Quoted from cottonm4:Hasbro made new doll that did not go over so well with the parents of young daughters.
" The troll doll has a button on its stomach that, when pressed, says words like "Can I have a hug?" and other sweet phrases."
" What isn't advertised anywhere on the box or in the media is that there is another button on the bottom of the doll, between its legs and under its skirt. When pressed, the doll makes sounds like "Whee" and "Oh."
Must be from the same design team that made my Batman Water Pistol.

Always makes me laugh.
Quoted from Rezdog:Just can’t keep a good Weeble down.
Weebles wobble but they don't fall down! Loved me some weeble wobbles.
Quoted from Rezdog:Often wondered how a Weeble slept if it couldn’t lay down.
Are they like cows, do they worry about weeble tipping?
Was it Einstein who defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?
AKA - Weeble tippin’
Quoted from Rezdog:What kind of sorcery is this?
As my cousin vinny once asked, did the laws of physics cease to exist...!?
Quoted from ghostbc:I want to thank Kim for creating this thread yrs ago. It makes me smile weekly and we all need a little of that lately . Thanks Kim.
Would also like to thank (and wish I could) my Mom and Dad for the joy that these toys gave me both then and now.
Sure I’m not the only one here that shares that same sentiment.
Quoted from Rezdog:Was it Einstein who defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?
Quoted from Rezdog:The Spirograph post reminded me of this other forgotten but messy gem.

I have a spare blender motor that needs something to do. It would work perfect for one of these paint spinners. I have lots of little kids now living on my street that might get a kick out of this.
Quoted from bssbllr:Remember these punching bag for kids. Like a weeble.
[quoted image]
I had that exact one back in 1972.
Bozo didnt make it in my house. After a few days of boxing, he succumbed to backyard lawn dart practice.
Quoted from erak:Just in the process of organizing and purging through all my old toys. To set up in the games room. And sell of doubles I picked up over the years. I lost interest in toys around the time the real Ghostbusters and tmnt came out. But I still have some of them too. At that point, it was all about getting a part time job. To pay for video games. But my parents kept my old stuff. Crazy to think some of it has lasted 40+ years in my parents basement. The marx shooting gallery is from around 1967.
I started collecting vectrex stuff again about 5 years ago.
Sold off all my Star wars toys around 2004. Made a good buck on it at the time.

I still have my mini Pac-Man game in your pic and Mini Popeye game and Omnibot well. What are they worth?

I never had a cool punching bag like that one. But I did have a few of these cheapo balloons you attached to cardboard feet.
image034 (resized).jpgI had an Incredible Hulk punching bag to my memory. But I had fun with the Dr. J nerf basketball hoop for years, when we moved to CA from PA always would hit the popcorn ceiling and fall to the ground. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Ftvfury.wordpress.com%2F2011%2F12%2F21%2Fbasketball-at-christmas%2F&psig=AOvVaw09jbjJvVpROumJr6x220C0&ust=1597295627308000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAIQjRxqFwoTCNib7I30lOsCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAD https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinterest.com%2Fpin%2F290271138453390430%2F&psig=AOvVaw09jbjJvVpROumJr6x220C0&ust=1597295627308000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAIQjRxqFwoTCNib7I30lOsCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAJ

I bought two green machines so that I could race my son.
I recently had to clean out my boyhood home in order to sell it. I found numerous 'artifacts' that brought back some fond memories.
This was my first baseball glove. It got me through tee-ball. I played for the Asteroids (all of the teams had space related names).
Quoted from zombywoof:As a little tyke, I really loved to color...
Planet of the Apes, had these action figures as a kid. Just the Ape ones though, not the astronauts. Also had the Star Trek ones ...
POTA (resized).jpegStarTrek (resized).jpgMego made those. I had a couple of the apes, too. For Star Trek, I had the whole bridge crew and the Enterprise play set with the transporter. I don’t know for sure what happened to mine, but I suspect my nephew got them. I know he got my original Star Wars figures. I should send the little bastard a bill for current value! (Jk)

Looks like they worked on this Punisher superhero toy too
Quoted from Mike_J:I had that exact one back in 1972.
My friend had one in the early 60s.

I never thought I was going to get to use these 2 pics. I realize it is a bit of a stretch for the toys of our childhood thread but I cannot resist. Once you see it you cannot un-see it.
This is Tom Hanks in the movie "Big" from 1988 the when he was living in a toy store.
Here he is with a skyscraper toy.
Screen Shot 2020-08-12 at 5.27.08 PM (resized).png
Well, the toy is a transformer and it has been transformed into some sort of "creature " and the front entry door is now a huge hard-on.
Quoted from Jackontherocks:I still have my mini Pac-Man game in your pic and Mini Popeye game and Omnibot well. What are they worth?
Popeye would be worth the most. $350+ if stickers are good. Waaay more with the box.
Pacman $50-75 Collectors price. Usually $100+ if retail or eBay. And decent stickers. More with box.
Omnibot $75 or so without remote.and dead. With remote and good working battery and tape deck. $250+, way more with box.
Quoted from mooch:Anyone ever buy bubble gum cigarettes as a kid?
If you blew into the end of one, powdered sugar “smoke” would come out the other end.
[quoted image]
Yep lucky strike all the time. Couldn’t handle the real cigs. Lol
Ashamed to say but the chop-o-matic would and did make for a excellent death chamber for many a small insect.Demented yes but also proud of our improvising skills at such an early age. RIP to . Tthe many water bugs, wasps and spider we put down the summer of 74. Glad we never fulfilled our dream of filling the transparent death chamber with lightning bugs. Would have been a hell of a light show. One I would never be able to unsee.

I didn't have that.. but I did try to play "pit and the pendulum"
with a crudely put together Aurora model and one of my dads single blade razor attached to it...
Ah, the joys of having to kill tomato worms.

Diabolical.
We used to take our Daisy BB guns and go blast tiny baby frogs into nothing. Squeeze off one shot and that frog was gone.

I hope for your sake, that when (or if) you get to heaven, petrus at the gate isnt a frog!
That would be croakward.

Thanks had no idea. Here are pics of Pac-Man and Popeye, pretty great condition like new as I always treated my games well. Omnibot up at my parents, have remote and box but battery dead to my memory.

Quoted from dirkdiggler:Zaxxon was made into a board game?
[quoted image]
Zaxxon, bezerk, pacman, Ms pacman. Donkey Kong, qbert, frogger and dragons lair all have their own boardgames. Zaxxon is probably the best (most playable) out of the bunch. Bezerk isn't too bad though.
I traded my unopened factory sealed copy of Zaxxon boardgame for a boxed vectrex game about 3 years ago. Still have my bezerk boardgame.
I have a great time on this website here if you haven't seen it. Plaids stallions.com
