No Rush news at all...not even a teaser. LAME

Very disappointed if they don't at least tease something today.

Quoted from Lounge:

Nobody knew who Dave Ghrol was when he was in Nirvana. I’ve always liked the Foo Fighters and no matter what your take on them is, Dave Ghrol is a very talented musician. I strongly believe he would be successful regardless of Nirvana. I was never a Nirvana fan (and I’m still not).
As for a Foo Fighters pin, I can’t really see it. All the band pins lately have been get the band together, go on tour - meh.

You're kidding, right? Nirvana was one of the biggest bands in history. Dave Ghrol and Krist Novoselic were household names. Foo Fighters were strongly branded as having a previous member of Nirvana.

Ironic phrase (unless you were in a frat-house I suppose). They were a big deal while I was in college, no question… and then they just weren’t. I really enjoyed them for about 4 years - and now looking back, I can’t really figure out what all the fuss was about.

They were one of the top 5 ‘grunge’ bands to come out of Seattle at the time… but as near as I can tell, thats about it.

Gameshow Pin…. Price Is Right or Survivor… or Lego Batman with Will Arnett. Something different would be great.

Foo fighters has a lot of B grade hits. A lot. And I really like foo fighters. Nickleback had a lot of B grade hits too. Should they get a pin?

The gameplay on Pokémon would be so satisfying. Catching and battling trainers. Pokeball pinballs, evolving what’s been caught etc. could go deeeep. Big nerd here.. sorry

Pokémon would be a huge hit. The gameplay would make for some epic code…

I totally agree. I was too old for Pokémon but I get how this would make a terrific pin. My son is into it. I bet it would rake in the dough on location

I think the hardest part would be deciding what to leave out of it. Or maybe Stern can keep the the tradition/money printer going and release 2 versions with different playfields. And a third version a year later with the best of both.

Nirvana is one of the best-selling bands of all time, having sold more than 75 million records.[138] With more than 28 million RIAA-certified units, Nirvana is also one of the best-selling music artists in the United States.[139] They have achieved ten top 40 hits on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, including five number-ones.[112] Two of their studio albums and two of their live albums have reached the top spot on the Billboard 200.[140] Nirvana has been awarded one diamond, three multiplatinum, seven platinum and two gold-certified albums in the United States by the RIAA,[141] and four multiplatinum, four platinum, two gold and one silver-certified albums in the UK by the BPI.[142] Nevermind, their most successful album, has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums ever.[143] Their most successful song, "Smells Like Teen Spirit", is among the best-selling singles of all time, having sold 8 million copies.

Nirvana made Foo Fighters. There's just no question about it. Foo's songs are mediocre at best.

Every time I read another pokemon post I'm amazed that this apparently is so popular, I have never seen it and only know it as a game for kids, I guess it's also popular among grown men playing pinball

I like music from the Foo Fighters, but it would definitely not be an instabuy, Iron Maiden on the other hand was. A lot of people here mention they don't want to see anymore band pins because the songs get annoying, I must say I rather hear good songs while playing pinball then some random callout that gets lame really fast (there are exceptions), but of course if the music is really not up your alley...
I think the band should at least have some clearly identifiable things that could make it into the pin, like the cannons and bell in AC/DC, the Eddies (and all the art for that matter) in Iron Maiden, sparky, the cross and the snake in Metallica etc, I wonder what that could be for the Foo Fighters?

<yawn>

Somebody sold a bunch of albums to a bunch of people at a certain moment in time. And when was the last time you popped in one of their 3 albums to listen to? My entire point - who cares?

I have zero opinion about FF. I guess they make okay pop music.

Oh, BTW, can you please tell Borg to rip off the shroud on his next one? The suspense is killing (some) of us!

I've got some news for you, fans of Pokémon would love to be hearing the various themes while they play. They are catchy af. I haven't played a Pokémon game since the 90's but I still find myself humming some of the tunes. Pokémon (like RPGs) requires dozens of hours to complete. The songs are permanently etched in my brain. Same way people feel about Zelda ost.
Im a big Iron Maiden fan (caught a drum stick in 2019) and tbh the idea of a Maiden pinball machine wasn't high on my list but Pokémon just makes sense from the get go.

Quoted from Tranquilize:

I guess it depends on how you define mediocrity...

Over the course of their career, Foo Fighters have won 12 Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album four times. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, their first year of eligibility.

It wasn't really meant for a possible pokemon game but more in general, I do not like the AIQ callouts at all (the only nice sound out of it is the hulk hurryup, for the rest it is better to just mute it all together), neither EHOH, DP on the other hand is great.
I just meant I rather hear some music while playing then someone talking, that said, Metallica has great music (never gets old) and the callouts are also great, but I guess that costs money, so in the later pins like Aerosmith they used the silly voice from sparky, it's a shame because Steven Tylers voice would have been great to do callouts. I also don't like the voices and sounds in the GZ pin, but it looked so amazing that I just had to get it (still not received though )

Asked my 5 year old son last night if he would rather have a Toy Story or a BTTF. He said he wants a BTTF. It's a sign

Quoted from Pinchild:

For sure! Sonic is as relevant to "ball go fast" as Pokemon. Let's get a Green Hill Zone loop in there! (powered by electromagnets like Getaway)

#24087 2 years ago

If I’m looking at 10k for a pro by the time Stern gets around to making a BTTF, we need the assets.
No “extended theme” stuff with logos everywhere featuring callouts from “Einstein”.
