Quoted from Budman:

I think it has to be Connery. He is quintessential cool and the 60’s vibe is more fun. Craig is too much of a hard ass, Moore and Brosnon over the years, now seem to lean metro sexual.

Yes, I would take Connery too

Pretty much the same as the Wurlitzer except it has proper chrome (not plastic)

Looks great and definitely high on my want list just not sure where to start.

Quoted from jawjaw:

Bond doesn't appeal to me either. Mostly because there are so many movies and Bond played by a variety of different actors. I just see Stern coming up with generic Bond character and villains to avoid extra licensing costs.

Williams made use of many actors who portrayed Dr. Who on their namesake table. Stern could probably do the same for Bond.

Yes, just seen it, expensive too, built to order. Not many people in the world will have one of those, guaranteed.

If the rumour is true about an Aston Martin mech it won’t be Moore, his bond never drove or featured an Aston Martin.

Likely will be Craig as that is what EON and Sony are pushing hard at the moment until they find their next bond they will milk Craigs bond.

Much more likely to be Connery. He drove an Aston Martin.

Quoted from PinMonk:

Well Connery, Lazenby, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig all drove Astons.

If there’s an Aston Mech it’s got to be the DB5! Headlights drop down and pinballs come out instead of machine guns

In which case that narrows it down slightly, as I can’t see it being Brosnan as we already have Goldeneye so that potentially rules him out.

Dalton didn’t drive a DB5 from memory, his Aston of choice was the new V8 Volante, no time to die pays homage to it too.

Lazenby drove a DBS and there’s no way they would do Lazenby on his own surely?

Craig has driven a DB5 in more Bond films than every other Bond, pretty sure it’s just QoS he was exclusively in a DBS.

Leaving Connery who drove a DB5 in Goldfinger (which everyone remembers) and Thunderball. Although some Bond trivia the stunt car was actually a DB4.

Would be amazing to have all Bonds featured like Dr Who but it would bug me having Moore in it if the gameplay centered around an Aston Martin. But I think it’s going to be Craig as EON want to get every penny out of Craig until they announce the next Bond!… Henry Cavil please!

Bond geek rant over!

I’m a betting man.
So… if I was asked to put money down rather than just guestimate?

-The guys at Stern seem to like Nostalgia
-Slot machines doing Connery Kapow license
-Franchi doing art already on Connery
-DB5 Aston Mech apparently reported

Money is on Connery

Also slots running Craigs Bond, no idea if they are related to Kapow. And has Franchi been linked to Stern again? Most recently he was rumoured to be working with CGC on their licensed non remake.

Has to be Connery or Craig, either is a winner, Craig has the better assets for pinball though.

I could be wrong, but I heard Franchi was back at Stern. I’m sure the more informed guys here will know better?

If it is Craig, I hope it’s just based on Casino Royale (awesome) as I’m afraid I really don’t like the other movies.
Not his fault, just not a fan of the other productions.

#24415 2 years ago
Quoted from Sako-TRG:

-Slot machines doing Connery Kapow license

Four Bonds are represented in the slot license, based on released machines so far:
Roger Moore has one
Daniel Craig has one
Brosnan has two
Connery has three

Lazenby, Dalton, and...Niven are shut out.

Connery
Goldfinger
Diamonds are Forever
Thunderball

Moore
Live and Let Die

Brosnan
Tomorrow Never Dies
Die another day

Craig
Casino Royale

So to capture the most audience, it's either just Connery or all of them. It'd be easiest to theme a Connery Bond alone since the Roger Moore ones got really wacky.

#24416 2 years ago

If I had my way I would do it like the Alien Pinball or Star Wars (stern) games do it. Once you start your game, pick your Bond and then you get access to their individual modes along with some shared modes.

#24417 2 years ago

Roger Moore drove a Aston Martin DB5 but it wasn’t in a Bond movie.

Quoted from Sako-TRG:

Agree, Max Zorin is my favourite all time Bond Villain in A View to a Kill.

A view to a kill and Live and let die were awesome Bonds IMO. Walken as Max Zorin and Yaphet Kotto as Kananga/Mr Big were great villains. Plus both had good bond songs. A view to a kill is mine and my Mrs favourite Bond. Bit cringe as Roger was pushing 60 and slept with a record 4 women, but great Bond with an awesome villain.
1) I’d love to see the rumoured DB5 as a VUK ejector seat (cue Goldfinger clip)
2) A diagonal laser captive ball stack like Williams Indiana Jones (cue Goldfinger clip again)
3) A rail that diverts or passes through Jaws mouth. Complete his metal grin by locking 3 balls (cue Moonraker cable bite clip/The Spy Who Loved Me smile clip)

No reason Franchi couldn't do a contract job on a Kapow title without being "back at Stern". I think I heard one podcast, maybe it was a Gomez quote (?) mentioning something about contracting in reference to Franchi. I could be misremembering though...

How about if 4 or 6 or more Bonds are featured in the pin, and the player chooses which Bond to play as at the start of the game, and then progresses through the game to play as more Bonds (think of Dr Who)? Each Bond would have a special strength and/or gadget or weapon. That would be cool.

Connery model features a woman bash toy?
I love Bond and agree Connery was the best but he unfortunately alienated many with his personal views.
Many Bonds, modern Bond or a generic Bond world theme maybe but I don't see a Connery exclusive theme being as marketable.

I think he alienated a few people looking to get mad at something from 60 years ago.

34yrs but the point was pinball is already a pretty male-sentric hobby. Old men at that. Those "few people" (women) are half the world man. Connery also hasn't made movie in over dozen years. Young people have no clue who he is.

My point is he made approximately 20 movies between 1987 and his death. A lot of those films were huge hits. I don’t think people were as offended as you think.

Young people (sub 30) aren’t generally in the pinball market either.

Why would it never be made? Would have thought the Sandman would have a few pins in his house along with his guitars. He had one in Big Daddy as I recall

With 100% certainty Bond will feature one of the actors who’s surname starts with C

If Bond is a Gomez game, with Kapow then I have a tough choice between this and Elvira HOH…

And if a BTTF is then announced.. I’m going to have to sell a kidney

I’m pondering how much I’d be prepared to pay for a Bond SLE.
Mrs gave me the green light in principle. She has absolutely no idea on the cost though…lol.
Crazy times, getting tougher out there, I certainly need to have a think about expenditures with cost of living increases etc…

Never said I didn't like Connery Bond or anything. I'm speaking from a marketing stand point. Nobody under 40 would care about the game and many (more than usual at least lol) women would decide to take a pass on a game with the man's mug on it. Sorry you don't see bigger pictures in your hobby bubble :p

I'm 32 and think Connery is the best Bond and very much care about the rumored pin. I have multiple friends who agree with me. My wife also loves the old Bond movies and couldn't care less what Connery said in 1987. She just knows that he is the original Bond.

I would bet decent money that the vast majority of the people (male or female) that are in the buying market for a Bond pin could care less what Connery said in 1987. I think a Connery centric pin would sell extremely well.

Are you in marketing? This notion that women would pass on this title because it would have a mans face on it is nonsense.

1) Slash was arrested for domestic violence 1999. Billy Dee Williams was arrested for battery also in 1999. I don’t see GNR or Star Wars/Mando having marketability issues.
I don’t agree with domestic violence in any way. In fact I think men who raise their hands against women are cowardly scum!
However the man said something a little stupid 35 years ago, let’s not get carried away.
Having said that everyone here is welcome to give me their GNR’s, Star Wars or Mando’s if they’re outraged enough by this news.
Pretty sure there’s also been accusations/charges against Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes and Edward Furlong so I’ll also accept your Mavericks, Lethal Weapon 3’s, Demolition Men and T2’s… worth a try! Haha

I am 36 and Love James Bond the character. There is a reason he is the longest running franchise in movie history. As if every time a Bond movie came out, only men went and saw it. Women love a cunning, charming, and independent man.... In other words, Bond can appeal to everyone. No one ever claimed Bond was a moral role-model. lol
