Yes. But they are fortified with vitamins. You should look at all the vitamins packed into Captain Crunch. I think they follow right after sugar in the ingredients list

How about a good ol’ wooden magazine rack?

Funny you brought that up, I just ordered one to go next to my La-Z-Boy chair a few days ago-lol. I looked at the modern ones and wanted to go old school instead. I can't wait to see my wife's face when it shows up and I attempt to put it next to my chair. I can see the eyes rolling already.

Taco Doritos are the best. They still sell them but only in certain areas. Haven't been able to get any here for years now.

Remember the old Dungeons and Dragons. I would save up my weekly allowance, ride my Mongoose BMX down to the local hobby store and spend everything I had on D & D. I would take them home and custom paint them, and started obsessively collecting them. The excitement I got from 'new' figures, dragons, etc. was really memorable. Looking back-the amount of money I spent on them was mind boggling.

FYI Pinball was inducted a few years ago.

I have collected a lot of Playboy stuff. I don't have the first nine issues of the magazine (before the Playmate became a fold-out), but I do have every issue from then on until printed publication ended.

At one time the Playboy Femlins were advertised in the back pages of the magazine. For something like $1.95 each.

Now $700.00- $880.00 0n Ebay. They would make great toppers for a Playboy pin.

Around the late 80s, a buddy of mine started wearing these baggy striped “Zubaz” pants everywhere he went. I always thought they were ugly as Hell.

Yep, I remember the stacks. I was a senior in high school 6 foot 5, 5 inch stack shoes at 155 pounds...

#3621 3 years ago

Heres one for the memory check.

I received mine in the 1960s, for the Bronx zoo.

An Elephant Key, for Talking Storybooks!

In looking this up, I just learned, other zoos had them too!

$.50 was a lot back then...a kids lunch, for a key.
While my older brother and I would race to the Box, to see who could put their key in first, and hear the audio,
we soon learned other kids were doing the same.....A bit of chaos would occur.

It was worse on a school field Trip, where a whole class, everyone with Keys, would attempt to be first.
I can clearly hear my teacher yelling all day, STOP RUNNING!

I still have mine from the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. They used to have a small train that ran around the outer edge of the zoo and you could ride tortoises as a little kid too. As a kid the zoo and Sea World were my favorite places.

Mystery Spot. When I was a kid there was an amusement park in the Bronx called Freedomland. There was an attraction called Casa Loca that I think was modeled after the Mystery Spot. It made an impression on me for sure. And when Freedomland closed in 1964 the family that owns Clark's Trading Post bought it and brought it to NH. Unfortunately they replaced that with a shooting range two years ago as the attraction required guides and I suppose it wasn't paying the way. But the bones of the attraction are still there.

For the record Clark's is still an unbelievable place if you are in Lincoln New Hampshire. There is a Bear show that has to be one of the few left in the country. And a steam train that manages to find the Wolfman riding a steam powered car on every run. And for people like us, an unbelievable static collection of "stuff".

It's funny what we remember. Casa Loca made an impression on me as clearly it distorted reality. And I remember the Freedomland sign. But I don't remember horse drawn stagecoaches or bisons!

Alas, it is now just the largest apartment complex in the country. Who knows what our kids and grandkids will remember 50 years from now? What we do know is this thread will be still alive.

I was thinking about CB radios last night and the only reason CBs became a nationwide phenom being sold by every store in the country was because Pres. Nixon lowered speed limits to 55 mph.

They helped drivers stay ahead of the cops.

That’s a Big 10-4

I still have my Nintendo SNES console and some controllers for it (haven't played it in years). I have always kept the game cartridges in excellent condition, storing them in their cartons with all the original manuals, literature and packing equipment. My two nieces live in Colorado and wanted to borrow the games when they got their own second hand SNES console some years ago. I let them each pick out two games and told them they could borrow two more when they returned the first two - but that they must be returned complete with all the original materials! They chose Super Mario Brothers and Bubsy I (Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind) plus two others. They have never returned any of those first four games and I have never loaned them any others. I ask about those four games occasionally, but I strongly suspect that I will never get them back. I love my nieces, but, like many younger people, they don't have any respect for other people's property. I believe they can't return them to me because they have long ago lost the boxes and other materials for the games. Below are some of my games. Any of them worth anything?
