    Quoted from mnpinball:

I keep hoping for "Queen" with Freddie Mercury.

Heighway is going after that as their 3rd title.

    don't tease me like that

    #702 4 years ago

iron maiden --- absolutely.. the art and EDDIE... I am sure the creative ideas/themes/modes/possibilities are endless!

band starting to age out (best stuff was 1st 2nd 3rd albums) but I would be ON BOARD

I just don't see Stern doing another music pin right-a-way. They have sure done a hell of a job recently crankin out the metal!!!!

    #703 4 years ago

    what about PRIEST!!!

    #704 4 years ago

So far band pins that actually sell seem to correspond with metal bands that actually get play on my jukeboxes.

Very few of the bands on this list get any play at all. I get a lot more play on bands like gnr, megadeth, slayer, creedence then anything on the survey. Iron maiden gets a little play. Beatles are dead as hell on jukeboxes.

As an op with 100 or so boxes, I would be hesitant to buy any band pin that doesn't atleast get a little consistent play on the jukebox. Anything that isn't rock or heavy metalish is pretty much doomed on location as far as band pins go also.

Not that any of this matters to stern though, they quit listening to operators years ago.

    #705 4 years ago
    Quoted from Aurich:

If you're lucky they'll at least frontload it with earlier material like Metallica did.

I'm already lucky because like Metallica I have their early albums on vinyl that I also no longer play. Nothing like putting an old bands music on a pinball machine though to make you never want to hear them again.

What are the top 100 bands on your jukes?

Yeah, or even your top 10.

That would be sweet. Instant purchase for me.

Please release another music pin in 2016 Stern. I love music pins!

    Quoted from PinballManiac40:

Yes, Sir. Lenny Kravitz opened up for Aerosmith a few years ago. Both kicked ass.

Apologize in advance if it's been mentioned. Why one band? Nothing out there rumored to be coming really "wows" me. Can't Stern create a comic character(s) theme similar to Adult Swim cartoons or similar to the Metallica art and then license individual songs? Wish the ACDC pin had caricature artwork (Aurich? Anything better to do while you, and many of us, are just sitting around doing absolutely nothing while you wait? ). Make a more appealing compilation pin... Check Pandora or Spotify for popularity stats... 80's Rock... 90's Rock... Hair Band Mania...

Art work and playfield would be limitless... Only licensing would be songs. If the bands won't license, get a "house" band. Many or most HUO will put their own songs on anyway.

I apologize for mentioning James Brown again, but I feel it has good potential. They made an Elvis pin long after he passed, so why not James Brown? His music is soulful, funky and fast-paced. It's still played frequently.

You can have several toys/shots referencing his songs:

    -Sex Machine shaker motor
-Brand New B-A-G motorized drop target
    -Say It Loud add-a-ball
-Big Payback ball save time extender
-I Got The Feelin' playfield multiplier
    -Super Bad magnetic accelerator/spinning disc
-Night Train ramp lock (ala Police Force car lock)
-I Feel G-O-O-D inline drop targets
-Get Up Offa That Thang slam ramp (ala NGG) sends ball airborne
-Dancing JB figure a la Elvis, but much more mobile (if mechanics allow it)
-Top S-O-U-L over lanes light bonus x
    -Godfather wizard mode

And just check out these dance moves. Would look awesome when you score super jackpots or repeated combos. Add his signature HEEEAAAAY!! for effect

    #716 4 years ago

If I cant get an Iron Maiden I want a Link Wray pin. The kiddies would go nuts for some Comanche multiball.

    #717 4 years ago

RIP Lemmy you were one of the best among the best. A great and long period of our life have desappeared with you. You and Motorhead deserve your pin if, for once, the quality corresponds to your immense talent !

    #718 4 years ago
    Quoted from Baiter:

Rumor mill has the original members getting back together for a new tour.

    So I saw today...good call.

"Guns N' Roses -- complete with founding members Axl Rose and Slash -- will reunite to headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in April 2016 ... this according to several reports."

Are they prone to rioting @ Coachella?

Please Stern, please. Such great imagery for a pin and so many songs to go with it.

    #725 4 years ago

Alice Cooper would be a great choice.for a pin.

    #726 4 years ago

If it's Motley, I'm in for an LE Day 1.

    #727 4 years ago

It will be a remake of gnr. Period, end of discussion. Like it or not.

    #728 4 years ago

    Lords of Acid

    #729 4 years ago

I'd love a 70s or 80s themed pin with different songs from the era, from different genres (like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City)

Among those groups should be DEVO! I just found this gem from them, and I'm surprised I never heard it before...

    #730 4 years ago
    Quoted from GAP:

Alice Cooper would be a great choice.for a pin.

Agree...campy horror meets music. Lots to work with.

    #731 4 years ago

    Gotta go with Electric Wizard.

    #732 4 years ago

How about Prince? Purple Rain multiball anyone?

Sure, and I recommend lady gaga for the sounds

Hey, CCR would be cool too!

LCD Soundsystem reunion, now that's serious news!!!!!

    #739 4 years ago

Man if it's Aerosmith I actually might pass. They have decent music but I'm not sure what would be the attraction. I feel like it would be more AC/DC clip art.

At least with Maiden or MC you could do some amazing cartoonish art.

Guess someone needs some cash, might be the shortest breakup in music history.

That first re-up with Roth & VH was pretty quick. GNR might not even last the night before LCD hits the stage so I don't know.

    Quoted from TheLaw:

That first re-up with Roth & VH was pretty quick. GNR might not even last the night before LCD hits the stage so I don't know.

And Weezer only took three years to get back together...

Not that I'm not happy about the LCD reunion but watching Shut up and Play the Hits depressed the hell out of me.
Now it feels like it was all for show, ah well I'll still go see them again just not at Coachella.
    That festivals a gong-show now.

    #743 4 years ago
    Quoted from schwarz:

Not that I'm not happy about the LCD reunion

I once went to a party and they played "Daft Punk is playing at my house" the entire night.

    #744 4 years ago

    Was it Paige's house?

    #745 4 years ago

Billy Joel has been selling out MSG for months now. I can see his music making for a very VERY enjoyable and timeless pinball machine with a wide audience appeal.

    #746 4 years ago

I see that the results of the poll show Iron Maiden in first position. I presume it is linked to the art of their albums.

Indeed, that s very nice design. Personnally I could not stay hours playing with IM songs.

with less emphasis on art, Judas Priest is my favourite band, and I am sure that an eagle on yellow background would make a superb backglass

    #747 4 years ago
    Quoted from tl54hill:

    #79: ZZ Top (25 million)

Now there is one that I didn't think of. I think ZZ Top would make for a great pin.

    #748 4 years ago
    Quoted from tl54hill:

    #11: AC/DC (72 million)
#13: The Rolling Stones (66.5 million)

    #18: Metallica (62 million)
    #20: Van Halen (56.5 million)
    #30: Guns N’ Roses (44.5 million)

    Rolling stones and metallica done
Guns n roses - maybe a vault edition with updated sounds

I would totally buy a aerosmith or van halen pin without hesitation

Must have been a lot Ecstasy going round.
