Dont understand why Tarantino’s movies never ended up in a pin (except homebrews). Kill Bill seems perfect. Crazy 88’s multiball? Five finger death punch wizard?

#8452 3 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

I think Godzilla is the one that's a code name and is actually just a "giant" pin, not literally Godzilla.
Steve has said Zep is his grail music pin. I don't doubt he got the chance to do it.

I’m hoping this happens soon! Steve R grail theme gonna be killer and been in the works for a while so It should be well developed.

Hanzo Sword ramps a must.

Quoted from zr11990:

I was also thinking a Tombstone pin would be awesome. It would be like Cactus Canyon

Any western theme would be awesome but I would prefer the Clint Eastwood variety. The Good, Bad, and Ugly being top of that list of course. Love the quick draw feature in CC. How cool would it be to have a shootout with multiple targets popping up and down all over pf?

Is that Sting, Sean Penn and Donald Trump?

Sacrilege!
I now must challenge you to a Canadian Duel.. Choose your weapon sir! Hockey Sticks, Polarbear Swim, or Maple Syrup and Pemeal Bacon eating contest.
Specially after Neil Pert passed this year

Quoted from Utesichiban:

Exactly. With most of the actor's dead and the movie being so long ago, how tough would it really be to get the full license?

Well its a Spielberg Movie.. and its Considered the first Summer Blockbuster ever, and is ranked as one of the greats of all time.. Then there's estates for the actors that have passed that just don't care and won't license etc..Considering what a travesty the new ghost busters movie was, I'm not sure I'd rank Ghostbusters original Movie assets higher then Jaws original assets.

Shrug who knows

Dead guys aren't good at returning phone calls. Negotiating with their estates is a task I don't wish on anyone.

There's a wild rumor out there that Pulp Fiction might be made by Chicago Gaming/Mark Ritchie....let's hope!

Tarantino loves kitsch, I bet you could talk him into an affordable pinball deal.

When QT first met with Travolta about being in Pulp Fiction, QT insisted on playing vintage board games all evening. Grease, Welcome Back Kotter, Saturday Night Fever. He asked John to quote lines in character while playing, so he'd definitely understand everyone's desire for their precious callouts.

Hey I rumors their next game was named after some cell phone company accessories store:

That WCS'94 conversion to Kill Bill was extremely sweet, tho.

Would be excited to see Chicago Gaming start making their own, original pins. Not so much for a Pulp Fiction type title, though.

If they did BTTF might I recommend that some of the playfield can change or rotate to transform to match the year.

Lemme explain. You start the game in 1985 and through a serious of shots you can hit 88mph and go to 1955, 1885, 2015 or even alternate 1985! depending on which shots or mode you go into.

So let’s say you have the big center toy as the clock tower from 1985. When you go into 1885 the clock tower rotates and you now see the under construction wood clock tower. In 1955 it would rotate and have Doc and a cable hanging off it. In 2015 it is futuristic and in alternate 1985 Biff’s Casino Hotel rises up behind the clock tower.

You could do the same with a vehicle on the playfield and have it rotate to show...

1885 - the train used to push the Delorean
1955 - Biff’s red classic car
1985 - Iranian’s bus
2015 - Hover Delorean
Alternate 1985 - ????

Drop targets and other elements could transform to match the time period too.

If they are gonna do it they might as well squeeze in all 3 movies and swing for the fences.

Not sure how the 2016 Ghostbusters movie impacts the iconic nature and assets of the first one whatsoever. GB is one of my all time favorite comedies and I never even saw the 2016 version.

Is it bigger than Jaws? I think so but like I said, that is open to debate.

tongue and cheek devils advocate .. Funny tho i find bad remakes more damaging then bad sequels to IP .. but perhaps only to younger generations..shrug

#8468 3 years ago

I dont think anything is really damaging.
There was a rebootish, it wasnt that good.
There's going to be another sequel soon which the first sequel wasnt good, and the new one probably won't be good; Wont change the OG is legandary.

Jaws II was barely salvageable cuz of Scheider. Jaws III was 3D campy but fun. 4 was an insult except Michael Cane.

I usually just go with the flow. Maybe because I usually guess wrong. So here is another bad guess. If "Godzilla" is the code name for the next music pin, then what about Blue Oyster Cult?

#8471 3 years ago

Someone asked George Gomez on Facebook if Tron would be vaulted. His answer was 'maybe'. Hey at least there's a chance!

Gonna see if I can break pinside's all-time downvote record. Ghostbusters was an overrated, average comedy, carried entirely by prime Bill Murray's screen presence and swagger. 2016 reboot was a perfectly fine popcorn flick.

From Dusk till Dawn, Kill Bill, and The Hateful Eight would all translate well to pinball. Love Tarantino.

Kill Bill 1 , 2 and let's hope 3. All that in a pin....Take my money now. I would miss David Carridine..Loved Bill.

How do I look? you look great........walks out in the garden....incredible.

TV Pin - Westworld

#8478 3 years ago

Also, forgot to mention a Price is Right pin. Just imagine using the LCD screen to play the different games like Plinko, Hole in One, PunchaBunch, Switcheroo, etc. Not sure how the playfield would be set up but I think it’d be an easy design with soooo many elements to drop in.

Always thought Brandon Frasier "The Mummy" trilogy would be a great Pinball theme

#8481 3 years ago

Rambo pin?

#8482 3 years ago

A proper Rocky Balboa pin from movie 1-5 could be cool with Hogan(thunderlips), Mr T(Clubber Lang) , Carl Weathers(Apollo Creed) Dolph(Ivan Drago) and Tommy Gunn. Some
Great quotes and callouts from Paulie, Mick and the rest of supporting cast through the years.0

I've been saying that for years. I own a Gottlieb Rocky mainly because I love the franchise. It's fun and I enjoy it, but it doesn't do Rocky justice. A Rocky pin done properly by Stern or JJP would be incredible. Unfortunately, I don't think it will ever happen. And a Rambo pin? That definitely wouldn't happen, though I'd love that too.

Totally agree. I think he was a bit of a one-hit wonder and I am not even sure I would ever re-read Ready Player One again, so maybe not even a one-hit wonder.

I don't know how you all decide Godzilla is a code name. We have it confirmed by both Deeproot and Spooky that Stern has the Toho and Legendary Pictures Godzilla licenses. Charlie even boasted that he knew which designer is doing it. He is not one to lie.

Couldnt finish Armada

I ground through it. All the action happens in the last few chapters, and the ending B-L-O-W-S. But, I did it.

Kind of like how awesome The Rook is, and then the followup, Stiletto is pretty crap (I haven't been able to even finish it).

Yep Rambo, Mummy, Evil Dead, Halloween, Resident Evil, Friday 13th, Slayer, Sabbath, Led Zep, UFC, COD, Doom just to name a few.

#8497 3 years ago

Would love to see an Addams Family based on the TV show. It would go right next to my Batman 66 and Munsters.

My wish list for rock pins would be Queen and LED Zep. You could have a lot of interesting modes for Queen. And maybe a Beastie Boys Pin? With Sabotage mode where you steal points from other players.
