Quoted from King_Jelly:EDIT: There is a very good chance that there will be no Ninja Turtles...
Stern uses Code Names for their games.
Jaws = Jurassic Park
Goonies = Stranger Things
The current publisher of Heavy Metal was one of the creators of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:
“Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who had grown up reading Heavy Metal, took over publication of the magazine with volume 16 in May 1992, under the name Metal Mammoth, Inc. Eastman sold the magazine to digital and music veteran David Boxenbaum and film producer Jeff Krelitz in January 2014. Eastman continued to serve as publisher of the magazine and is a minority investor in the new Heavy Metal, which is now published by Heavy Metal Media, LLC.“

It could be that was a code name... suppose it could be also not be the case. Maybe this was part of a deal Stern made, where agreeing to do this contract game helped them land the TMNT license? Time will tell!

Quoted from JodyG:What's up with Stern raising the price on JP pro to $6099?
All games went up $100 in 2020.
Quoted from JodyG:What's up with Stern raising the price on JP pro to $6099?
It’s for the higher quality.
Quoted from JodyG:That's more than $100
MSRP went up $100 to $6099. No one is paying MSRP. Street price also went up $100.
Quoted from 2pupPinz:Egads, that’s insane
Indeed. I feel for the distributors as it isn’t their fault. It is self defeating in the long term as there are just less and less games to go around the collectors. It is about $1500 cheaper to buy from mainland Europe. Just pure greed.
If we paid the same prices as you guys in the US, I would be looking to buy a NIB game probably once every couple of years. No chance of that of the current UK prices.

One word Electrocoin....

Compared to everyone else , you guys in the US do get it a lot better , but it dose suck when your favourite thing keeps going up in price .
IMG_20200224_203832 (resized).jpgYeah, we get shafted big time on price. Also....Pinball isn't massive in UK so we have to roll the dice and take our chances.
What I mean is, when a new pin comes out, not much chance to try before you buy really.
Guys in the states are so lucky, you can turn up to wash your dirty skids in a Laundromat and trap Ghosts or defeat the Black Knight while you wait FFS

You should have seen the look on my face when we went to the cinema last week and saw a brand new JP and GB in the foyer , I didn't think that happened any more .

Not that much. The converts to $6240 (USD) for a Pro. MSRP is $6099 here.

Well, to dive into something I know little about* isn't there a huge salary discrepancy between Australia and the States in raw dollar amount? I think even your minimum wage is over $18 and hour, right? Makes sense that a distributor has to make more Australian dollars profit to make a living than one in the States does. Still seems really pricey though -- wish you guys got cheaper machines for sure.
*100% of all my Australian economic knowledge comes from this one article (which I skimmed for 30 seconds): https://www.afr.com/policy/tax-and-super/australia-s-average-wage-is-30-per-cent-above-world-average-20190411-p51d3e

There’s a lot of reasons and that’s one. Also costs a lot to ship a huge 130kg box from Chicago to Sydney. Plus duty, tax, local warranty etc etc. Our prices are equivalent to Stern MSRP. Only difference is we don’t get “street” price. I’m ok with that because our distributor does a fantastic job.
Is there anyway that Borg and Dwight could be doing Back to the Future for the next Kapow title instead of it being Turtles?
Quoted from CreepyTom:Is there anyway that Borg and Dwight could be doing Back to the Future for the next Kapow title instead of it being Turtles?
If you want to get crazy, maybe a Sex and the City pin? Kapow/IGT has the slot machines in casinos now. Think of the sea of women that will open their wallets to buy their very own pinball machine just to find out if they're really a Samantha or a Carrie!

KAPOW/SLE releases seem to have Lyman attached, he’s a massive selling point, Lyman being on code was a big reason a lot of people went in on BM66 and ElviraHOH.
I’d be surprised if Stern risk a KAPOW/SLE release with Dwight on code.

Dwight gets shat on so much.
Say what you will about some of his choices, but Star Wars is a chess game of depth, Game of Thrones is an incredible game with numerous strategies, and he did the best he could with the Ghostbusters layout. The only stinker is Munsters, and its problem is more the lack of content in the code which can be justified as Munsters was never going to be a big seller and the code team was never going to get a substantial amount of resources. (And who knows, Dwight might surprise everyone someday with a massive code update out of nowhere)
Also the only KaPow game with Lyman on it was Batman 66. (Lyman just seems to love splicing up footage for clips so it's no surprise he did Elvira as well). Beatles rules were done by Mike Vinikour I believe
Quoted from TreyBo69:Star Wars is a chess game of depth
I've heard this SW/chess comparison more than once, but I can't say I agree. It's a pretty straightforward mode + multiball game, with shot multipliers, which don't make the game any deeper. I'd compare it to backgammon, with its use of the doubling cube; you can ignore it and just play the game, or you can raise the stakes.
I'd give the chess-like compliment to Game of Thrones.
Quoted from yancy:I'd give the chess-like compliment to Game of Thrones.
SW = Checkers. Still a hard game with strategy, but a little more bonkers.
Interesting that Keith Elwin is already done with his third game and will be working on his fourth game next. So whatever he's been working on after Jurassic Park, it's finished.
how do you know he's done with his third? if Elwin did Ninja Turtles with the Zombie Yeti art I'd have a heart attack.
Quoted from cleanandlevel:how do you know he's done with his third?
I believe it was mentioned by Keith on Loser kid podcast

Elwin said so on a podcast, it’s documented on TWIP....

I hope you're wrong and its the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Complete with Ennio Morricone score and cinematic/voice samples from the film, plus new Clint callouts.

Yes, 80+ year old Clint Eastwood is going to do call outs for pinball lol. Seems legit!

I would probably be in on that!
