Wacky races, Underdog, land of the lost.

#13202 3 years ago
Quoted from Pittsburghpins:

They should do first title only, Sorcerers Stone. Go with the movie poster for the back glass. Give it a Lord of the Rings look.
Hit start...
“You’re a wizard Harry”
[quoted image]

It was only called Sorcerers Stone in the USA. The rest of the world got the real title, Philosopher's Stone. Apparently, the publisher didn't think American readers would read it otherwise. Man, you guys really must have pissed off Scholastic.

If Stern does do HP, I can already see mods to correct the title being made.

#13203 3 years ago

Who is up next...is it Brian Eddy?

#13204 3 years ago

I agree with what others are sayong about HP based on the books and leave the photorealistic artwork out of it. Though John Williams would be pretty important. For the 7 modes, would be cool for it to be darker and about destroying the 7 Horcruxes, all leading up to a final battle. You'd even have to kill HP I guess!

Throwing this out there. I’m friends with Maynard Keenan. He’s played my lineup at my house. What if. And this is a big what if. A Tool pinball machine? Of all the games he’s played here. Stern is what gets him excited. A stern Tool Pin 2022?

I’d be into it.

How am i supposed to play pinball while facing the other way though?

#13210 3 years ago

Anyone see the stern trailer of sam neill from jurassic park holding door against pee wee Herman? I hope that means they are keeping him out of pinball

That would be a good game to use the Stranger things projector

I know there is at least one person on this thread who has appeared on Tool Time.

#13216 3 years ago

Sandlot piball its the beast

#13217 3 years ago
Quoted from TronGuy:

Wacky races, Underdog

Both these themes would sell boat loads of machines. There would be tons of cool toys that could be made for Underdog and Wacky Races as well. They both would bridge all age groups, along with Jonny Quest.

I think that if you are going to go for old-school cartoons... you really need to do the king of them all and do a Scooby-Doo pin. Scooby-Doo is so ingrained in our culture it's going to be a huge sell across many different groups of people.

This is one of the only music pins i am interested in and one that i would buy nib.

#13222 3 years ago

Scooby Doo, very into it. Perfect for pinball. Covers buyers born in the 60’s through the 2000’s. Would be a massive title.

+1 Definitely better than some cartoon of 70's/80's(or repeated 60's) era I watched as a kid but no one gives a stuff about these days including me. If you're going to go back to the old school Hanna-Barbera cartoons, Scooby Doo is definitely the one that's still relevant today.

I think that is honestly the worst idea I've read in this thread. That's a massive accomplishment, considering some of the crazy shit that's been proposed.

I still can't believe there hasn't been a Stern pin. Use roadshow format tracing his career. There's SO MUCH great audio from the wack pack (eric the midget, gary the retard/conquerer, wendy, beetlejuice, hank the angry dwarf, elegant elliot offen, crazy/angry alice, sour shoes, high pitch eric (and the new low pitch version), hanzi, the list goes on and on and on...) and a very solid staff - it could be an awesome pin as long as Jackie callouts are limited to 3.

Also, Matthew Lillard or classic Casey, not Will Forte

#13229 3 years ago

The only cartoon pin a 62 year old man like me could buy and not be scorned by my older friends and family would be Jonny Quest. Plus, JQ music is much better suited to the fast action of pinball. Admittedly, Scoob probably appeals to more kids / younger families as you still see those toys in stores.

#13230 3 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

They're not doing two music pins in row. Next up is probably Lyman's pin, or maybe whatever Tanio's been working on when not helping out on other designer's projects. I can't imagine them unleashing the LotR Spike release when they're already behind on orders. That would bury them.

Tanio is a software guy, not a designer. But I would imagine we’d see another Tanio coded game at some point soon.

Hoping next title is Godzilla - the big toe ho.

Ok, explicitly then - Gomez/Tanio machine.

I never thought I'd be looking forward to a Gomez design, but Deadpool was just that good once the software was worked out.

I was in the Johnny Quest club in collage. 40 of us would go to the SU every weekday and drink at 3:30PM and watch JQ.
unlikely made into a pin, but count me in.

Meh. Keep your loonies and your toonies. No way Stern advertises “Philosopher’s Stone” to the US market.

Merica!

I’d like to see another GG game too. I doubt it as Deadpool was an exception since they scrapped JTs design and needed help in a pinch.

The next GG design will be LOTR Vault.

#13238 3 years ago

Well if Thundercats is an option I would like Voltron!

#13239 3 years ago
Quoted from kermit24:

The next GG design will be LOTR Vault.

Which is ironic given that Deadpool's katana is a progression of LotR's sword. Gomez went back to the future on that one.

I like it . Not even hints this time.

#13243 3 years ago

Whatever it is, I hope I have no interest. My wallet needs a breather.

#13244 3 years ago

So Godzilla it is? OR it ISN’T?

So much for no hints, but will it be the next one?

#13246 3 years ago

well two things are happening for sure, A LOTR vault with lcd and Godzilla beyond that who knows.

#13247 3 years ago

Gamera...not Godzilla. He is a turtle. Borg posted a picture of an actual turtle on his Facebook too.

Where’s the proof that LOTR vault is happening?

I’ve seen Dwight confirm Godzilla. Haven’t seen any concrete evidence for LOTR vault...
