Hey Art! Thanks for the up-vote my friend! Good to know yesterday's surgery didn't limited your computer access nor alter your good taste.
Quoted from bssbllr:We have a Paul Bunyan at our upstate NY water park.

Those are called Roadside Giants and I understand there's an effort to rescue some of them. People have them on their personal properties now. First picture is a guy that lives about 10 miles from me here in Colorado. I'm told he's very proud to have it in his yard and he takes good care of it.

It was at the original Big Chief Go Kart track on Hwy A. There was a giant Indian holding a Go-Kart up in the air with one hand. The other hand was down by his side. The thumb pointed forward in just the right direction so as you were driving past from the correct side, it looked like the thumb was protruding from his pants... Needless to say, eventually someone complained and they sawed the thumb off.
Found a little information here https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/64818 but nothing about the thumb scandal.[quoted image]
Reminds me of this guy I stumbled on.

I guess the only thing that came close was my bicycle...
Google search Hammer Museum in Haines, Alaska
A museum devoted entirely to hammers has more than 1,400 items on display dating back to the Romans.
Quoted from Staffan:If I ever get to go to alaska that would be a fun place to visit, Seems they have some interesting stuff [quoted image]
Don't tell them you collect pinball machines. They might think that's weird.
Quoted from cottonm4:Ok, then Kiss ups the ante with a KISS Kasket. To get people to pay extra to get buried in this coffin is master marketing.

Holy crap is that ever ballsy. Wow. LOL
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:My first car.
68 GTO.
I didn't realise until recently that John Delorean was responsible for the GTO. He was the youngest division head in General Motors history and he played a bit of cat and mouse with his old guard bosses to get the GTO made. And by doing so he helped usher in the muscle car era and made a rock star of himself in the industry.
I recommend watching, Framing John Delorean. It covers his rise at General Motors and awkward company exit, to his launching the Delorean Motor company and its demise along with the cocaine bust. So much I didn't know about including what a POS the Delorean car was.
Also, upcoming Netflix series, Myth & Mogul: John Delorean, looks promising.
Quoted from cottonm4:This morning I get an email from PayPal. I am not happy. Somehow, my surfing, that I thought was anonymous, has turned into an offer at my PP account.
How is this happening? Anybody enough of a computer/internet whiz to tell me what is going on?
I search for any product on Amazon and immediately after my Facebook is spamming me with those same product ads.
It happens all of the time and unfortunately I'm becoming somewhat numb about it all.
I'm pretty sure there is a privacy or anonymous setting in Chrome but I've been too lazy to research it.
Quoted from DanQverymuch:Look into DuckDuckGo, their browser tries to block all traffic with Google servers.
Thanks Dan!
Quoted from LTG:Looks like Mr68 without glasses.
LTG : )
Glasses off, Lloyd and I'm scarier.

Our city expanded and eventually engulfed the old drive-inn we had with a single family home development. The Holiday Drive-Inn marquee was designated a historical landmark, is well maintained and occasionally used to this day. It's on a small, two lane highway out of town on the way to Lyons Classic Pinball.
I spent a lot of time there after buying my first car and each time I pass the sign, a dirty little smile sneaks across my face.

FYI: I think Pinside is still dealing with some issues after the fire. I had to go searching for this thread after noticing I hadn't seen it pop up with a green marker indicating any new posts. When I clicked on the link it treated me like a first time participant and took me to the very first post rather than where I had left off. And I've since concluded it kicked me off about two weeks ago.
No big deal and maybe I accidentally hit the Un-visit Topic button but I seriously doubt it. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it in case it happens to others around Pinside.
Quoted from cottonm4:In early 70s my sister would go on and on about cable. " There are no commercials." Sort of like how youtube went for 10 years with no commercials.
Same with satellite radio which is now as bad as AM radio with the chatter.
Quoted from pinzrfun:I remember my stepdad going crazy - "$17 a month to watch TV? We watch it for free right now!"
My father too until he saw girls in leotards jazzercising on HBO.
Quoted from cottonm4:Ayiie Captain, are ya ready to beam up?
As an adult, you're looking at the reason I raced out to buy a flip phone when they first came out.
pasted_image 1 (resized).pngQuoted from Azmodeus:Little tips like this can keep you alive longer. That stair you are using, a small fountain of youth. IMO.
In other words I think the stairs are a little fountain of youth that you can choose to use. Should you wish…. Not everyone does.
A doctor and longevity health expert I follow said, If they could put exercise in the form of a pill, it would be the most heavily prescribed drug in history.
I also take the stairs and find other passive exercises. Not in an attempt to live longer but to live better while I'm here.
Do you guys remember that book in the 70's, The Jupiter Effect? In it they predicted that an alignment of the planets of our Solar System would create a number of worldwide catastrophes on March 10, 1982. Earthquakes, floods and spin our planet out of orbit, all of that crazy shit.
I didn't give it much thought at the time but many of my friends did.
I used that as an example when my daughter was all freaked out about the Y2K computer crash ending the world.
Wow, Y2K was 21, almost 22 years ago now...
