Do you know what Abraham Lincoln and the guy sitting in front of Pee Wee Herman in the movie theater have in common?
Both were shot in the back of the head.

#5102 4 years ago
Quoted from Rager170:

Where does it say he was in possession of child pornography?

Some of the news reports said he apparently had "art books" with pictures of underage boys in various artsy poses. He called it commercial art, police called it child porn. I guess he won. Never heard more about it. Maybe ask Trudeau?

#5103 4 years ago
Quoted from JodyG:

I heard Pee Wee's popcorn bucket he used at the movie theater had the bottom cut out of it

salted

Quoted from Chalkey:

Can't believe ZY posted in this thread and didn't tell us what the next game is. Come on, bro!

He mentioned Kaneda, so the next Game will definately be AKIRA.

Not sure I‘d accept that one with Western Art though. XD

Quoted from jfh:

Wonder if a Pee Wee game would have flashers ...

“Ball search” would be a regular feature!

I don’t know about Stern’s very next pin but I do believe there is one being kicked around for the new Wonder Woman or The Suicide Squad movie. I’m sure Stern would like to grow their fan base with a younger crowd and maybe more female buyers. Hey, Wonder Woman sounds cool to me too. By the way, the rumor didn’t come from the pinball crowd. I heard that one from someone in the movie industry.

Yuck to both of those!

Honestly, except for Back to the Future (which won't get done) and G1 Transformers, there's no themes really drawing me in this thread.

Pee Wee's Playhouse was ok back in the day, but "meh" now. There have to be better 80s and 90s themes out there. Not sure what they are. A classic SNL pin could be pretty damn cool. Aside from Deadpool, humor in today's pins is rare.

A humor pin that could have been cool but miss the time would have been Super Troopers..

I like "Classic SNL" but it's too broad of a theme to work well. Pick a single good skit/character and go with it. Of course that may end up as a niche title (more Spooky style than Stern) unless you go with one of the huge properties like Wayne's World, but at least it would have potential to be coherent theme-wise.

The Neverending Story

#5112 4 years ago
Quoted from Rager170:

The Neverending Story

They can put that as a mode in the Stranger Things pin.

#5113 4 years ago
Quoted from kciaccio:

It certainly needs its own pin. So much you could do with that one as well.

As much as I like Stranger Things tv show, I dont have an interest in a pin of it. I think it would be kind of boring.

#5114 4 years ago
Quoted from Rager170:

The Neverending Story.

But then the pin wouldn't have a wizard mode (hence neverending).

#5115 4 years ago

I'd be in for a Shelby pin. Or Ford v. Ferrari (but it's probably hard to tie in to a movie that's not likely to be a huge box office smash with sequels).

Still... Cobras. GT40s. Daytona Coupes. Speed. Racing. Crashes. Awesomeness.

Just, dear God, no Dodge GLH-S Omni things. Those were hideous.

#5116 4 years ago
Quoted from zombieyeti:

I’m still digesting all of that podcast but I can tell you that’s not been my experience at all. Gary is actually very nice and personable. But - I’m sure it has everything to do with the fact I have never tried to sell my work that they paid the usage rights for.
No professional artist I know ascribes to what I heard on that podcast, btw.
Also - Greg absolutely has a personality and a great sense of humor (he did write the majority of all Elvira games after all iirc).
So weird that at all turns he felt victimized after admitting to insisting his behavior he was asked to change (selling his stern art) was ok 70 times? They only have to say no once. You signed a contract. Bizarre to me.
So much incorrect info in that podcast... I don’t get it - But he unfriended me long ago with no reason and wouldn’t speak to me at expo...

I do not blame Gary for protecting his licensing.

A strong business owner will always protect his business first.

Thx for the great work zombieyeti

Love cars but i think Mustang proved that this type of theme isn't going to work...

side note can't wait for the movie! another good one would be the Lamborghini VS Ferrari story

I’m holding out for Cannonball Run.

I’d like to see an NHL All-Stars pin. Sega Hockey ‘93 graphics where you can make Gretzky bleed.

I’d be all over BTTF and G1 Transformers, wonder if Gomez would be down for doing a BM66 to his original transformers and knocking it out the park this time with a killer layout and code, his first transformers fell short imo.

Just a thought from an old timer, I always thought a pin based on National Lampoons Vacation would make a decent fun pin. So much stuff in that film that modes could be created from (haven't thought that far ahead), Holiday Road as theme song, Dancin' across the USA used somewhere. Maybe even get custom speech from the actors, if financially possible. Thoughts?

Or just 'National Lampoons', which could have 4 different modes (Vacation, European, Christmas and Vegas), with their own missions.

As unpopular as it seems to be around here and I’m probably in the minority that likes the theme as a pin (probably something to do with being 33 and on the younger end of the collectors) but fast and furious would surely earn big on location the latest couple of films have been trash and I say that as a fan, seems like a no brainier though, car/heist theme for pinheads and a very popular for casuals on location, it’s a billion dollar franchise these days.

Then again I’d also love to see a John Wick pin or a SAW pin from spooky with a load of mechs/traps!

Good point. This theme would earn well, but is it too expensive for Stern?

#5129 4 years ago

I think fast and the furious could make a good theme. It may be unattainable. They may get the name but no actors or sound clips. In today's market everybody needs to get paid. Actors, car manufacturers, hell the tire company on the cars will want likeness royalties.

#5130 4 years ago

I didn't actually mean the blood thing. Just that 94 is hands down the best of that era

Supposedly that was the license that turned into Mustang when it didn't work out.

Pee Wee could be a great theme, lots to add. Just not sure how many people are fans of that show these days.

never liked him but Weird Al I do

#5142 4 years ago

I know this theme would never be made, but a Police Academy pin could be hilarious.

#5143 4 years ago
Quoted from PW79:

If Stern made a Miami Vice pin...
I'd make a topper out of a bag of powdered sugar
2.2lbs wizard mode
Uzi hurry up
Spell Ferrari to start multiball
Crocodile bash toy under the boat

Izzy hurry up. MANG!!

And a Noogy multiball, a Calderone's return lane. Trudy's bootie call.........

Caddyshack pin... Golf with humor would be fun.

He is asking for Stern to just release TMNT already!!! Probably have to wait until next year for that one, if its coming at all.
