That is the age group range of whom would buy a new BTTF.

I didnt say the game wouldnt be good, I said 40 and 50 year old men won't buy the theme. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

For the kids/grandkids though. Probably not as the only pin in the collection and I'm not an op, but I feel Pokemon would be a huge seller, especially now with the Stern interaction.

Quoted from chad:

Would Kapow work with other companies to get major titles out? Or are they strictly working with Stern as Joe and Gary are good friends?

Gary's best friend is money.

Hasn’t the rumour that Joe & CGC have been talking for a while just been made public by Kaneda? Didn’t Franchi allude to this like a year ago on his podcast.

Our local barcade is heavily 20-somethings into 30s. Pokemon would do well there, as well as other video game themes. But I have a hunch Stern's priority isn't ops anymore. Also someone said the new Stern Prez comes from Disney? He could be the champion we need to seal deals for more obscure fan favorites like Futurama. Can we be done with Marvel and Star Wars for awhile?

Pokémon comes with some great game code already. Would carry over to pinball real well. Collecting, building up energy, and evolving. Gotta catch em all!

Good point on the ops and if Stern really cares as much about them.

It would be really cool to hit visit arcades and play different Pokemons or something.

GOONIES could be a POTC style pin for Stern. One eye Willy ship in the back of the playfield. Lots of call outs and plenty to make this a great pinball adventure.

I've never owned a music pin. I feel like they are a little one dimensional. There's a bunch of great pins, but same songs over and over. I like playing them more on location versus bringing one home. No interest in Rush. Honestly not interested in ANY music pin though. My guess is Rush will be Zepp 2.0. Hope not for the Rush fans, but good news is you'll be distracted fighting over Rush LEs and dump your Zilla premium to me.

Yeah, cause AC/DC and Metallica are such terrible pins...

I actually find the Godzilla theme song gets old pretty quickly, but it's still an awesome game.

If Rush is anywhere as good as Zep premium/LE, I'll have to sell something to get one!

#23673 2 years ago

No interest in Rush theme, but if it had been a Brian Eddy design and had a stage raise from center of playfield and then used the projector mapping technology out of STh, it might have been a super interesting pin.

I know it will never happen for whatever licensing reason but “GUITAR HERO 3” was the ultimate music game. I’m 35 and I think what they brought into that game was amazing. The story and everything. if you never played it Google it. You are a up and coming band. As you progress through your career you pick up new songs which are obviously the best rock songs ever. Don’t bash me.

JJP just released that the end of 2020. I think it even won game of the year for some dam reason

#23683 2 years ago

I'm pumped for the Rush reveal. I really think it could be something special if they choose the right songs and go with a fantasy/ Sci fi theme. 2112 is incredible. Spirit of the Radio has to be in there too. I hope the songs don't restart with each ball ala AC/DC...

I disagree on that. I think we all have that best friend called money, but to be in the pinball bussiness as long as Stern needs to have a great amount of commitment and passion to it. I honestly think Gary is enjoying his company and all around it, so are most of his employees.

I surely hope he makes a good amount of money from it. We are all enjoying their labor of love and passion.

I would like to see a music pin with music from a lot of different bands .
You could pick whatever music genre you want or whatever concert event .
One I think that would work would be a
Woodstock pin .
I can't see it costing a fortune to get 20 songs , compared to Disney / Marvel titles .

Do you say you hope Rush is as good as Zeppelin? Did I miss something? Did something come out of the middle of your game other than a spinner? Music is good, but we barely finished our first game. Never looked back. Met/GOTG is a fun game. ACDC is another band I really enjoy, but again.. won't be buying the pin. Screaminr nailed it. Multiple bands in one game.. nice mix of songs. I'm in. The Cleland sound mod for GOTG was excellent, just didn't get played enough. Sounds like 2022 should have some interesting announcements, I just hope that after the Rush fans will the pin into existence it is everything they hoped for. It will suck for me if the play and layout is awesome because I can't buy a game that I dont enjoy the theme at least at little.

I agree Led Zeppelin is a bit disappointing. I'm hoping for more Iron Maiden like game play in this pin.

Bah. A theme is just window dressing.

I would usually agree but there are a few particularly off-putting themes to people.
I think Maiden is a great example of a game that is freaking amazing but suffers due to the theme. I personally love Maiden as a band as well so dream game for me but I know lots of people complain that it should have been Archer or anything but Maiden. I also personally can't stand Aerosmith (the band) so I never really give that game a fair chance.

It would be cool if you had a music themed pin, like Rock Band or Guitar Hero, and to get around licensing, you could connect your phone or laptop and add songs from your playlist, so you could make the pin any type of music you want, and could change it every game to whatever you're vibing on.

Funny thing is, I'm totally NOT an Iron Maiden fan, yet I love the theme on this game. To me, it's not really a band pin. It's more like "Time Travelling Zombie Adventure". LOVE that they went with all the different Eddies for the modes and artwork.

If they would have done the traditional "collect the albums / go on tour / band members faces plastered all over the place" route, I don't think I'd own one...

Later,

Though, as a big fan of Iron Maiden, I would say that is most true to who they are (as a band). They have always been a storytelling band, and the various incarnations of Eddie in different settings is the constant through all the tales.

I've never been able to understand why anyone who claims to be passionate about music could dislike Rush? Within Rush you have the best drummer in the world. You have one of the best bassist in the world and a phenomenal guitarist. All of there songs are either uplifting or deeply thought provoking, or both. The music that these 3 people create is top tier music for music enthusiasts. I understand people have different tastes in music and different genres appeal more to some than others. But if you appreciate music at all there is no way Rush can be denied as great music. You may enjoy something heavier. Something more country. Something more pop. But there is no denying Rush makes great music! Rush has a huge catalog of music and a huge following of avid fans. Rush absolutely deserve to be immortalized on a pinball machine.
Thanks for listening
Brandon

Wish I could be excited by a Music pin from Stern. Last couple been major disappointments.

Stern butchered: Heavy Metal, Primus, Led Zep, Aerosmith and Rolling stones

With exceptions of:
Iron Maiden and Metallica

Honorable efforts
ACDC and Beatles

How is Rush going to be any better. They are going to have to do some serious next level code and toys.
Sterns just not batting at 100% on these.

I love rush but after Led Zeppelin just not clamoring for more of the same. It better be GNR x 2 on design
and code. Especially with pinflation.

Also a Vault release in 2022? Any guess - I'd Say MET or Tron

Bring Back Dirty Donny for something Cool..
