Quoted from zombywoof:Now that you mention it, I'm not sure how stolen Playboys haven't made this list yet. They were always a childhood favorite!
This is the December 1972 issue. It even has a pretty cool article on pinball (because we all know you only read Playboy for the articles ). Too bad the Fireball gets lost in the centerfold.

[quoted image]
I have two large boxes of Playboys that I bought every month in the mid to late 60's. When I went to sell them a few years ago I was shocked to see that most of the centerfolds were missing. Turns out my son, now 48 years old, and his friends had pulled them out and decorated the walls of their fort in the woods.
Quoted from JayDee:If I saw this, it was way past my bedtime
[quoted image]
You're not that old. This is what I saw.
pasted_image (resized).pngQuoted from Lovef2k:Imagine today drinking from the same bottle that someone else drank from?
Every once in a while a bottle of soda would show up for sale that had not been entirely cleaned before refilling. Usually a bottle that had hard mud in the bottom or something like that.
Quoted from ReadyPO:Thinking about our recent outage, I remember many TV stations would show this pattern after they went off the air (after the national anthem, of course)

See post #3953.
Quoted from mooch:Did you ever enjoy wearing olives on your fingers before eating them? Growing up in Chicago, this was also a way to eat Salerno Butter Cookies.

Quoted from pinwiztom:Another Schaper game was Stadium Checkers,
but i do not remember having that at home, but maybe a neighborhood kid had it.[quoted image]
I still have mine. Same box. Great game.
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Couldnt tell you what its made of but its like a Cell Nucleus, or a bubble, that can be pushed around, and split.
Around 75% made either lost ir or never had it.

We used to call those one of our "Trip Toys".
Quoted from cottonm4:I would like to plumb the depths of your diabolical mind.
Talk about an "Oh, shit" moment.......
[quoted image]
Would make a good horror movie. "Slayground"
Quoted from Atari_Daze:While we did not have one of these when I was doing the lawn as a yute, two of my neighbors did. Always thought they were so weird with the staggered wheel![quoted image]
Worst invention ever. My dad finally gave up on ours and returned it.
Quoted from pinwiztom:Hey
I like Miracle Whip!
My wife thinks i am crazy, and would be horrified if i brought home anything but Best Foods mayo.
There is nothing better than a braunschweiger sandwich made with fresh white Wonder Bread, Longhorn cheese, Vlasic Stackers pickles and a heaping mound of Miracle Whip.
Quoted from mooch:I miss lightning bugs. Maybe you call them fireflies. As a kid growing up in the Midwest, I loved watching them flicker on and off on a warm summer night. Since moving out to Nevada, I haven’t seen a single one.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Lightning bugs were everywhere when I was growing up here in St. Louis. I only live a few miles from where I grew up and there are very few now. Same thing with June Bugs and rabbits.
Quoted from mooch:Did you eat Chuckles in a certain order?
I always ate the black one last.
Yellow, Green, Orange, Red, Black.
[quoted image]
I was the exact opposite. Hated green and yellow. But still ate them of course.
Quoted from cottonm4:I have not had an Orange Julius for years. I'd like to have one now.
Quoted from girloveswaffles:Remember when Bandages came in metal boxes?
[quoted image]
This one even has a price tag from Sav-On drugs on it still.
[quoted image]
Remember when Scotch Tape came in metal cans?
Quoted from girloveswaffles:[quoted image]
Remember when Velveta came in a box ... oh, wait.
I have about 5 of these old wooden cheese boxes filled with screws, bolts and nails from my grandfather's workshop.
pasted_image (resized).pngQuoted from cottonm4:Early 70s stuff:
I never bought a Sex to Sexty but I used to thumb thru them at the base Exchange for when I needed a laugh. They were out there, leaving little to the imagination.
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
I remember buying a copy of Sex to Sexty for Sexty-Sex in 1966 (duh!) when I was 14 years old. From the same beautiful check out girl at the local Rexall Drug store who also sold me monthly issues of Playboy.
I have never seen that before.</block
As I remember, you would place the ball in the front of the barrel, push the front handle forward and pull back and push with a lot of force. Not very accurate but shoots the ball pretty far. The only drawback is getting your finger or hand pinched between the two pieces. Happened a lot. Very painful.
This was my first record player growing up in the 50's. Obviously played only 45's and was connected to a GE clock radio for the speaker. Worked pretty well.
I still have some of the 45's including Bill Haley and the Comets "See You Later Alligator and "Shake, Rattle and Roll".

This the clock radio that was used for the speaker. And listening to KXOK AM 630.
pasted_image (resized).pngQuoted from mooch:I had one of these upside-down 7up glasses when I was in high school back in the 70’s.
It was a goof on the classic Coke glass.
I have three different versions of the Uncola glass.
