#6752 4 years ago
Quoted from guitarded:

It is.
The Stairway to Heaven is a $500 factory option.

I wonder if the original Spirit version will be available...

#6753 4 years ago

Give the music group pins a rest for awhile.

Tired of Rock pinball machines even though they sound great.

Bring on a nasty Porn/Pee Wee pin

#6754 4 years ago

Evil Dead - No brainer
BTTF - (one day )
Nirvana
Battlefield/or/Call of Duty - (personally think it could be amazing, especially with a licensing partnership)

#6755 4 years ago
Quoted from Darth_Chris:

Megadeth would be cool next to my maiden
Just an idea but how about a western pin ? The man with no name deserve a pin. I find it weird they never explore the far west more.
Westerns are part of american history and the theme is classic and everybody on earth respect clint eastwood.

Because guns. The SJWs would have a shit fit and it wouldnt fly.

Next Stern pin is....

Choose Your Own Adventure!

Comes with no toys, no art, no mechs, just a wood cabinet and a ball. You then can choose from a list of pieces and build it yourself like a lego set. Pre order special of 5 mix/match pieces for $1000 (+9k for the machine). If you want art you can have a spray can for $500. New slogan: An imagination is worth 1000 dollars+shipping.

#6757 4 years ago
Quoted from Zablon:

El siguiente pin de popa es ...
¡Elige tu propia aventura!

Jajajajajajajajaja

The next Stern pin will have the ball shot into three rollover lanes at the top right of the machine. The player will be able to spot the lanes with the flippers, advancing the bonus multiplier. From the three (or maybe four) rollovers, The ball falls into a set of pop bumpers too weak or poorly positioned to give any real action or to push the ball back up into the rollovers.

But, it doesn’t matter, because the player's view of that portion of the playfield will be obscured by either ramps or toys.

The rest of the game will be shooting at ramps and lanes.

Just like the other Sterns.

Pretty sure TWD doesnt have a problem shotgunning heads off and splattering blood on the screen

That’s dots animation though, would they be as willing with full 3D rendered or actual video footage from *insert licence here* of a head being blown off?

I’d f’in love it if they did so I’m all for it! I’d love a gritty DREDD pin, licence should be cheap as chips and loads of great material in that movies along with half a dozen heads being blown off or up.

Quoted from J85M:

.

They probably wouldn't have a problem showing a shoot out ot or something. Not a ton of head blowing off in the western genre, sans The Quick and the Dead

#6762 4 years ago

According to Kaneda-

Led Zepplin is coming at Expo 2020 and it will be a cornerstone title. Not Kapow. Not a quicksilver reskin. Original game by Steve Ritchie.
Metallica is getting another run.
Rerun of Transformers with comic art on it.

This is a headscratcher. LEs are dirt cheap and it's a crappy game. Maybe a code update, too?

there are now 5 or 6 movies to draw new content and animation clips from (depending on how it was licensed/re-licensed

He hinted that the comic art may not be the only change...but I agree, a definite head scratcher. Knowing stern, the license was the path of least resistance compared to the rest of the vault options.

It needs the BM66 treatment, minus the stupid price!

Redesign half the layout and mechs or forget about it! Actually come to think of it half that layout/game wasn’t that fun, where as BDK had the crane which is all Gomez really kept with BM66.

Are you talking about the abomination of movies from Micheal Bay or animated movies?

Reskin it, redesign and bang an lcd in with Transformers the Movie complete with full audio and visual (have unicron on the back board like the ring shot on LOTR) and I’ll sell a kidney for that!

#6768 4 years ago

Too much effort. If Stern does another Transformers it will be plain old SAM with new artwork/graphics. Think Spiderman VE

And that will be another saving for me

Honestly if all Stern do is change the art anyone who brought one of those would be mad just buy a bargain LE and get cabinet art and plastics printed up along with a playfield overlay should save you at least 5 or 6 grand.

#6770 4 years ago

I would think if they are doing a comics art package, then the 'toys' etc would also have to be the comic models which would be much better. Maybe if designed in that manner with DMD/LCD using old assets rather than the abomination movies there might be some desire for it...otherwise, I don't get it either.

So use the new movie content, but change the art to the comic books? More head scratching...

#6772 4 years ago

I don't know how dumb it is. The game is an abortion true, with the worst "toy" in the history of pinball, buuuut boneheads will buy it just cause of the cartoon art so might as well sell it.

#6773 4 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Do comic style cab and play field and first gen toys gets you in a good spot. Then add the cartoon theme song, voices, and sound effects and you are in great shape.

It may be good to get white lions transformers theme for a multi ball.

If I could thumbs you up more than once I’d be here all night!

Sadly the reality is Stern are likely aware they can slap some comic/cartoon art on it and sell out on reveal!

G1 comic/cartoon art will have people falling over themselves, even if you have to pay $279 to change the dmd from the original movies screen grabs to new comic art dots/cartoon clips

Quoted from JodyG:

I don't get this, unless it's a BM66 situation...where they modify the layout, upgrade to LCD and rewrite the rules.

Otherwise, TF is the cheapest used LE you can buy. Nobody wants it.

Still hoping for that Stern personality re-skin so I can have a Gomez vs Ritchie deathmatch.

I also think X men le and Avenger le are jockeying for third.

WOAH THERE, I know X-Men LE doesn't go for oodles, but I think it's the best by far out of Avengers, WWE, and TF.

I'm just going on price. Xmen seems to be on the lower end for an le.

XMEN LE isn't even in the same universe as WWE LE and Transformers LE. It's a hard game, and that makes it tough to have fun, but it's not a turd. I mean, it was BORN a turd, but eventually the software got pretty good. Unfortunately the callouts weren't re-done and remain some of the worst Stern toilet-bowl floaters ("shitty Beast" is my favorite pinside character voicework description), but not much can be done about that.

WWE (Software Lead:Waison/Lonnie), Transformers (Software Lead:Lonnie), and Avengers (Software Lead:Lonnie) are bona-fide turds, still. See anything they have in common with Stranger Things (Software Lead:Lonnie)?

It’s why Stern must be looking to rework TF, there’s just no demand for them, they take ages to sell on, if they sell at all and when they do it’s usually with continual reductions/bumps.

Would new art alone really shift many units? And would there really be much interest for operators to put out a G1 Transformers?

I think there would be...as an entirely newly envisioned pin. I mean..TMNT is next right? It's already been done...

#6787 4 years ago
Quoted from Zablon:

Not by Borg
TMTurtles is not a theme for me, but I could imagine it being super cool. Borg design with ZY on art will be wild. No lower playfield, just some awesome callouts, wicked ramps and subways with divertors.

Just fix up those crappy playfields please Stern

As much as as I like Led Zeppelin, I would also love to see it happen.
The Album artwork covers were not that great through the decades. Be interesting see how they manage this....
There are many other choices of bands from this era imho - such as Pink Floyd. Better art, potential Pin integration. Music more fitting to a pin. The Wall for example. Just a though but would love to be proved wrong.

Going to be fascinating what Ritchie does with this licence?

And it will be Spike 3, whatever that does.

Something to look forward to, if they pull this off. IMO, this is the sort of Pins, especially the LEs that will hold some real value over time

Expecting a 2 flipper, fan layout design with photoshop art. Hoping for a gong bash toy. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b8/44/ec/b844ece9c2100ca9b186742715ea9235.jpg

Must have animated blimp footage.

I'd rather not see another band pin right away though.

Internet connectivity and DLC ??

#6797 4 years ago

Man a Zeppelin pin would have to be off the charts gameplay wise for me to want one. I am SOO over that band. I also cannot fathom how that theme would actually be anything good. Why not just put them on the jukebox while playing one of your other games?

If it’s Led Zeppelin, Spike 3 will enable DLC songs and probably kill Pinball Browser access.
