Here's something that my kids my reply in this thread... 10 years from now
I made them for Christmas about 10 years ago.
The garage has ramps that go up to the main deck and a working elevator via that crank. Perfect size for the Hot-wheels. Obviously that went to my son Daniel.

My daughter got a kitchen. The excitement this generated was far greater than when she got an iPhone (well, pretty close).
The fridge has a freezer, refrigerator, shelves.

The matching stove/oven/sink combo featured a faucet, sink, storage pantry. Also a four burner stove, oven w/plexi door plus a shelf w/cupholder.

These things took me almost a year to make.... but worth it.

No pics of this happening but every time we got a washer, dryer, couch... I got the box!
My oldest got a present when he was four months old. He threw away the toy instantly but was fascinated with the sparkly wrapping paper. He played with that piece of paper for months!
I searched for photos on the net... my houses looked more like this:
But... the possibilities:

Quoted from zr11990:At one time golf balls actually did have a liquid center, did they not?
I cut open many golf balls as a kid. The ones I saw in the seventies had some rubber-band-sh kind of stuff.
Now that I think about it... I cut open just about everything
No liquid.

Quoted from girloveswaffles:Well, apparently SOME did:
THAT'S THE STUFF!!!! Just like a ball of rubber bands!
Hmmm, I don't remember the liquid, but perhaps the balls I was cutting into were so old and dried out there was nothing in left.
I know what I'm doing this weekend

I burned a nice hole in my carpet in my bedroom with a wood burner. I also hit my finger with it once. The edge of the burner was threaded to accept many tip designs. When it hit my finger it left a thread pattern in my skin. Lasted for months since the skin was not really burned just scorched. The "threads" in my finger had to wear off like normal skin layers.

My wife has always been a big fan of the Thorne rooms at the Chicago Art Institute. We probably visit twice a year. They are cool. Kinda like 'eye spy'
I spent many MANY hours outdoors. Camping as a Boy Scout and hundreds of hours fishing.
Sadly after 10 years as a Boy Scout leader for my boy's troop, my youngest son just turned 18. I'm still heavily involved in the program but I've not been in my tent since last November.... <hannds shakkkking>.

Quoted from electricsquirrel:I remember when my son was little, he always wanted to ride on these things.
So, I would sit him on top and pretend to put a quarter in.
I would go behind him and shake the ride without him seeing me do it.
He never knew the difference.
We told my oldest son that the "Music Truck" went around town all during summer. At some point he came into the house screaming.... DAD... The Music Truck sells ICE CREAM TOO!!!!!
Nuts!
