I had one of these fly guns back in the early 80s. Looks goofy, but it was fun and worked better than a regular fly swatter.

Ever decorate your wall with a traffic sign? Not one you bought, but one you “found.” My Dad had a STOP sign from his younger years hung in our basement. No clue how he got it. I once found a city bus stop sign lying in the grass near its damaged pole. That ended up in the basement, too. To throw off the traffic sign detectives, both signs were given away to neighbors when we moved.

Ironic how a sign that says STOP, still gets stolen.

Stop signs that have a white border are optional...

I do it legally now, thanks to my Cameo.

I pulled a few boxed card games and board games out of the basement:
The Beatles Flip Your Wig Game (complete with all four band member pieces).

Alfred Hitchcock's WHY Mystery Game (a lot rarer than CLUE).

Not really toys, but do any of you remember the small metal ashtrays supplied by Chesterfield and KOOL brand cigarettes?
Chesterfield box pictured with ashtray out in the in-use position. The slightly larger KOOL ashtray is unopened in its sealed box.

You may flip your wig when you hear what that game is worth!

Nope, never saw those, but I had a pretty sheltered, rural childhood...

These 4 were my musical heroes. I read somewhere George C. Scott called them 4 little punks. I was not too happy with hearing that.

But now that I am closer to the end of life instead of the beginning of life, they look like 4 little punks

My Mom signed up for the Capitol Record Club in 1962 when we got a new stereo cabinet. They sent some good records— Peter, Paul and Mary... Dean Martin... The Kingston Trio. And then one day... BOOM!

Am I nuts, or for a while there, did gas stations have some cool toys?

I am a few steps away from remembering some ... toy I really wanted in the early 70s but I was so young, and I bet the promo was really short ... geez. There's no way I'll find it by reaching for it... it will need a few more... adjacent suggestions to tease it out.

They did indeed! Here's a couple I remember (They weren't local, so I never actually got any of them).

I remember carrying a PEZ dispenser as a pre-teen personal accessory. I had a Dino for a while, later followed by a Sylvester. However, these old-school characters have been discontinued and replaced by more relevant cultural icons such as Brown Poop.

That makes me nervous. Does it seal really well against the bottle?

I imagine my kid swigging it up like in the picture, having it dribble out of the bottle and drip everywhere (him oblivious), me yelling from across the room "hey watch your mess!", him swinging it down real quick, putting it on the counter, and then having it fizz up and spew out the top. A trail of soda drips all across the carpet ending in a still-fizzing puddle of soda and ice cream, dripping down the cabinet and on to the kitchen floor.

At some point during the process of becoming an adult I developed to ability to see into my son's future like that. Dad vision. Anybody else got that?

There’s a newer product called Fizz Cup which looks like a much less messy version of Fizz-Nik.

Gooey Louie looks like a really dumb kids game. But it was a blast to play at parties in the 90s. I brought it out after everyone was too drunk to play Jenga.

When the first Kennedy half-dollar coins came out in 1964, my parents excitedly saved a bunch of them in a plastic bank that looked like a big half-dollar. But they eventually decided to cut it open and spend them all. I kept one coin in this fabulous fancy plastic snap case.
