A few more nostalgic ones for me.
Super Naturals - This was the only figure I had. I honestly didn't even know what it was, but I just thought it was cool. I must have eventually lost the figure because I was using the snake mask with some other figures.

Sky Commandos - Again, I only had one of these, but I remember them being pretty popular.

Battle Beasts - If I remember right the holograms were heat sensitive.
Hasbro_Battle_Beasts_Loose_01_(resized).jpg
MUSCLE - I made a wrestling ring for these guys with pencils and rubber bands.
1024px-M.U.S.C.L.E._toys_(resized).jpg
Army Ants - I just remember receiving a few of these one Christmas. Mine were orange. Looking up the release dates, I would have been 5 or 6.

I had that one! I think you were supposed to pump it to 10, but an extra 5-10 pumps would always be made for good measure . I'd have it stuck down a pant leg as I walked thru the neighborhood to get to the woods. People must have thought I had a wooden leg.
Quoted from AlexF:Oh dude! That is the exact set (Battleground Playset) I had. It kept me entertained for hours.
Some time in the mid 70s they neutered the cannons so they would no longer shoot projectiles.
Quoted from TheLaw:Never had one but my friends did. Man do you guys remember the pure racing excitement of these things?
Frog , Blackfoot, and the one I had was a tricked out Super Blackfoot. Lots of fun in the 90s.
Quoted from jhanley:Your parents must have been well off.Schwinn bikes were expensive .
My family had a Schwinn dealership in Bethlehem PA.
Still......couldn't afford a Krate.
Quoted from AlexF:My dad had a Kawasaki/Ski Doo dealership when I was a kid. At some point he switched from Ski Doo to Arctic Cat and I got one of these.

I would have sold my soul for one of those, when I was a kid!
Quoted from electricsquirrel:I would have sold my soul for one of those, when I was a kid!
It was a blast. I remember I would constantly get it stuck trying to blaze my own trail. I'd shuffle up to the house and tell my dad I was stuck. He would say, ok I will get it out but this is the last time. He'd end up saying that about 10 times in an afternoon. He was great.
I loved the Kenner SSP Smash Up Derby sets most of all, as I loved smashing cars, LOL. I'd get the latest one each Christmas in the 70's, and within a couple of days I'd have lost a few of the fly-off parts down register vents and who knows where else. about 12 years ago I started to collect them again.
Quoted from HighVoltage:Lego electric train sets
Strombecker slot cars, with the Monza banked curves and cross-overs...
Verti-bird helicoptervertibird_(resized).jpgstrombecker_(resized).jpgLegoTrain0_(resized).jpg
Man! I had a verti-bird. Loved it. Haven't thought about that for probably 35 years.
Quoted from TheLaw:I flew more kites than got that shit to work more than 2 steps.
Indeed. I don't know how they got it to work on TV.
Quoted from o-din:Oh we could go on andon ...
Yeah this thread has stirred up a bunch of memories. We didn't have creepy crawlers but we had this:image_(resized).jpg
I was pissed when they stopped making the edible goop, the cinnamon flavor was great
I was thinking of the same thing. My best Christmas present ever was a sky blue 1967 schwinn deluxe with the Bendix automatic. It was followed later with a green schwinn varsity(1972). Had to mow lawns all summer to save up enough for that bike.
Bicycles were very important back then and the "rich kids" all had Schwinn Krates.
Quoted from Electrocute:the "rich kids" all had Schwinn Krates.
Us not so rich kids were left to mod out our Sting Rays however we saw fit.
Great thread!
Pre 11 yrs - Classic Star Wars, big wheels,
Post 11 yrs - Classic playboy, Suzanne Somers, and her big wheels
Oh yes - and megatron when he was made of real die cast metal and transformed into a gun.
Quoted from Mr68:would appreciate some Pinside entertainment.
What happened to your walkie-talkie ?
LTG : )
A few of my favorites....
I was big into Estes rockets around the age of 10-12. I'll never forget the Scissor Wing Transport. Spent weeks building it. Very first time I fired it off on a windy day. It worked only too well. Turned into an airplane and sailed into an apartment complex and I never saw it again!

I loved the Ideal line of Evel Knievel toys, TTP (Turbo Tower of Power) cycles, AFX racing sets, Mattel Hot Birds Air Control Tower (with airplanes), Vertibird Rescue Ship and Aurora Monster Scenes model kits. So many awesome toys were made in the 70s...
Quoted from LTG:What happened to your walkie-talkie ?
My brother had the green GI Joe ones in the 60s. I think the standard black ones worked better.
I think I was not the first kid on the block to have one of these. I think I was the only kid in the whole town that had a Woody Woodpecker cap.

Seriously, you all are a bunch of hoarders I don't have any of my old toys--and I had a few that have been posted here.
The one I wish I still had: My dad was a Ford dealer in the 1950s and he would go to Dearborn MI once a year for the big Ford wing-ding the factory put on for the dealers. He always would come home with a toy. This was about the time George Jetson was making the scene and the futurists told us we all would be moving around in flying cars.
The toy he brought home was a model that Ford gave out. It car with no wheels. It had three air ducts on the bottom and a blow hose on the back. So, I would blow on the hose and the car would lift up like a hovercraft and I would push the hose to move the car. That car was not sold in stores; I wish I had it today.
.
I had a Frisbee that looked like a flying saucer.
frisbie1966_(resized).jpg
And Vid, my day had a slide action .22 pistol. When I was five he taught me how to respect and handle a gun and how to shoot. When I was seven, I would call him at work and say me and so-and-so want to take the 22 out to the culvert and shoot tin cans. It was not a problem. As you said, ammo was cheap. There was not a tin can that was safe. You could not do that today. If you were the parent they would arrest you. And if you were the kid they would confiscate the gun and haul your ass downtown---and then arrest your dad.
Quoted from o-din:My brother had the green GI Joe ones in the 60s. I think the standard black ones worked better.
Mr68 wouldn't know.
For Christmas his Mother only gave him one.
Heck one year his Mother woke him up early, she needed him to go get a Birthday cake for his twin Brother. On the way to the bakery was when Mr68 figured out who her favorite son was.

Thats an on going inside joke with Lloyd and I.
In the original RGP thread I referred to, I posted: "When I was 12 my mother bought me a *single* Walkie-Talkie"
That was 2007, Lloyd.
