I stand corrected! Iron Maiden is no RHCP!
Quoted from greenstreet:Everyone has their favorites and I respect IM is one of yours. Great band to be sure and an even better pin imo. And top 100 lists are heavily biased by their composer but look at this one from Business Insider:

Lets be clear, you have your IM pin. The point was Elwin wants to make a pin from his era. What are the choices? In the top 20 of that list we have Linkin Park, Nirvana, U2, Maroon 5 and RHCP... I mean, Nirvana and U2 are great bands but wouldn't make good pins. The only one of those I'd buy is RHCP.
Plus who's in for a Mezel Mods Shooter Rod Sock cover...
If Stern wants to do a 90’s music pin it should be hip hop related. Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, Tribe Called Quest etc etc.

Linkin Park? Maroon 5? Exactly how old do you think Keith Elwin is? 28?
I think Beastie Boys would be a really good move for Stern. They bridge the hip hop, rock genres well.
Personally, based on the link you provided, i know where my money would go
Screenshot_20210210-164524_Google (resized).jpgKeith’s pin after Godzilla will be based on music of the best band to never have a pin made - Black Sabbath. Let’s face it, when Rolling Stone mag refers to your group as the Beatles of Heavy Metal, you have made it. And that means time for a pinball machine tribute. In fact, it is past time so get busy Keith.

LE insta buy if true !
Quoted from Raiders36:SInce I really want a PJ game. This would be a instant buy for me as well.

Yeah, you could lock a ball in the bus (Super LE only) and then the game shuts off. Great idea!

Not only are those horrible choices, band members of Linkin Park and Maroon 5 are in their 40s.
Beastie Boys would be amazing. Great videos to use too.
Only so many times where we can "assemble band members" to start a mode, tour, multi ball, etc.
I'd be in on Sabbath though. That'd be a great dark theme and different than "play a concert".
Quoted from Guinnesstime:Not only are those horrible choices, band members of Linkin Park and Maroon 5 are in their 40s.

Is Linkin Park in their 40s a plus or negative from you? Because I’m pretty sure the beastie boys are now in their mid to late 50s.
Quoted from J85M:Is Linkin Park in their 40s a plus or negative from you? Because I’m pretty sure the beastie boys are now in their mid to late 50s.
I'm just saying that I'm not sure a 28 year old would listen to Linkin Park. Probably Imagine Dragons or Fall Out Boy. I listen to none of those.
Quoted from Guinnesstime:I'd be in on Sabbath though. That'd be a great dark theme and different than "play a concert".
Yeah, Black Sabbath's storylike lyrics lend themselves well to more creative modes than pick-a-song, maybe something along the same lines as Iron Maiden.
I don't really have space for multiple machines, but Sabbath would be the single theme that could force me to either make space or loosen my death grip on my Deadpool...if it's not cut-and-pasted album art slapped onto a lazy layout.
Quoted from PinSinner:I wouldn’t be surprised if the cash in on The Mandalorian

Well they just fired Carano so that'll throw a hydrospanner into the old hyperdrive.

Star Wars is officially dead. RIP. I was there since 1977. Was a fun ride.
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:Star Wars is officially dead. RIP. I was there since 1977. Was a fun ride.
Huh? Why? Because Carano is no longer on the Mandalorian? Your loss.
Quoted from Prince66cali:80s cartoon voltron would be awesome.
Not happening anytime soon. The Japanese/Western licensing for Voltron is a mess due to contract errors by the Japanese side in the original license a long time ago.
Quoted from Prince66cali:Or Goonies
Deeproot hints at having that license. Are you saying that you want Stern to make that title?
Quoted from Flaverflav:What about a pinky blinders pin
Love me some Peaky Blinders. Don’t know how it would translate to a pin.
Goonies never say die! Oh brother, I have no interest in playing one and really don’t want to look at it. Terrible theme, but if it happens, we’ll judge how good it is then. I don’t think it would sell squat. Well maybe 500 units. The target audience of the movie is 13-17 year olds (primarily boys), right? I’m content waiting for whatever pin follows that.
So themes like iron maiden, batman 66, elvira, and led zepplin are better? What is stern s target age anyway?? 60+
Quoted from mostater:Huh? Why? Because Carano is no longer on the Mandalorian? Your loss.
No because the sequels sucked and yes they got rid of a great character and actress. If you like the Disney crap more power to you. Now that baby Yoda is gone, the only other character that was worth a damn was Carano. If they want to make it a woke POS more power to them.
Quoted from Prince66cali:So themes like iron maiden, batman 66, elvira, and led zepplin are better? What is stern s target age anyway?? 60+
I just turned 50 and like all of those and people in there 40’s like it amd so do my kids, so more like 40’s is the target young man. Now get off of my lawn!
Quoted from Prince66cali:So themes like iron maiden, batman 66, elvira, and led zepplin are better? What is stern s target age anyway?? 60+
Id say the target of those interested in playing a Stern pinball is 20-60 year olds. Sure there are younger and older folks who play Stern’s, but they are fewer.
The target head-of-household buying a Stern pinball is 35-65 yo’s. Likewise younger and older folks buy Stern’s, just not as many.
If we believe Stern makes 20k pins a year and we know these are sold through distributors, then look at the customer base of the Big10 US Distributors. I’d say it was 35-65 yo’s and bingo, we see the match. Stern game sales rely primarily on final end sales to 35-65 year olds. We conclude, this is their target audience.

I'm sure Disney will be crying at the loss of your viewership.
Normally i'd say a TV series that is mid-run is not going to produce a great theme because you are missing the story. (Game of Thrones, Stranger Things)
But oddly, Season 1 and 2 (Mandolorian) wrap up into such a nice little story it would be perfect for a game.
You guys are really hung up on band-oriented pins..
What about something else pop-culture oriented?
Say.... a Dungeons and Dragon's pin?
D&D or Magic the gathering would be awesome. I’d also love a Legend of Zelda pin based off of the first two nes games.
Quoted from Stormfront:You guys are really hung up on band-oriented pins..

I know there was a tepid effort at a Cthulthu mythos pin (http://prometheangamesinc.com/wrath-of-cthulhu) maybe something is still happening there....
I'd like to see something along these lines. Could be a board game tie-in with Arkham Horror. Not sure if it is up Stern's alley though.
Quoted from WGPE:You just can’t beat a punk shilling for Disney in a pinball forum.
I was speaking out against nazi apologists.... don't really know how that is shilling for Disney.
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:If we believe Stern makes 20k pins a year
This seems unrealistically high.
There are 261 weekdays in a year. Take out 21 to account for 21 days of holiday period and that leaves an even 240 working weekdays. Stern builds 50-70 pins a day. It was less during COVID until they got the line figured out, but they're back around 50 from what I've heard.
If you take 50/day as a consistent average, that's 12k pins a year. 60 would be 14.4k pins a year. Balls to the wall 70/day would be 16.8k a year. 20k isn't happening unless there's weekend work.
Quoted from PinMonk:If you take 50/day as a consistent average, that's 12k pins a year.
Thanks for the math, that's actually really cool to have a rough idea of what is entering the global market every year.
Quoted from SLCpunk2113:I thought Stern made 100 a day at full steam.
I have not heard that. Maybe possible, I dunno. But 100/day is one pin every ~5 minutes. 50/day is one every ~10 minutes, and THAT seems like a lot.
It’s fun to guess but the honest ones are usually the same old Jaws,Godzilla ,Bttf etc.One I havnt seen brought up is Clash of the Titans .Has everything needed for theme orientation .Wouldn’t have to be the movie license I’d actually prefer a comic type general story version myself .My top picks outta left field would be Troy ,Motley Crue,Blues Brothers but that just popped in my head n felt it has been neglected in discussions .So bring on Welk I guess
