Quoted from BasementFacts:

If it's the live action license and not the original animation I will 100% believe I'm living in a simulation. Suicide watch if Stern's "artists" attempt custom animation.

I agree. I would assume it would be the animated (cheaper). But could be great

Quoted from Roostking:

Unless I strike It rich, I won't be buying a NIB again. I FOMOd on Halloween and quite frankly it's silly telling(when they ask) people I spent 10gs on a toy lol. Hell, that might be cheap compared to the next price hike.

Problem is even used newer pins are going for new prices - if you can find one.

#23203 2 years ago

I know this thread is for Stern but any clue if JJP will announce new game this year? Toy Story?

#23204 2 years ago

Even at the current prices, pins are the best deal in the large toy department.

Try selling a boat you bought new for anything near what you paid!

I hadn’t thought of that. good point.

#23206 2 years ago

Agreed with DanQverymuch For all my toys, I self rationalize as what I pay is the difference between what I buy something for and what I can reasonably sell it for later when it is time for a new toy. For high end audio equipment, art, and pinballs, this is a very easy call (too easy according to the civilians in the house

Whack of new codes on the Stern site to support the insider program.
Noticed Iron Maiden Pro introduces a pay to play dlc Madness mode....yuck

Pins holding value is key - if resale ever fell off dramatically that would be an issue!

What do you mean pay to play? Inside connected attachment?

What was the reason that wasn't in Pro already? It was in Prem/LE for years?

Agree! Munsters LE was $9k.... then Batman 66 and JP Prem... I am done all under $10k....

#23212 2 years ago

I have a request for 2023.

Please make an updated Indiana Jones Adventures pin when IJ5 releases. Give the licence to Elwin & let him go crazy with the design & features. Let's see Zombie Yeti's take on IJ artwork. Cherry pick the best adventures from IJ movies & books to make a unique adventure. Similar to how they handled the JP licence. Animate the LCD screen & get a Ford voice actor. Total freedom & not tied down by movie clips.

WMS IJ is still very popular & sells for a ridiculous amount of money now. I certainly don't feel like overpaying for one, but I'm pretty sure people will spend money on another attempt at this licence. Especially if Elwin takes a crack at it. Plus they have a good relationship with Disney, so I'd say this is a pretty likely option in a few years.

Quoted from gblack:

My assumption was always that since the pro is already such a solid machine, Stern wanted to add more premium exclusive features. Sarcophagus lock, Newton orb and Ramp flap/Underworld scoop aren't a lot added for the price jump from pro to premium. An exclusive mode was just another premium selling point. Iron Maiden run is all but done (at least spoken for) so Stern seems to have figured they might as well use that mode as a selling point again. This time as incentive for pro owners to buy the Insider kit.

I sold my 2008 boat last spring for 20k more than i bought it for 4 years ago.

Cool story bro. Good for you. Is that the new normal for boats, or an outlier? Run of the mill boat, or something hard to find and desirable? I notice you didn't buy it new, so I presume you didn't pay the original price. As such, I don't see how it pertains to my assertion.

You must be talking about some stratospheric high end audio equipment if you're holding on to any value. I've got about $40k into my home theater, if I had to sell that stuff I'd be happy to get back half of it. Last thing I sold was a projector for $900 that I paid $5,000 for and it was maybe five years old. Heck, I've got a B&K amplifier and a Lexicon pre-amp boxed up in my garage, close to $10k worth of gear that's not even worth the trouble of trying to sell.

The proper response would have been, "OK so boats may have been a bad example but you get the point"
I don't think your pissy attitude was warranted here.

Anyone notice on the Godzilla Premium pin there's a hidden Keith Elwin cartoon character in the artwork?

I guess no rumors on differences between models? Hoping I can find a premium. Lots of games to trade if worse comes to worse.

Celebrated 50 during the Sturgis Rally this year; not feeling old! If you were at Buffalo Chip, you’d understand. This “old” man can’t wait for the BTTF release on my 51st in 2022.

I don’t want to get too ahead of the horse here but I looked really hard at the Stern photos from today’s FB post. The line is working on the Mandalorian but the last cart has a different game on it. I went through most of their games and couldn’t find a playfield with that art at the flippers. Any thoughts?
