There is a rumor going around that in the next couple of months, Stern will announce another classic rock pin to be released. I know there will be a lot of people saying, "I'm sick of all the rock pins, give us something different". I personally think rock music and pinball are a perfect match. I think Stern is starting to believe this too. The sales numbers for music pins appear to be blowing the other pins out of the water...so it makes sense Stern will try to capitalize on this. Sure, at some point the market will become over saturated with music pins...but until then...they should, and IMO, will continue to release them for the foreseeable future.
Having said all that...it's time for, "What do you want the next music pin to be poll"?
(And I didn't forget about all you Iron Maiden freaks either!)
I've set the poll up to where you can vote for more than one!

Aerosmith maybe, if it has to be classic rock. I would prefer to see something a little newer: Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Audioslave...

I know, maybe "Kid Rock: Trailer Park Pinball"

Slayer or Motorhead would be nice, Priest too.

How am I the only one to vote Rush so far? And there is a Canadian who commented too! tisk tisk. Also, why isn't Nugent an option?

I keep hoping for "Queen" with Freddie Mercury.

    #7 4 years ago

ZZ Top would be great for a CC style theme.
Maiden, so much cool imagery to choose from.

Sorry, I like Slayer better than those two but wouldn't make as cool a pin IMO.

    #8 4 years ago

    No Alice Cooper?

    #9 4 years ago

I wish there was a "none of the above" in your poll.

    #10 4 years ago

Rush is great but the imagery just isn't there for pinball, Motorhead, Maiden and Slayer for me anyway would make for some fantastic artwork, not to mention good fast music. Reign in Blood LE, never happen but oh man would that be cool.

I'd like to see NIN but not a chance of the I know.

    #12 4 years ago

Where are The Ramones and The Cramps ?

    #14 4 years ago

I voted for Maiden because the art and music would make for a really cool pinball. I also think that Motorhead would make a killer pin, the music and art are great.....plus the license would be easy, Lemmy loves pinball!

Gotta go with the Wu-Tang still..

    Hell Yea!

    #17 4 years ago

    Aerosmith

    #18 4 years ago

My brother had a cool idea.....

Reuse a Tommy playfield but with new artwork.....add a bunch of songs from different years (Baba O'Reilly, Eminence Front, etc.)......new dots and sounds but no big programming changes....

Bingo! You've got yourselves The Who pinball.

    Later,
    EV

    Queen!

    #20 4 years ago

    Queen would be awesome

    #21 4 years ago

    Killer Queen!

    #22 4 years ago

Foo fighters. An actually relevant band

    #23 4 years ago

    Run DMC

    #24 4 years ago

I'd jump all over a Grateful Dead pin

    GratefullDead_Logo.jpg

    #25 4 years ago

Id b first in line for The Clash!!

Their music lends itself perfectly for a pin

    #26 4 years ago

The Smashing Pumpkins. I can dream can't I?

    #27 4 years ago

I would like them to make one layout with identical rules. You pick which musician for the package, similar to how they did NFL.

Then say you bought the Iron Maiden model but it's Friday so you're in the mood for some Rebecca Black hits, just load up the rom and enjoy

    #28 4 years ago

Repmovable skins for the artwork. Is it Lexi Lightspeed that has those?

    #29 4 years ago

    I think that's Heighway

    #30 4 years ago

Motley Crue = Shut up and take my money

I think a Slayer pin would be insane! Raining blood / Season in the Abyss LE. Has to have 7 faces multi ball with 7 balls

    #31 4 years ago

Here's my write-in vote for Barenaked Ladies, tit for tat for the Silverball album.

    #32 4 years ago

You can scrape half of them off the list just by looking at past releases. Other than the anomaly that was Elvis all of their music pins have been based on old, but still active bands.

Iron Maiden is the one I'd jump at, love the Megadeth suggestion too but bet Dave Mustaine would be too much of a pain in the ass to deal with.

How about reuse a Tommy playfield but actually have music and artwork from a band called The Who instead of a bunch of scabs?

It would sell like crazy to any member of MBLA

    #34 4 years ago

In order I'd buy (coincedentally in order of least likely to most likely):
    Slayer
    Dethklok (Metalocalypse)
    Iron Maiden

    Dethklok (Metalocalypse)

Oh man, that would be so great. A band pin, with hand drawn art, animated clips from the show, and Brendon Small doing custom voice work. And it wouldn't even be his first for a pin since he's the voice of Sparky.

    #36 4 years ago

I actually love my Tommy pin partly due to seeing the musical back in High School. Likewise I'd love to see them do a Green Day pin. They also have a gigantic audience and then also had the Broadway musical American Idiot. I know it's not a choice, but since I wouldn't consider any of the choices in the poll, this is my write-in.

I'd love a Victor and Tiny pin. There's gotta be a huge audience for a pin based on characters from a handful of Comedy Bang Bang podcasts, right? Every time you tilt, Victor would try to sing and pass out.

The old saying is true...you learn something new everyday!

Def Leppard if they would stick to High n Dry and Pyromania.

    #40 4 years ago

I'll go for a Maiden with some old and new art taking us through the years.

Some Zombie Yeti would work nicely for the current years.image.jpg

    #41 4 years ago

Another nice art piece by Dan Mumford for Maiden.image.jpg

    #42 4 years ago

I've read a lot of good suggestions for music pins in this thread, but the poll will only accept up to 9 choices. Otherwise, I would of included Aerosmith, Queen, Greatful Dead, Megadeth, (a modern version of) Guns n Roses, and even (a modern version of) Uncle Ted! Someone at Stern is probably keeping an eye on this thread to see what the masses want (we can hope anyway!)...so keep the suggestions coming!

    #43 4 years ago

Has to be something different, like Green Jelly or Gwar

Buffalo native +1 for green jello!

    #45 4 years ago

    don't forget the European market
some bands won't sell in Europe

I hope for an Iron Maiden pin...!

I still have my CD's that say Green Jello before they did the name change

    #47 4 years ago

Flaming Lips just so they could have a giant ball with the singer in it moving across the playfield.

I am a big Aerosmith fan but are they as big in the south and west as they are ink the northeast

Stern really needs to do an Iron Maiden pin. It just has so much potential and the demand is there.
