Quoted from str8cash:

Remember when cereal had toys in the box? These were cool the first throw or 2 before they hit the carpet and didn't work anymore.

Quoted from Mr68:

It does look interesting. Here's a preview. https://www.netflix.com/title/80161497

I watched the GI Joe episode last night. Absolutely fantastic and I learned allot about the line that I didn't know about, even though I have collected them since 1985. Will be binge watching the entire series this weekend for sure.

Quoted from Haggy38:

Nothing better than a vintage toys and vídeo consoles .
Gustavo[quoted image][quoted image]

I've thought a few times about getting into collecting Lynx. It's the one vintage handheld console that I've never owned, not sure why. Right now I am in the Game Gear collecting phase so I restore and repair them. Starting to get worn out on them though so that may be the open door to get into Lynx.

My question after my experience with all the failures I experienced as a kid: how do you keep one running?

You asking about the Game Gear??

Quoted from cottonm4:

This is the first time I have ever heard about anybody destroying a Tonka truck.

That's what I said. Hell, we used to sit on ours and roll down hills, sometimes two of us at a time on the dump truck. Never even bent an axle lol

I was born in 78 and have had way to many favorite toys to name them all. In my late 20's I started to collect the toys that I used to have but were long gone, then suddenly it exploded into collecting a little bit of everything like TMNT, He-man, Joe's, Transformers, etc. But there has always been one single toy that was and always will be my favorite, Galoob Micro Machines. I've been obsessed with cars since before I could walk, so almost everything that I played with was toy related, but when 1987 came around that changed everything. Micro Machines debuted and another obsession began, the details, the size, there was nothing else like them. Fast forward to now and I still collect them along with my youngest child who loves them as much as I did at her age. Every once in awhile I'll get down in the floor with her and we'll build a few playsets to make a massive city. We've got hundreds of sealed packs, playsets, and thousands of loose vehicles. You name it we may have it.

Quoted from dirkdiggler:

Too bad you can't display all those cool toys. I never got into the toys but loved micro machines on the nes[quoted image]

Yeah I've been building custom shelving units and buying up old retail display cases because I have a ton more toys in storage. I have that game sealed somewhere, it was a blast. I'd love to see a modern reboot of this original game, the most recent ones weren't very good.

Quoted from winteriscoming:

I read that Micro Machines are returning in 2020. They're licensed to a new manufacturer, but hopefully they're good. All the ones I had are long lost. I think I could get my daughter into them.

It's true. We'll see what happens this time around. When Hasbro bought the line from Galoob it went downhill from there and they ran it into the ground. That was when I stopped buying them in stores around 1998-99

A few posts back I mentioned my love for Galoob Micro Machines and collecting them. Last year a company called Wicked Cool Toyz announced that they would be bringing the line back for 2020. Right from the beginning I knew that their attempt would be a failure and I was right. Less detail than the originals, larger size, larger wheels, no licensed makes or models, and a ridiculous price tag on every piece. I'll continue to stick with collecting the originals.

Quoted from Rezdog:

In process of rescraping a massive collection of roms. Have owned and kept pristine practically every video game console released dating back to the pre Atari 2600 days. Also I’m guilty of having maybe one too many CRTs in a spare bedroom. Lots of work and a few headaches involved trying to play retro games on OEM vintage hardware so finally embracing emulation.
Keys to the candy store.
Only problem now is...too much candy.
But damn it felt sweet treating myself to some big screen AND hassle free Tecmo Bowl last night.[quoted image]

Broke this out for a pic today, I have owned it since it released back in 1983 and used to use it to fight bad guys along side the A-Team and BA's van. Kitt still talks too.
