Title says it all! Which will be first, Star Wars topper or Ghostbusters code update? I honestly thought both would have been released last year but apparently each has been delayed but remains in Stern's schedule.

I pre-ordered the SW topper 18 months ago. I canceled it 3 months ago. Stern is sometimes their own worst enemy.

Out before Toy Story or GNR pin?

#4 4 years ago

5 more pins will probably come out before either one.

Heavily interested in both, and it disappoints me greatly to say it, but if I had to bet money I would say the topper.

I voted GB code because I don’t know why.

#7 4 years ago

Maybe they are holding GB for a vault launch?
I voted code but honestly for the SW guys I hope the topper hits first.
I sold my SWLE long ago and my GB is pretty good already so we will leave it in up to the pin gods.

Haha Love it. The answer is none and either ever will come out.

I think Stern would just like to forget Ghostbusters even exists.

Im going with the topper......

They already said they are working on both, i don’t understand all the talking and complaining about it. Just wait, it will come. It is also not very nice for the people who are working on it if there is so much complains on Pinside.

If you have some good ideas, do you see bugs while playing just send them to Stern without all the negative vibes. That is helpfull for all of us all.

Ofcours, it takes a long time but there i assume there is a good reason for the delay. And with licensing there are other parties invold.

Just enjoy playing pinball, buy the games that you like, dont buy games you dont like or sell it when you are not satified with the code (updates). Play first the game on the streets, so operators earn some money and keep pinball alive for the new generation ans you can check if you really like the game.

You should add the Stern Coffee Table Book to the poll. All 3 of them are years behind schedule at this point. Anyone's guess as to which of those three things come out first or if any of them actually ever see the light of day.

Fitting that this shows up in the ads of this thread. Gotta love the text too..."Stern Star Wars Topper, Topper will be ready for Holiday release."

Is Munsters coo coo clock with interactive Raven an option?

I think they miss out on a lot of sales when the add-ons aren't available at the time the game is released. Doubt nearly as many people buy even 6 months after the game is released. It's really quite puzzling why they don't always have a full array of accessories available at game release. Gotta be losing out on Millions. The accessories have to be the easy part compared to designing the game itself.....Puzzling, but then again it is STERN......

^^^ This. Opportunity cost on a high margin item for sure.

I believe they now gauge intrest in accessories before committing to a run. For example side rails and shooters. They are still sitting on side rails for titles two years old. Shooters they found a sweet spot with BK which IMO is a great value. Back to toppers -Flat panel RGB made on demand toppers have been the standard for years. Stern tried 3d cast toppers and sat on them for too long. Now they are.doing flat panel RGB like laseriffic does but charge the same as the 3d cast versions. They will find a middle ground at some point. If they did flat panel RGB controlled toppers for 299.95 retail I think they would quickly corner the topper market. Mechanical moving toppers would be better with an $399 price point. Again price should be determined by the amount of interaction beyond a RGB light show and should very game to game reflecting that interaction.

well, don't you think this has been done already ?

than only, long after, came the negative vibes, when you feel you're talking in the desert...

but OK, new code will/should/could/may/seems coming, than

Very close race! The Ghostbusters code update may very well win.

Stern toppers are usually a cheaply made redundant logo costing $500. Just buy a 3rd party topper like we've been doing for ages.

GB is... well, GB. Sell it to a non enthusiast on CL/EB/FB & move on

That's what I'd do. Aside from not buy GB/SW in the first place.

Looks like Ghostbusters is going to win this one! During tonight's Ghostbusters code update stream Dwight was asked about the Star Wars topper and said "I don't know where the hell that is" haha.

Star Wars topper will be the myth of pinball...if Ghostbusters gets an update (finished)...I’m in.
