Seeing that Heavy Metal table is probably the most disappointed Ive ever been about a new release. Could have been epic, one of my all time favorite animated movies, instead its a cheap looking overpriced money grab.
Between that and these outrageously overpriced also cheap looking toppers Stern is putting out, not to mention the multiple malfunctions with Stranger Things, Im becoming a bit disgusted. They are pricing me right out of the hobby as the products themselves become flimsier and less reliable.

Heavy Metal is based on the magazine, not the movie. Still doesn't change the fact that it's terrible art on the pin, though.

Will we see some serious shit on the next pinball ?

How will the pinball hover
How will the flux capacitor flux
How will we time travel in style
How will we hit the lightning rod shot
How do you obtain the plutonium
How do you outrun the Libyans
How do we save the clock tower
How can the flippers self flip / lace in the year 2015
How do we hit 88 mph while passing the outer loops
How do you not run into your parents
How do we knock out Biff
How do you play the right chords to prevent the picture image from fading on the LCD

Not sure if the next Stern game will take an Einstein, or a Doctor but it could be pretty McFly if they get it right.

Quoted from yancy:

Zero chance Stern reveals another new cornerstone title "very soon." Hot Wheels or Heavy Metal is my bet.

Hot Wheels is being done by AP.

Jack was teasing his next Dead Flip reveal, which could be anything.

#8156 3 years ago

He's revealing Riot Pinball's Legends of Valhalla. He said so on the stream a few weeks ago and gave a sneak peek on his phone.

#8157 3 years ago

I know he is streaming Riot Pinball's Legends of Valhalla soon. I don't know if that counts as a 'reveal' since they have posted tons of pictures and video of it.

#8158 3 years ago

Deadflips reveal is Hot wheels live stream Saturday 5pm central

#8159 3 years ago
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:

JDanger’s tease is so general, the possibilities are endless. So I am going to hope for what I want it to be. Would love to see a JJP Harry Potter pinball streamed.

It’s hot Wheels. He played it this weekend and teased it on Twitter.

Sure... but Stern isn’t doing Hot Wheels.

Isn't that their Fast and Furious code name?

I think it was BTTF, or Goonies? Maybe Jaws uggh..

Mustang was supposed to have been Fast and Furious. The license did not work out.

Yes, yes. Of course. They were asking about Hot Wheels.

I don't recall American Pinball ever having code names mentioned.

#8167 3 years ago

It will most likely be Heavy Metal. He teased it in a short video last week. He did only show the power coat.

Lets be honest, Ghostbusters was the last great pin Stern did (AC/DC prior to that). The themes and playfields have been bare and boring since then. They need to bite the bullet and do BTTF. Everybody wants it. It's time for another great stern pin.

If they pay for BTTF assets you can bet your ass it’s a bare playfield as there won’t be much left for the playfield after all those licensing dollars have been spent.

I must be missing something, or perhaps just confused. I’m gonna go with that.

I’d take Goonies over BTTF.

Who said Stern is doing Hot Wheels? I said Stern isn't revealing a new cornerstone game anytime soon, so Jack's reveal will be Hot Wheels or Heavy Metal. I played Hot Wheels at the factory, pretty sure I know who's making it, numbnuts.

#8175 3 years ago

I said Jack was streaming a new pin, then later found out it was hotwheels, Never said it was by stern. End of discussion

So after TMNT and Heavy Metal, what are the rumors for the next Stern pin? I don’t recall reading about any other names.

Led Zep

Bill and Ted Pinball.

I have heard that one thrown around. Do you think it is a solid rumor?

Quoted from LukyDuck:

Well, all the guys who seem to be in the know with Stern games have been saying it was after tmnt since last year and is a Steve R game so I’d say it’s about as solid as it gets.

Judging by what most pinsiders want, Stern should build a back to the 80s pin!
Insert a bit of everything like creature style go to the movies, go to some concerts, go to the arcade
Buy rights to theme songs , movie clips and music tracks
Home run!

I've always thought they should do "Walt Disney World" under glass. It can incorporate all of their major 4 Disney World theme parks, the rides can be both incorporated onto the playfield along with the LCD of a POV while being on that particular ride. They have iconic characters, rides, themes, songs etc.

-Represent the 4 major parks:
Epcot
Animal Kingdom
Hollywood Studios
Magic Kingdom
-Characters galore Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Chip N Dale, Figment
-Carousel of progress the backboard or backbox can change rotate scenes from different time periods
-Spinning "tea cups" / pops that interact with the ball
-Cinderella's Castle multiball / bridge.
-Spiel call outs from the attractions / narrations .... "Mr Morrow, Paging Mr. Tom Morrow...."
-Midway Toy Story game can be played on LCD with button on lockdown bar
-Jungle Cruise audible call outs / jokes,
-Expedition Everest Yeti interact with the ball.
-Space Mountain mode playfield has a star effect / LEDs
-Dumbo can magically lift the ball / flly to a different area of the playfield.
-Inverted loop for the Aerosmith Rock N' Rollercoaster
-Travel obtain countries / inserts from The world showcase at Epcot,
-Monorail around 7 seas lagoon can carry the ball.
-Parades / Fireworks / Lighting LCD / LED's
-Tower of Terror Twilight Zone flippers flip reversed
-The haunted mansion can easily create peppers ghost effect on the playfield / LED creepy lighting.
-Unlock RETRO retired rides like Mr. Toad & 20,000 Leagues under the sea LCD POV Ride footage

Adventures of Pinside with never-ending DLC modes and price increase. If you enter the best video, Gary Stern will be your pinball topper for the day.
