Im looking for the name of a Water Ball gun. It was made about 17 years ago, and may have had the word "Hydro" in the name.
Memory says it was mostly white with orange. I dont remember if it was battery or manual, but it would shoot a larg ball of water.

My searches only show water gel ball guns of today....Anyone else remember or have the name?

Thank you Lloyd! $125! Yikes! We use to fill them with Beer, and shoot each other in the mouth at a distance in the pool!
Super Soakers worked too!

Quoted from mbeardsley:

Does she also complain about them putting dear crossings in busy traffic areas...?

My S-I-L has some strange beliefs and can be a little thick on things. But she is not stupid.

Some captions (memes?) for that video.

1) Why did I want to be a DJ?

2) I feel for the guy married to that woman. How can he win any argument with her while fighting against that logic.

3) Hopefully, for him, she has at least not lost her looks.

Quoted from DanQverymuch:

We're into the post-adolescent period of my childhood now, but I was a Radio Shack Color Computer person.
Ooh! Ooh! 64K of memory!

I just got a coco2 (64k) on ebay and a cassette recorder to save programs on it. This was my first computer when I was a kid and learned basic by reading and experimenting. So I naturally spent a whole day trying to remember how to program it. I decided that I would make a Stars Wars game and spent the day programming the title screen, star wars theme song and some background stuff in Basic. (It would take me forever to try in assembly).

Got that finished after several hours and loaded up the cassette recorder to save the program, just like back in the day. (A disk drive was just too expensive back in the day for us so I always used cassettes) - Saved the file on cassette, went to reload it and it was corrupt... 6, maybe 7 hours of work gone forever. It instantly gave me anxiety remembering back when I was young spending all day programming to later find that my sister had recorded New Kids on the Block over my program!

Maybe, I'll start over in a few weeks.

Quoted from ReadyPO:

…." my grandfather, was probably around the same age, 5 or 6. He died of lung cancer when I was 7, oldest memory of someone dying. What a guy though - for having him in my life such a short time, what great memories. Would have loved to grow up with him around." [quoted image]

Thank you! I haven't thought about my grandfather for a while.

My mom said he was a prick, I don't know. He was always cool to me!

Took me fishing, kept tropical fish, had a great HO train layout in the cellar.

Mostly he was just fun to hang out with on the front porch. He passed in 1994 at the age of 84.

I miss him. Sometimes when I'm driving through Bethlehem, I find myself thinking of visiting him...….still.

Of course. He's an old guy trying to get into heaven. They aren't that way when they are younger raising kids. Grandparents are the best.

I don't know about that machine -- but for the Commodore 64 we have emulators, so we can save all our code on the main hard drive as a text file -- nothing to chance to physical media. I still have my C64 in the box -- no way in hell am I dragging it out.

I did end up finding an Tandy Color Computer emulator online, but it doesn't have a save function. Just proves how much more popular C64 was over Tandy Cocos. I was always jealous of my friends that had C64s as the games were 100 times better than what we had.

Ugh! Pick-Up Sticks! My grandmother had a can of them at her house that I was supposed to play with. Another winner is a bag or box of tongue depressors labeled as “Craft Sticks.” I’d rather play with a rubber band or a cigarette butt.

I remember Rice Krinkles. Only had them from small boxes in the Post cereal variety packs. I didn’t like the flavor of the sugar coating they used on them. Rice Krispies plus a couple spoons of table sugar were way better.

I actually did occasionally play with a cigarette butt. I picked them up off the ground and tore them open to see if they were Larks with the cool charcoal granules inside. That sounds pretty nasty to me now. What grimy little kid I must’ve been.

They debuted at Chicago stadium and then migrated over to wrigley field. Shortly after that, they adopted the uniform I show in the pics. Since then, they have been a Chicago event staple and are still around today (uniforms have changed) all over the country.

A CTA bus/train ticket. What year?

Quoted from cottonm4:

A CTA bus/train ticket. What year?

Well, not exactly a ticket, but a "transfer". Allowed you to go from one bus line to another, within a time limit (the punches on the clock), for free. You could go on a third ride too. But you could not go on a reverse ride; i.e., there and back. I think they stopped using them in the early 1970's.

I remember 'Funny Face' drink mixes as a kid. They were basically similar to Kool-Aid except they had more creative names for the flavors.

A couple of the flavors in particular had names that would not be allowed today.

I once visited a friend’s house where they had a very cool large globe of Earth. I’d always loved maps and atlases so this thing blew my mind. My parents weren’t keen on buying big globes, but they did buy me a cheap little one at Sears. I loved this little globe. Not only was it great for learning about continents and oceans, but also for just mindless spinning.

Oh Man, THAT Waterpik Model!

Somehow, we ended up with 2 of them, with 4 boys.
Anyone else have waterpik fights?

Boy, were we punished! We soaked the Shag Carpeting in the Bathroom, Caused the Wallpaper to curl, and soaked the toilet paper!
If that wasnt enough, I would set a fire in the sink, and play fireman with the waterpik, to put out the fire!
I can still see my fathers face!

My Mothers was worse, when we discovered Flaming Tampon Cannons!

When I was growing up, my Mom was always ironing. She ironed everything- sheets, handkerchiefs, undershirts. She set up her ironing board in the living room so she could watch TV while ironing. I remember the sound of her spraying Niagara Spray Starch and her ironing board squeaking as she pressed the iron down on it. With the newer fabrics, does anyone iron much anymore? I take stuff to the cleaners if it needs to be pressed. My wife hasn’t ironed anything in the last 15 years. We ditched our ironing board in our last move.
