sailor Moon. Something like this might be a good "cross over" between older pin buyers and younger combining a very popular manga with, well, good looking cartoon women...

I would love to see a Mafia-themed game (The Godfather comes to mind) where you start from the bottom as an associate etc... (small-time hood) and move your way up building your team collecting properties business weapons and of course fighting with the other families and enemies.

(So much content there).

Or perhaps even a Scarface pin would be an awesome adult-themed pin set in the ’80s at the highlight of the Miami nightclub culture.

Done right these themes would sell.

(No cartoony stuff, I know there is a Sopranos already).

Well, yeah any game that plays well will be liked. Saying it would be most desirable pin ever is a bit of a stretch. You honestly think grown middle age men would prefer Pokemon, a kids cartoon thing, over popular rock bands, popular 80's'/90's movies, and everything else???

We talk about how to get the younger generation into pinball all the time. This is how you do it. IPs that the dad band crowd doesn’t understand. It would kill on location and be a hit for insider connected if they have you collect Pokémon from all over. As long as the gameplay wasn’t Thunderbirds level, I’d buy one for sure. And I would still go play on location to collect other types of Pokémon. I’d wager that most people under 40 grew up playing Pokémon and a lot of the 30s crowd have kids that are into Pokémon now. It’s a no brainer from a license standpoint in my opinion.

Imagine using your phone to add Pokémon you caught in Go! to the pinball machine via insider connected. Now imagine exclusive Pokémon in the pinball machine that you could bring into Go!

This feature alone would selling 50k machines. I’m not even joking.

All the old farts here have no clue how huge this franchise is with the >40 crowd.

Pokémon Go! Has made over 5 billion dollars alone. One game.

Pokémon is essentially most 90s kids first rpg, and the possibilities for pinball are masssive. Imagine a ceramic powerball style master ball for the game, where it’s a guaranteed catch and travels through magnetic barriers like twilight zone. Roaming shots a la Jurassic Park to catch Pokémon. Custom etched poke balls. This shit would print money.

I would buy them all except for killer clowns, lol

Maybe there needs to be a Pokémon thread for Pokémon people and another one for 80’s kids…..

Stern Pinball will do what they want. Just because there's a backlog of current production games, doesn't mean that they won't throw a Vault in there. This would be like saying Stern won't release a new title because they have a backlog of orders.

The idea is that Vault editions are really just a good way to keep the assembly line moving when things are slow. Things aren't slow right now, so that's why a lot of people think Vaults won't be happening right now.
